Most novice ideology around food plotting and farming involves heavy tillage and pulverized soil. Following this, many believe a monoculture crop that is manicured similar to production agriculture is required to draw and attract wildlife. Did you ever stop and wonder, how did wildlife survive prior to man making things look "perfect"? The truth of the matter is, excessive tillage is not required to grow quality food plots and can be detrimental to your soil. So how do we shift our mindsets off of recreational plowing? This week on the Pennsylvania Woodsman, Mitch chat's with Al Tomechko from Vitalize seed company. Al has built his company around the foundation that better soil builds better wildlife. This is not achieved by any miracle juice, pixie dust, or magic bean planted from overseas. It's achieved by using plant species designed to cycle nutrients in the soil - the way the Great Plains were made over thousands of years. Al discusses how minimal soil disturbance, timely planting, and species management all aid in mining nutrients to the soil surface, making them plant available. The deer and wildlife don't care if the buffet you provide looks messy - a plethora of plants is preferred! Enjoy this soil health and food plotting discussion between two soil nerds, it might help you make better food plots! Self-described improv nerd (and renowned improv performer and teacher) Joe Bill talks shop with Kat and Livia. Be forewarned, there's a fair amount of inside baseball in this one--if you aren't an improviser you may scratch your head at some of the references to names or exercises, but these few improv-specific moments keep company with an abundance of stories, revelations, laughter, and a celebration of tears. An hour solidly packed with insight about our favorite topic: daring to be human. You can learn more about Joe on facebook at his page Joe Bill teaches

Mark Cockram is our guest this time and he has chosen his favourite Big Finish audio, The Kingmaker, for review. Mark is the host of the Nerdology podcast, a tranquil repose for Doctor Who podcasters wishing to take a break from the rigours of Doctor Who fandom. By listening to Nerdology you can enjoy such variations in pop culture as I, Claudius and The West Wing, and much, much more. The Kingmaker is number #81 in the Big Finish monthly range and was released in early 2006. Written by Nev Fountain, it features the first appearance of the 4th Doctor in a Big Finish play, voiced by the incredibly talented Jon Culshaw. We certainly went off on some tangents in this episode, even discussing the most popular documentary on Netflix at the moment, Tiger King. Be sure to check the Strangers in Space podcast, which Mark has appeared on from time to time. And we play the full version of The Mandolorian theme by Husky By The Geek, the musician behind the theme music we use for The Sirens of Audio. Be sure to leave your feedback as an audio clip at anchor.fm/sirensofaudio And you can contact us via the following: sirensofaudio@gmail.com sirensofaudio.com The Sirens of Audio @Twitter The Sirens of Audio @Facebook All clips and trailers are copyright Big Finish and the BBC.
