Thank you for listening!Until next time,Be wellNatalie's Bio:I am a Somatic Inquiry practitioner and mindfulness teacher, guiding others in deepening their relationship with themselves, their bodies, and the living world. My work is rooted in an animist framework, honouring the wisdom of the natural world, the cosmos, and our other-than-human kin—plants, ancestors, and the unseen forces that shape our lives.I come to this work through a 25-year journey as a yoga and meditation teacher, continually drawn to the ways we can cultivate presence, resilience, and connection. I identify as an endless student, constantly exploring new depths of understanding—both within and beyond myself.Off the mat and outside the healing space, I am a mother, an animal lover, and someone who finds solace in the quiet rhythms of the earth. My work is an offering of devotion—to the body, to relationality, and to the ever-unfolding mystery of being alive.Interested in using Riverside for your podcasting needs? Check out my Referral Link!

The Numinous Podcast with Carmen Spagnola: Intuition, Spirituality and the Mystery of Life
I have been a student in the most life-changing class about perimenopause for the better part of this year. Actually, it's a telehealth group – a group of patients meeting monthly for online sessions – under the care of Dr.Kristin Schnurr, a naturopathic doctor who specializes in complex endocrine concerns including perimenopause and postmenopause. In this episode, we explore: • how long perimenopause lasts • how to know which stage of perimenopause you're in • why vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes and night sweats) can be more serious than we think • the connection between ACE scores and perimenopausal symptoms and so much more! Get on Dr.Kristin's newsletter by visiting her website here: www.drkristinschnurr.com Dr.Kristin's Upcoming Therapeutic Small Group Programs: Empowered - Navigating the Perimenopausal Transition - This group would be a good fit for those of you still menstruating or if it has been less than one year from your last menstrual period. Sign up for her newsletter to be the first to know when registration opens. Emergence - An Exploration of Life After Menopause - For those of you for whom it has been 12 months since your last menstrual period. Sign up for her newsletter to be the first to know when registration opens. Beginning in January 2024 these groups will meet virtually every month for 12 months. Over the course of the year, you'll cover comprehensive and up to date information in a safe and nurturing space. The emphasis will be on listening to your inner wisdom as you make informed decisions in support of your own unique health. Registration opens November 20th, 2023 via newsletter mail-out. The Numinous Podcast with Carmen Spagnola: Intuition, Spirituality and the Mystery of Life
Natalie Rousseau is here and we're talking about her relationship to the word “witch”, how we feel about creativity and self-expression, feeling stuck, the books we long to write, and the stories we love to hear again and again. Natalie is a woman who wears many hats. She's taught yoga and meditation since 2002 and is currently in school studying somatic therapy. She lives in Hul'qumi'num territory, also known as Salt Spring Island, BC. She's a great listener, an excellent writer, and a gentle teacher and I know you're going to love this conversation between two very like-minded women of great mutual respect. In this episode, we mentioned the newer feminist edition of The Odyssey by Emily Wilson (and here's a Vox article on why her version is an important piece of work.) Shakti Stories: Embodiment, Pleasure, Dreams & Psychotherapy
Natalie is a wisdom seeker, storyteller, movement and meditation teacher. She offers workshops and courses on ritual, earth based wisdom and embodied practice. Her lifelong love of natural rhythms has led to an intimate relationship with bodily movement and the exploration of our environmental influences. The dance of seasonal reverence, yogic practice, ancestral wisdom, home herbalism and personal ritual are all embodied within her approach to guiding and mentoring. Enjoy ♡
If you're part of the wellness world, including communities that practice things like yoga, meditation, and breath work, then you likely have come across your fair share of 'spiritual bypass.' This being the idea that if you just 'think positive,' you will transform your life and heal all of your inner shadow stuff. In this conversation with Natalie, we call bullshit. As Natalie shares her story of a difficult upbringing, including parental mental health challenges and serious addiction, alongside separation from her extended family, she speaks candidly about her healing process. She connects with the idea of life being a long journey home; a non linear process of insight and integration that is never ending. She shares how she certainly would never think that all the challenges of her life are behind her or that she is somehow "healed" of her pain, but that she is deeply invested in the process of learning how to live with a sense of connected ease and joy. This has informed her work as an educator and storyteller. Her career began with teaching yoga, a source from which she was able to find many tools for her own healing journey. She speaks to the reasons she has stepped back from teaching yoga full time, and into a role of greater community facilitation through programs like her upcoming 13 Moons Circle. And the part I enjoyed nodding along with the most was that we certainly cannot bypass past pain and trauma with positive thinking, or even rely per se on the tools that have worked in the past. It takes an on-going commitment to show up with humility and willingness to dive deep. All the better if you have a good community to have the real, gritty conversations with. In their final call of Season 1, Katherine and Farley remember piano lessons and consider the value of rituals for seasonal transitions. In a new segment, “A Penny for Your Thoughts,” they take on the big city ethical dilemma of encountering on-street fundraisers. Stay tuned for a mini-series for the holidays! I’m so excited to bring Natalie Rousseau back on my podcast for a conversation about allowing your business to evolve with you. She talks about her journey in transforming her offerings as a reflection of her growth and gives practical tips for those wanting to create online courses. We talk about how to deepen our connection with the moon, understanding astrology, self-care practices based on the lunar rhythms and how to integrate spiritual practices into our everyday life for a deeper understanding of ourselves and nature. This conversation was so empowering. Natalie shares about the hard decisions she had to make as a young mother so she could do the work she needed to do to be the amazing mother she knew she wanted to be. Her own path of recovery was filled with the wisdom of listening to the earth and her cycles. She now is a huge advocate of living a creative life with a daily practice that supports your own unique body, mind, heart and soul. Natalie has been a teacher, mentor and dear friend for many years and I love learning from her. She shares her tools and tips that she used to help her over the years which she still uses today. You can follow Natalie and find here at these locations. I highly recommend signing up for her Newsletter as it is always full of good information around personal practice and magic.
