Everything about Janis, from her big heart to her fiery soul, embodied the spirit of the counterculture 60s. It's a story of pain, passion, and a woman's sheer power. “Janis Joplin: Piece of Her Heart” is available NOW wherever you stream your podcasts ❤️

Affirm: "I no longer have to make something happen. I no longer have to worry about tomorrow. I no longer have to concern myself with what other people are doing, I can let go of all of this, and I will be taken care of." - Robert Adams Open your hands in front of you. God is giving you what you need. His Light. Her Heart. Your Self. God's Presence includes all the added things. Don't worry. I Love you, nik p.s. Widen your desire to include the world, not just you and your crew. And watch how you and your crew are provided for in the bigger vision. Quotes: “I am the Light that is over all things. I am all: from Me all came forth, and to Me all attained. Split a piece of wood; I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find Me there. I am the Light of the world; anyone who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light of Life. Walk while you have the Light, so darkness won't overpower you. Those who walk in the dark don't know where they are going. Since you have the Light, believe in the Light, so you will become Children of the Light." “[In the Beyond?] if they ask you, ‘Where have you come from?' say to them, ‘We have come from the Light, from the place where the Light came into being by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.' Queen: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Seaside Pod Review. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new songs; to seek out new lyrics and new musicla expressions; to boldly go where millions of people have gone before! It's all a bit moody over here at the SPR. Randy hasn't forgotten his suitcase this time and Kev's German accent is definitely on point! If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it “Darth Vadar in flats” or possibly, “When I get home I'm gonna rip my wife's underwear right off, cos the waistband is killing me.”Today's song covers Brian's funereal dirge "She Makes Me (Stormtrooper in Stilettoes)" from 1974's superb "Sheer Heart Attack".The cover version of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Listen to Her Heart by Cyberattack, which is clipped in the episode, can be found here: https://youtu.be/EINdLqmcYH0NOTE: Skip forward to 23:31 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin. This follows the arrest of 17-year-old Scott Foor last week. Both suspects are McEachern students. The victims, not McEachern students, were involved in an altercation with a McEachern student when the shooting occurred. The incident occurred at Beck's apartment near Kennesaw State University. Despite a phone call indicating resolution, Beck shot Wackermann six times about 10 minutes later. Beck did not call 911, and police were notified over an hour later. Wackermann was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds. Police discovered marijuana, THC cartridges, firearms, and evidence of drug sales in Beck's residence. The annex, located behind Cobb County Animal Services, can house eight K-9s, featuring climate control and a bathing station. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by officials and community members, with Birrell expressing her lifelong love for animals and dedication to supporting the police. This marks the third premature vacancy in three years. Qualifying for the election will be held on March 4, 5, and 6, with a fee of $360. Bianca Serratore: Fully Alive — A Yes in Her Heart. ‘Love driven obedience' is when we can give God our yes because we know His nature: He is kind, He is loving and He is good. When we know this we can say yes, even when the yes is costly. The more we see God —see His true nature — the more we overflow in that yes. The source of our obedience comes from intimacy, and we become driven by devotion. It is then that we can lay down our gifts and calling and discover His plans are so much bigger and better.
