Apparently, we have the RIGHT STUFF because world famous New Kids on the Block vocalist and founding member Joey McIntyre decided to FACE THE MUSIC and join us in studio. We controlled our fanboy tendencies and took it STEP BY STEP talking about his storied career, we considered Phil Braun's audition as a sixth New Kid and heard from fired up C&C Music Factory founder Freedom Williams regarding his upcoming appearance at The Great American State Fair. This week on America's Podcast, we dive headfirst into the sun-soaked, slightly shady, totally legendary world of California as we review one of the greatest bands and albums of all time—Eagles and their iconic Hotel California. Yeah, yeah… we know there's always that guy who says he doesn't like them, but we're putting it all on the table. No spoilers—just vibes, opinions, and probably a few “wait… this song rules” moments. We've got Free Form family members Travis Perrotta and Andy Rodriguez joining us, so you know things are gonna get interesting. We'll light up some “colitas,” try to stab it with our steely knives (results may vary), and maybe take a ride down Life in the Fast Lane… all without spoiling the verdict.

A promising new treatment is changing the landscape for advanced prostate cancer. In this episode, Dr. Bill Evans is joined by Dr. Ali Khan Lalani, Associate professor, McMaster University GU disease site team chair, Juravinski Cancer Centre, and Anne Khoorshed, Radiation Safety Officer, Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, to explore radioligand therapy (Pluvicto), an innovative targeted treatment now available in Hamilton. They break down how this “smart bomb” approach works, who may be eligible, what patients can expect, and why this advancement is bringing new hope to men with advanced prostate cancer. From improved quality of life to exciting future research, this conversation offers an accessible look at one of cancer care's most promising emerging therapies.
Could the "weight-loss shots" everyone is talking about actually be the next big breakthrough in cancer prevention? In this week's episode of the FMI podcast, I'm joined once again by our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mark Holthouse. While Dr. H is a world-renowned expert in hormone health and cardiometabolic medicine, today we are diving into a topic that is reshaping the future of longevity: the direct link between obesity-related cancers and GLP-1 medications. We recently learned that colon cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death for men and women under 50. It's a sobering statistic, but there is hope in the evolving science of metabolic medicine. In this episode, we discuss: The "Four Horsemen" of Aging: Why cardiovascular disease, cancer, dementia, and insulin resistance are all driven by the same cellular pathways. GLP-1s Beyond Weight Loss: How medications like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide work at the cellular level to potentially reduce tumor volume and progression. The "New Kid on the Block": A deep dive into Retatrutide, the experimental triple-agonist showing even more dramatic results in preclinical models. Obesity-Related Cancers: Why fatty liver, chronic inflammation, and nutrient-sensing pathways (like mTOR) create a "pro-cancer milieu." The "Foundational Four": Why, despite all the medical breakthroughs, sleep, clean eating, stress management, and exercise remain the ultimate levers for health. Dr. Holthouse also shares his "minimalist" approach to detoxification and why he's more interested in "reining patients in" from expensive gadgets to focus on what actually moves the needle. Whether you are interested in the latest longevity science or simply looking for ways to lower your family's risk of chronic disease, this conversation is packed with "root cause" insights you won't want to miss.

