He has been involved in apologetics ministry for over 3 decades and is a charter member of the International Society of Christian Apologetics. He is also a staff researcher and writer for the Midwest Outreach Journal. What comes to mind when you hear the word "paganism"? For some your mind may travel back to Biblical times when Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal and Ashtoreth on Mount Carmel. Others may think of the early Roman empire who followed polytheism. It may take you to the Middle Ages or it may make you think of practices that are void of knowledge of the one true God which happen in remote villages around the world. But did you know Paganism is running rampant right now in 2025 in the United States? There are those who celebrate Pagan Pride Day with events taking place in cities across the country.Specifically there is an annual event called Paganicon where pagans from all over converge. The most recent Paganicon was held in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. Our guest attended Paganicon 2025 last month and is here today with a report.

We are re-releasing this episode as we lost the newer episode we recorded at Denver Pagan Pride! Enjoy this blast from the past! Recorded before a live audience at a VERY rainy Pagan Pride Day at Oaks Park in Portland, OR. We answer questions from audience members and listeners. Questions include: how to find Witchcraft community, how to find a group, what to do when you don't feel particularly Magickal, suggested resources for intermediate-advanced Witches, and the possibility that certain well-meaning Ancestors might be standing in your Witchy way. Plus, rituals with Kanani's kids, Hilary's record plant purchase, and the time Courtney ate soap at a Pagan Pride event. On Patreon: Ad-free version of this episode. Nashville is known as the Buckle on the Bible Belt. However, the city is home to a diversity of religions and traditions, including paganism. In today's episode, we're joined by a pair of community leaders to learn more about Pagan Pride Day and what it means to be pagan in a traditionally Christian area. Then, we'll hear from solo practitioners about how they found paganism, and how they discuss their spirituality with their family and friends. But first, WPLN's political and criminal justice reporters fill us in on their interview with Tennessee's new Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti. Guests: Blaise Gainey, WPLN political reporter Paige Pfleger, WPLN criminal justice reporter Lucy Jameson, Wiccan and coordinator of Nashville Pagan Pride Day Deb Moore, Interfaith Minister of Unity of Music City Harmonie Dingui, solitary witch and former evangelical Christian Addie Lopshire-Bratt, raised and practicing Wiccan
I first met Giulia over 10 years ago in Rome, at the yearly Pagan Pride Day celebration. Ultra alcoholic mead was involved, apparently. Over the years we kept in touch through the internet and in this episode we discuss her tradition, the Temple of Ara, the intersection between witchcraft and shamanism, and the dangerous fascination with everything "Catholic" that plagues today's occulture. _ Find Giulia: http://www.boscodiartemisia.com Find Marco: http://www.marcovisconti.org _ WHO'S OUR GUEST TONIGHT? Here's how she describes herself: I am a contemporary witch, Priestess and Teacher in the Ara Tradition. I graduated with honors in Classical Letters and Archaeology and Cultures of the Ancient World from Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. My personal path focuses on the practice of witchcraft as an indigenous form of shamanism and aims to rediscover and rebuild the Sacred Net that binds us to the Spirits and the Gods of the place we live in. As a researcher of European witchcraft and magic in the Ancient World, I have participated to many conferences and events, both national and international. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/marcovisconti/message

Last weekend we had our first event booth at Pagan Pride LA/OC. It was a great experience for us to meet with listeners, fellow podcasters, and to introduce our show to many in the area that had not yet heard of us. The day was warm, the breeze was cool, and our booth was busy! About Pagan Pride LA/OC: Pagan Pride Los Angeles, Inc. is an outgrowth of the International Pagan Pride Project, a non-profit organization that sponsors annual Pagan Pride Day celebrations in cities around the world during the months of August to November. Their goal, and our goal, is to promote tolerance and understanding of Pagans within the general community. Each individual event is coordinated and executed by local residents of the region.
