Yewwweee! Episode 49 is on the scene and we welcome the latest winner in the GXS Street Stock Series Marlin Yoder to the podcast. From humble beginnings on Amish Farms in Wisconsin, Yoder had to obtain a small AM/FM radio to listen NASCAR races in secret as this type of contraband was not allowed on the Amish Farm he lived on. At the age of 17, he left the farm and his family with nothing but the clothes on his back to enjoy a different type of lifestyle. Yoder eventually got to watch his first NASCAR race and that led to his first race in person at Wisconsin Dells where his passion for the sport was ignited. The hard work and limited resources from his Amish days led him to eventually working for Hendrick Motorsports serving on Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Larson's crew. While working in NASCAR country, he was able to get a street stock put together and that has led him to his current racing career at Tri County Speedway where he is leading the points. He also discusses how big his win was at Orange County in the GXS Street Stock Series and what he hopes the series will turn into.Daryn Cockram is no stranger to Pulaski County Motorsports Park victory lane. The veteran driver has had to overcome a vicious crash earlier this season in the Collision Plus Sportsman Division that sidelined him for a while. Cockram was recently cleared to return to racing and ended up winning this past weekend in both of the twin events at the track. Cockram tells about his recovery and how hard it was not being at the track. We reflect on his start in Mini Stocks at Franklin County Speedway and how his family involved in racing which is ever growing. We also discuss the news about Pulaski County Motorsports Park and the impact the potential closing will have locally and what racers and tracks could better improve on to help promote the tracks and the race cars. The boys discuss Michael McDowell's win at Indy and how much of an impact it made on the playoff bubble. The guys also give their picks for Watkins Glen and more analysis from the weekend!Bowman Gray Stadium wraps up their season and the points battles in several divisions are very close. The boys break down the championship scenarios. Big thanks to Justin Mincey for providing the break downs for us. The Solid Rock Carriers Cars Tour is fresh off their latest event at Ace Speedway which saw Carson Kvapil return to victory lane. They discuss Kvapil's return to victory lane and preview this weekend's Old North State Nationals from Tri County. All of this and more this week on DLN!

Chris tells some great new stories about working closely with David Gilmour and Nick Mason and gives a vivid sense of what became infamously known amongst the roadies as the “Veterans Tour”.We discuss increasing tension in the band, Roger and David's audio recordings, technical problems that almost led to catastrophic consequences, and the famous Montreal 1977 spitting incident. Hello and welcome to this special mid-week episode of TBR The valencia marathon was just over a week ago and saw a string of incredible times on the super flat and fast course. One of those was from Natasha Cockram who took a massive chunk out of her own welsh record of 2:30:03 by running a 2:26:14.  She missed the London marathon in October due to a covid hit training build. Her decision to toe the line in Spain has now jumped her from no 30 to no 6 in the all-time UK rankings. In this conversation, we break down the race, how leading into it she didn't have the best build-up, how he went off too quick and was worried about what might happen down the line and how it turned out to be one of those races when it all comes together. We look at her training, what lessons she's learnt from the previous marathon builds and so much more.  If you are interested in her coaching then head over to @run.to.become  If you want to join the discussion about the episode and help shape the future of the podcast then head over to our discord. She narrowly missed out on the Olympic qualification time in 2019, but is hopeful that the right race and the right conditions mean she will achieve the mark that will allow her to compete in Tokyo in 2021.This is Back On Track from Anything but Footy. What's it like to be a volunteer firefighter in New South Wales? Understorey reporter Adrian Glamorgan speaks with Paul Cockram, volunteer firey with the Mongarlowe, NSW, Rural Firefighter Service (RFS), in an interview recorded 14 January. We hear a little of what it might be like to head off to a fire, smell the smoke, hear the eucalypts crashing down as flames engulfs one tree after another, and work as a small team to prepare the backburn ahead. Australia's worst summer season of fire has meant some volunteers have contributed 60 days at a stretch, which is why there's now a payment system for volunteers who've worked more than ten. Australia part-compensates the volunteers who go out on a call, knowing the wrong conditions could make it the worst day of the firefighter's life. But the federal government's policy throws up anomalies: it means the richly salaried will receive compensation of up to $300 a day, and the Newstart or pension recipient with nothing. Part 3 in an ongoing series, to resume in a few weeks. (Photos supplied by P.Cockram)