Hawkins, Indiana never stays quiet for long, and in the dead of winter 1985, it's already getting weird again. Darrell and Addi are diving headfirst into Stranger Things: Tales From '85, the brand-new animated spinoff from the Duffer Brothers and showrunner Eric Robles, set between the events of Seasons 2 and 3 of the original series. In this premiere episode, the gang's innocent plan to shovel snow for some extra cash gets derailed fast when a surprising new threat rears its head, and a mysterious cool new kid steps into the picture, pulling Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Max, Will, and Lucas closer to something they probably should have been running from. In this episode, Darrell and Addi break down everything that makes this animated premiere tick. They start with the chilling cold open that wastes no time pulling you back into the eerie atmosphere of Hawkins, then move into the fresh voice cast stepping into iconic roles (Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Luca Diaz as Mike, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, and more). They dig into what it means to revisit these beloved characters as younger versions of themselves, unpack the interdimensional threat already bubbling beneath the surface of this snowbound small town, and weigh in on the spinoff's tone, animation style, and whether Tales From '85 captures the magic of the original. Trump blockades a blockade. The world holds its breath: will the Iranians blockade the blockade of the blockade? Are we destined for battleship Tetris piling up in the Gulf? Or is this just one more instance of the real war being the PR one? Then, with his Fidesz party reduced to a rump, what happens when the lynchpin of anti-Brussels energy falls out? The EU threw everything at Orbán, and it has paid off handsomely. Ursula von der Leyen clearly had her speech about moving to qualified majority voting written before the polls closed. Beyond a cost of living election in a landlocked medium-sized country, this is a story about the future of the EU. (multipolaritypod.substack.com)We've run into a small issue, in that lately, a few people have been signing up on Substack, with the intent of getting the premium episodes of the podcast - which have so far been exclusive to Patreon. So we've decided to take the premium podcast to Substack, and bundle it with a new range of articles we're in the process of producing. The deal is this - The Substack will be $12 a month - that will get you the podcast and then various paywalled articles on top. We're not paywalling the Substack yet - all the pieces you can presently read are free of charge - but we have plans to start gating the odd piece. And as we said, we will gate the premium podcast on Substack. Of course, if you're an existing subscriber, you can do whatever you like - Patreon, or Substack. The one gives you the pod only. The other will give you both. Obviously, your price won't change unless you change platforms. So there's no need to do anything.

The Healthtech Marketing Podcast presented by HIMSS and healthlaunchpad
Brand has become the B-word in our industry. It's almost viewed as a dirty word in certain C-Suites and marketing leaders bring it up at their peril. But let's face it, without a strong brand, your sales are going nowhere. And this is especially the case in healthcare technology, where buyers have favorites and start a 13+ month buyer journey with a shortlist in mind.In this episode, I sit down again with my friend and healthtech marketing leader, Lea Chatham, to unpack what it takes to create and build a strong brand. We discuss what it really takes to build a brand in the white-hot ambient AI/clinical scribe space. We start with the reality that large buying groups are overwhelmed with noise, and increasingly turn to a few trusted sources to quietly shortlist the top two or three vendors before they ever talk to sales. If you're not consistently showing up with credibility in those channels, you may never even make the long list, let alone the shortlist. Lea and I then dive into the specific brand challenges she's taken on at Heidi Health. Heidi began as a bottom-up, product-led, physician-led company with a very “sign up free and try it” feel. Lea walks through how they've repositioned Heidi to a broader “AI care partner” that can sit beside any clinician across organizations of all sizes, while still staying obsessed with physician experience and adoption. We also explore the broader competitive landscape in ambient AI. Lea describes two main camps: solutions tightly embedded in the EHR, and “untethered” scribes where integration is the last step rather than the first. From there we zoom out into brand strategy and execution. We talk about the constant push to create “branded demand,” where every brand investment also drives pipeline, and every demand gen motion reinforces the brand. Lea explains that you can't build a serious brand in this market purely organically. You have to spend selectively, like picking a few big bets (like going big with CHIME, co-authoring an award submission with marquee enterprise customers, or key analyst relationships) that can create outsized visibility and credibility quickly while your broader organic engine spins up. Key Topics Covered:"(00:00)" Setting the Stage: Ambient AI “Land Grab” & Buying Groups"(03:10)" Heidi as the “New Kid” & the Enterprise Brand Barrier"(06:20)" Measuring Brand Without a Six-Figure Budget"(10:20)" Mapping the Ambient AI Landscape & Heidi's Positioning"(16:20)" Global Brand, Local Markets: From Scribe to “AI Care Partner”"(19:30)" Tailoring Messaging for Personas, ICPs & Regions"(25:10)" Brand Consistency, Naming, and Product Architecture"(30:10)" Building the Heidi Brand in the US: Tactics & “Branded Demand”"(35:40)" Adapting SEO for the AI & Prompt Era"(38:00)" Final Advice: Strategic Spend & Big Bets (CHIME Case Study)If you are interested in discussing this or any other topic, let's have a chat. Revealing, insightful, necessary, candid conversation with the incomparable Jerry Craft, NYT bestselling author of the groundbreaking book New Kid.