"Boys Talking" Yes, it's true that Will Dailey's seventh album, Boys Talking is not technically out. I mean, it is and it isn't. Hold that thought because we're going to circle back to it. The Boston-born Will Dailey is one of the most affecting, soulful and moving singers you'll ever hear. His back catalog, which features records like Goodbye Red Bullet, National Throat, Golden Walker and his new one Boys Talking, is a perfect discography that filled with rootsy soul, road-kissed Americana and wrenching ballads that make you miss everyone you ever lost. Will's resume' is a winning read: he's signed to a major label, played with Juliana Hatfield, Peter Buck and Eddie Vedder, opened for The Wallflowers, received endless critical acclaim and played the Folk, Americana, and Roots Hall of Fame induction ceremony, paying tribute to the late Richie Havens. Will Dailey is the real deal--a singer with tremendous range and poetic prowess and if you want to classify him as one of the best kept secrets in music, that's fine, but he's one secret that shouldn't be kept. So what's the story with Boys Talking? Is it out? Yes and no. You can't find it on any streaming service, but you can buy it from Will at his website. And as he innovates further against the current digital model, another move he's made is to record a song that only you will hear--give him ten bucks and you get a song you can only listen to once. Art is valuable and Will Dailey's creativity in how to distribute art is reminding us of its joy, its dynamism and that it's not something to be thrown around or thrown away. www.willdailey.com www.bombshellradio.com (http://www.bombshellradio.com) www.stereoembersmagazine.com www.alexgreenbooks.com (http://www.alexgreenbooks.com) Stereo Embers The Podcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com (mailto:editor@stereoembersmagazine.com) IG + BLUESKY: @emberspodcast
This week Ken welcomes fellow Bostonian, and singer songwriter, Will Dailey to the show. Ken and Will discuss being gross, growing up in Boston, touring, staying in Boston, how massive the United States is, not just wanting numbers and followers, wanting to make art, Boys Talking, not releasing an album, doing it for the art, playing live, journey with no destination, The $10 Song, catharsis, feeding off of feedback, pure intentions, having your music used on television, The Good Wife, being on CSI, having Gary Sinise play bass for you on TV, how art is being a chef, how hearing yourself in something takes you out of it, realizing you were learning a formula and breaking the cycle, trying to avoid mediocrity, hanging out, not over producing, how the 20th Century is a Rennisance of human beings recording themselves, what we do next, gatekeepers, toxic nostalgia, hating Blockbuster, the incredible music talent in Boston, Juliana Hatfield, Bill Janovitz, how for some people sometimes it's never enough, how there is no finish line, how COVID changed everything, The Good Fight, "Previously On...", getting targeted ads for guitars, SNL, loving the 21st Century SNL, not wanting to hear the same classic rock songs in everything, Joe Pera Talks with You, Will McRobb's "Funny, Strange, Sad and Beautiful" philosophy, living in a world without shared experiences, and wanting all shows to end with Perfume Genius.

TODAY! Today, we kick off Summer 2025's "Crusaders Charge into Summer Reading" campaign with Pastor Aaron Dailey who serves as the Director of Community Involvement for Grace Based Families, a powerfully effective ministry established by Dr. Tim Kimmel, the author of this summer's book. For over twenty year, Aaron has worked in inner city Phoenix with individuals and families that are unreached and under-resourced. His ministry reaches beyond ethnicity or economics as that God has uniquely positioned him to lead within contexts where family-strengthening resources and Biblical discipleship are deeply needed. Today, Aaron sets the stage for what will be a powerful series for Summer 2025.Crusaders Charge into Summer Reading is Northwest Christian's annual summer reading campaign. During the summer of 2025, we're jumping -- with both feet! -- into Tim Kimmel's "Raising Kids for True Greatness - Redefining Success for Your Child". Throughout Summer 2025, swing by the school's offices to pick up a free copy and join us!Both feet? Yes! The school's two podcasts -- Kingdom Culture Conversations and Off the Page -- are each working through the book all summer. On Off the Page, Geoff and G are working through the book chapter-by-chapter, taking a deep dive into the ideas, concepts, and principles that will help us all, as parents, to reframe how we approach raising our kids. Then, on Kingdom Culture Conversations, we are spending time with the "Top 10" list found at the conclusion of each chapter within the book. Specifically, we are putting those lists in front of members of the NCS faculty and community that might be able to offer insights based on their role in the school."Kingdom Culture Conversations" is a podcast created through Frameworks, a Biblical worldview initiative of Northwest Christian School. For more information on Frameworks, please visit: https://frameworks.ncsaz.org/For more information on Northwest Christian School, visit: https://www.ncsaz.org/To reach out to Geoff Brown, please email gbrown@ncsaz.org or you can reach him by cell phone: (623)225-5573.

Readiness is the ability to close with and destroy any enemy, anywhere, anytime. The role of the Sergeant Major of the Army is to ensure readiness. Command Sergeant Major Dan Dailey was the 15th Sergeant Major of the Army and the youngest Soldier to ever hold the position. Today, he is the Vice President of Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier Programs at the Association of the United States Army.SMA Dailey joined Creator and Host Fran Racioppi to define what it really means for the United States Army to be “ready” to fight and win our nation's wars. To do so, they went deep on each of the components of readiness, including: Manning and the impacts of the recruiting crisis the Army has endured over the past several years. Training and the importance of the Combat Training Centers and our combined exercises across the components and with our allies.Equipping for the next fight and why the current procurement processes must change if America expects to remain ahead in the innovation race.Leader Development including why softening the messaging of warfighting hurts mission focus and how the Army is closing the experience gap as the Global War on Terror generation of Soldiers retire. They also cover the important mission of the Association of the United States Army and how as the largest organization supporting our Soldiers their work only continues to grow.