Ep # 148 - My guest this week is Steve Cockram, an international speaker, author, and consultant to top-level executives and leaders around the world. Steve is dedicated to empowering the leader in everyone. He is a subject matter expert on personality and wiring, organizational leadership, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal communication. Steve is the co-founder of GiANT Worldwide, a global leadership consultancy. He is also co-author of the books 5 Gears and 5 Voices. He has worked with companies like Ford, Biogen, Chick Fila, Lockheed and the United States Air Force. He is the creator of the 5 Voices System which has helped clients experience the following results: Greater Self-Awareness: Learn your voice and understand what it’s like to be on the other side of your leadership. Better Alignment: Discover the sweet spots of those on your team, get better aligned, and reach higher levels of performance. Clear Communication: Communicate what you mean without people taking it the wrong way and getting offended. Effective Delegation: Delegate more effectively to save time and increase productivity. High Performance: Confidently build high-performing teams, rather than taking shots in the dark and hoping people do their jobs well. Quicker Decisions: Learn how to listen better, ask helpful questions, and make quicker decisions. Steve’s passion for leaders, team communication, change management and work/life balance is clearly echoed through his books, speaking and executive consulting. He is coach to a number of CEOs and is a sought after speaker both in the US and in his native UK. He inspires audiences to create better organizations through his heart-level stories, use of humor and expertise in human interactions. Cockram's leadership and management models have widespread appeal in large part due to the multiplication effect – rather than just the leader being transformed, they provide a framework for spreading this transformation throughout organization through ‘intentional apprenticeship’. Steve has been married to Helen for 24 years, during which time they have lived in 12 different houses on two continents. They are now living back in the UK in Gerrards Cross, London with their three girls. This has helped him with his moderate addiction to Liverpool soccer (or football, in his case).  Enjoy this interview with the brilliant and highly accomplished Steve Cockram. There's a ton to learn from Steve's experience in the fields of leadership and entrepreneurship. Listen back to RACE22 Radio episode 15 from Monday, April 22, 2019, as the crew was joined by Daryn Cockram. Cockram makes his first start out of the Lee Pulliam Performance stables this Saturday at Motor Mile Speedway. For Cockram, it's a return to his home track which was shuttered for the 2018 season and is looking for a big return this season. Cockram tells some old tales from back in the day at his other home track of Franklin County Speedway as well as breaking news (accidentally) that he got engaged recently. Needless to say, it was a good time had by all during this two and half hour show. RACE22 Radio hosts Langley Austin, Roger Johnson, and Corey Latham also talked about a myriad of topics including the Southern National announcement on the free pit passes and tires and Kres VanDyke's departure from Kingsport Speedway in hopes of winning the Motor Mile Speedway championship.

Julia Cockram is a campaigner for Greyhound Welfare, a Gambling Industry critic and operates as the Behavior Coordinator within the organisation 'Gumtree Greys', a not-for-profit group whose work attempts to rescue and re-home Greyhounds rejected from the industry. For more information about adoption or their cause, go to https://www.gumtreegreys.com.au/. "Who gambles? It's the people that can't afford to do it. Promoting Greyhound Racing is morally reprehensible". In this episode of the podcast, Julia discusses the realities surrounding the Greyhound Racing Industry, exposing some of the facts that are often hidden behind closed doors. She talks about some of the cruelty these animals are subjected to, explaining how the laws do not protect Greyhounds in the same way they do for other animals. Julia also explores the role corruption has to play in the gambling system, coming in the form of altered and hidden statistics that attempt to shelter the truths of the sport, in-turn protecting the large amount of tax revenue that gambling produces. Finally, Konner and Julia chat about gambling as a whole. Specifically, who is at risk, some of the potentially negative ramifications of gambling addiction, as well as things that can be done to alter the state of the industry.

We've hit our quarter century. We probably won't make 50 and deff not a ton so its a premature bat raised to the dressing room, helmets off and kiss the badge (Apples this is a cricket reference). In this 90 minutes of nonsense our 5 guys work as a 4 with a one in one out policy. Baby names are the hot topic with the amazing news of a heir to the Cockram throne is announced. Discussion on Traditional British Supermarket Layout has been overlooked in Brexit debates, but we've got it covered. Some terrible jokes about the bobsleigh thrown in for good measure, not sure how those made the edit. Youth slang with dodgy accents. Film of the Week is Baywatch. Phil off to the airport this week and does an Ant Mcpartlan. And we all end up naked in the end. Enjoy podcats!