* Craft is the ONLY PERSON IN THE HISTORY OF EVER to have a book win the:Newbery Medal, the Coretta Scott King Author Award, and the Kirkus Prize for Young Readers' Literature* New Kid was the FIRST graphic novel to receive the prestigious Newbery Medal* New Kid is billed as a book for middle grade readers (ages 8 - 12, grades 3 - 7) however it is just as riveting and important a read FOR ADULTS An actual middle schooler, KJ Fletcher got to join his mom, host and producer Samantha Fletcher for this one of a kind opportunity. They caught up with the multi-talented and in-demand busy author, illustrator and all around wise guy – literally for his wisdom as well as his wit – Jerry Craft.Craft graciously answers 10 questions -- plus a few more because the host Samantha can't allow a good dig-in or follow up question to pass -- and shares why he wrote the book, why it's great for young people, AND why it is an ASSET and a MUST-READ for GROWNUPS, too.WHAT IS NEW KID ABOUT? Described as "heartbreakingly accurate" by Kirkus, here is an AI overview summary: "New Kid is a graphic novel by Jerry Craft about a Black seventh grader named Jordan Banks who is one of the few students of color at a prestigious, mostly-white private school. The book follows Jordan as he navigates this new environment, torn between his familiar Washington Heights neighborhood and the new school's culture, exploring themes like microaggressions, racism, and socioeconomic disparity. It's a coming-of-age story about making friends, fitting in, and staying true to himself while dealing with the challenges of being a new student from a different background."WHY KIRKUS CHOSE THIS AS ITS WINNER: "Kirkus chose Jerry Craft's New Kid for its honest portrayal of being a Black student in a predominantly white private school, handling race, class, and microaggressions with humor and a relatable protagonist. The graphic novel was praised for its "heartbreakingly accurate" and "funny, sharp, and totally real" story that allows readers to see themselves in a narrative that isn't based on "misery" or historical hardship, but instead on the everyday experiences of a young person navigating identity and belonging. Kirkus specifically highlighted how the book combined a middle-grade narrative with important social commentary, using the protagonist's art to visualize his dual worlds."www.samanthafletcher.comhttps://jerrycraft.com/https://creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/dailybordercrossings/ https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/daily-border-crossings/id1517113315

Kimberly Gold joins Nick in Studio 809 to talk about being a new city councilor! That's right, alongside Brandy Williams, Tom Bailey and Roland Rainey Jr., Gold is one of this city's newest legislators. She represents the city's district 4, which encompasses the southeast area of town, including the airport, that has been historically underrepresented and aching for economic development. She successfully ran to replace previous representative Yolanda Avila, who was a fierce proponent for the district and is now running for an El Paso County commissioner seat.Thomas Jefferson did have a recipe for ice cream and apparently popularized the French creation (or at least, that's where he got his recipe from), but he didn't invent it. What does it take to start over in a new place? The Stern siblings—Yakov (10), Rina (8), and Toby (5)—know firsthand, having just moved from Miami Beach, Florida to Manchester, New Jersey less than a week before our conversation. Their honest reflections reveal the complex emotions of leaving behind everything familiar: excitement about living closer to extended family, sadness about missing friends, and nervousness about fitting in at a new school. Each child approaches this transition differently. Yakov proactively seeks out future classmates, gathering intelligence about his new school. Rina worries about being included in games and conversations. Toby packed a framed photo of her and her friend to keep memories close. Their differing approaches remind us that personality, age, and individual resilience all shape how children navigate life changes.Social worker Avi Kohn, LMSW offers transformative wisdom about transitions, introducing the crucial distinction between confidence and courage. "Confidence comes from experience," he explains, "but courage is what we call upon when we have no confidence yet." This powerful framework helps children understand that feeling uncertain doesn't mean they're doing something wrong—it means they're facing a situation that requires bravery rather than prior experience.Rabbi Kohn shares practical strategies for both newcomers and those welcoming them. For new children: take initiative rather than waiting for others, be prepared for adjustment to take months rather than days, and respond to potential unkindness with kindness. For welcoming students: remember the mitzvah of being kind to newcomers, recognize that small acts of inclusion can have lasting impacts, and understand that differences may initially feel scary but offer opportunities for growth.Whether your child is starting kindergarten, moving to a new community, or joining a new activity, this episode provides the emotional vocabulary and practical tools to transform challenging transitions into opportunities for developing resilience.