Margaret Maria is a wonderful cellist who's a unique composer. Her compositions are all written by layering cello lines in some gorgeous and emotive aural tapestries. Her personal story is interesting and moving: she started the cello as a teenager, was admitted to the University of Toronto at age 16 without graduating from high school, and was then admitted to the prestigious Curtis Institute. She went on to have a successful career as a member of the Vancouver Symphony and then Canada's National Arts Centre Orchestra, which is how I came to know her. She gave up her job with the NAC after a few years, and embarked on a new life as a composer, meanwhile continuing to teach. Some of her work as an educator has been with the Orkidstra program, which she has been involved with since it's inception in 2007. It's a social development program that serves over 650 youth from over 62 linguistic and cultural backgrounds by building community through free music programs. A Song in Her Heart is out in the world! What a relief. TB has published 2 of the 3 projects that dogged her during the summer and the other one is with the editor. Unfortunately, she's already behind on her fall projects. Such is the life of a writer. Clare has sent a book to the editor. Toot toot toot! Now she's switching back to London 9, but first she must jog her memory about the story. The Italian translation of Change of Heart is out for real this time. That's not all. A Christmas Catch has been uploaded to the audio platforms and should be out soon. Lots of book news for Clare! They crash on to the topic: when you can call yourself a writer and how to find your writing voice. TB takes the reins on this episode, sharing when she first considered herself a writer and explains what it means when people say writer's voice and how to find yours. Something that my season seven guest Ivan Anderson said that stuck with me, was that “Listen to Her Heart” is a 'little' song. And by that, he wasn't being dismissive. He was saying that it wasn't covering a weighty topic and it was compact and accessible. I'd say exactly the same thing about this one. It's neat and compact. It has a superb hook in the pre-chorus and the whole thing is imminently hummable. It's a pretty perfect little pop song.Today's episode covers the third track from side two of Full Moon Fever, Depending On You.You can listen to the song here: https://youtu.be/IjVGlKa2rL0 Check out the Skynyrd Reconsyrdyrd podcast here: https://twitter.com/skynyrdpodcast and the And Volume 4 All... podcast here: https://twitter.com/AV4APodThe Tom Petty Project is a proud member of The Deep Dive Podcast Network, which you can find on Twitter: https://twitter.com/deepdivepodnetDon't forget to follow me on social media, like, subscribe, and please, leave a rating if you like the show:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thetompettyprojectTwitter: https://twitter.com/TomPettyProjectInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetompettyproject/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt6BLRWuuAR43zHpNKIirOwAll music, including the theme song, provided by my very best friend Randy Woods. In this episode of Fic Clique, your hosts discuss "Distraction Management," by sinsense (Semantic Error) @17:02, "Her Heart is a River," by angelan (Six of Crows) @43:00, and "Ere," by audreycritter (The Queen's Thief) @1:07:13. When there's someone you care deeply about and you need to talk to them, how do you communicate? Is it via a series of increasingly unhinged text messages? Letters where much is left unsaid? Stilted conversations in royal bedchambers? The fics of this episode offer you a plethora of really viable and useful options to explore in your own life.

Ivan gives me his answers to my formulaic 10 questions. This is almost always a highlight of every conversation as it reveals so much about the person I'm talking to and where their brain takes them. Ivan's answer to "If you could pick any artist to cover any Tom Petty song, who would it be and what song would they cover?" is brilliantly aligned with his own off-kilter way of creating music. He also eschews the easy response to question 5!Quick note - there is some profanity in this episode, but it's not aggressive or gratuitous!Listen to Her Heart: https://youtu.be/EINdLqmcYH0Cyberattack website: https://cyberattack.world/Don't forget to follow me on social media, like, subscribe, and please, leave a rating if you like the show:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thetompettyprojectTwitter: https://twitter.com/TomPettyProjectInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetompettyproject/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt6BLRWuuAR43zHpNKIirOwAll music, including the theme song, provided by my very best friend Randy Woods. Today's episode features a wide ranging chat with the uniquely brilliant Ivan Anderson, the genius behind the Glitch Rock band Cyberattack and an all round wonderful fella. On his debut album under the Cyberattack monicker, Ivan covered Listen to Her Heart, which is how his work circled into my orbit. Not only does he find an incredibly angle on the song, but he also created a beautifully chaotic and inventive music video to go along with it, which I've linked in the episode notes. My main hope from this episode is that you all start listening to Ivan's work and get to know what Glitch Rock is in the same way I did!Quick note - there is some profanity in this episode, but it's not aggressive or gratuitous!Listen to Her Heart: https://youtu.be/EINdLqmcYH0Cyberattack website: https://cyberattack.world/Don't forget to follow me on social media, like, subscribe, and please, leave a rating if you like the show:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thetompettyprojectTwitter: https://twitter.com/TomPettyProjectInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetompettyproject/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt6BLRWuuAR43zHpNKIirOwAll music, including the theme song, provided by my very best friend Randy Woods. What was behind the Asbury revival? Can we trust it? On this episode of All Things I am talking with my friend and theologian Missie Branch about: - Why every woman (and human!) is actually a theologian. - What caused revival at Asbury University to break out. - What it looks like to struggle and depend on the Holy Spirit. - How the Spirit moves when and where he pleases, as he is doing at Asbury. - The desperation we see in Gen Z. - The critical spirit we see in the church. - How to cultivate a spirit of grace and unity in the church. - What the church is getting wrong and right(!) in this cultural moment. Dean of Students to Women and Director of Graduate Life at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and also completing her graduate degree in Ethics, Theology, and Culture there. At first, I thought Shelley Shepard Gray was a new-to-me author, but I believe I've read at least one of The Heart of a Hero series books (not to mention a couple of others look really familiar). Her new Season in Pinecraft (an Amish snowbird community) series features Amish wallflowers who just can't live down something in their pasts and how Shelley helps them rise above it--even if it's a bit later than expected. Listen in to see what happens! Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you! Are You Ready for a Delightful New Amish Series? Shelley Shepard Gray has a wide variety of fiction--romantic suspense, contemporary romance, Amish suspense, Amish romance... so many! We chatted about what book to start with if you have never read anything by her and want something to go to after you check out Her Heart's Desire and while you wait for the next Season in Pinecraft book this summer. Shelley's suggestion was Edgewater Road (the sequel comes out in February, so not a long wait!) Like I told Shelley, she has a nice long backlist calling you. Two books a month should get most of it read for you! How's that for cool? The year of Shelley Shepard Gray! Sounds good to me. Seriously, who wouldn't want to read a series about Amish wallflowers? Girls who have something to live down and because of it, they're overlooked? Yes, please! Especially since in Her Heart's Desire, the young man who sees Mary Margaret for herself isn't... um... available. Or is he? Her Heart's Desire by Shelley Shepard Gray Mary Margaret Miller needs an escape from her small Amish community. She boards a bus, all alone, for a vacation in Pinecraft, Florida. Meeting Betsy and Lilly on the way, she's amazed to find two kindred spirits. They become fast friends and determine to have the best two weeks of their lives. For Mary, it starts when she meets Jayson Raber. The handsome and charming carpenter is taken by Mary from the get-go, but he has responsibilities back home in Kentucky--including a girl he's supposed to marry. When someone from Mary's past shows up in Pinecraft, it seems like her perfect vacation is ruined. But that's nothing compared to what's coming when she realizes what Jayson has been hiding. Take a vacation with New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray as she explores what happens when we allow our pasts to define our futures in this story of friendship, romance, and new beginnings. Imagining the Wonderment and Joy in Heaven on the Day of the Assumption of Our Lady! Mary set out in haste to the hillside . . . to go higher. Today's amazing Gospel reading is remarkable. We hear Mary went to visit her cousin Elizabeth. Jesus is clothed, hidden within Mary as she sets forth on her journey. Jesus is hidden … but present. As Mary arrives at her cousin's home, so too does Jesus. Today, we celebrate another going up of Our Lady. Our Lady is always moving upward with a certain haste. Her Spirit . . . Her Heart is always elevated. She is always seeking after the things of Heaven. She who has the Lord enclosed within her, allows Him to lift her spirit ever higher. The Queen of Heaven Arrives in Heaven On this day we celebrate Our Lady's Assumption. On this day she is born as she rises to heaven by the wings of angels and her Son. She who bore the Lord, is in turn, born by Him into Heaven. Hear more about this glorious feast day within the Homily. We hear in scripture, how Elizabeth is overjoyed at the presence of Our Lady. The unborn St. John jumps for joy as well. Now imagine the angels' joy and all of heaven when Our Lady arrives. The Queen of Heaven arrives in heaven . . . the angels must have jumped for joy on this day. Our Lady is not a visitor to heaven . . . she now resides in heaven. The sounds of Our Lady's greeting . . . upon hearing this, imagine the joy in the hearts of heaven. Hear more within the Homily. Imagine the Wonderment in Heaven We hear about the wonderment of Abraham, and of David. Imagine the wonder of James the Apostle, who knew her on earth. Imagine Adam and Eve as they look in wonderment, because she has arrived. They look in wonderment and see what God's plan is for all. If Elizabeth reacted in joy, how much more so will heaven jump for joy at the arrival of Our Lady! Hear more and imagine. Hear more and share in the wonderment. Listen to this Meditation Media.
