The renewable energy sector is a major growth opportunity for the insurance industry but the loss experience has been challenging. This was underlined last month by another major battery fire at the Moss Landing complex in California, which will cost insurers hundreds of millions of dollars. According to Nardac CEO Jatin Sharma, the event has shaken the confidence of the underwriting community. Underwriters have already moved to sub-limit certain perils, and this is making the investment landscape for renewable energy projects problematic. However, addressing this capacity shortfall represents an opportunity, and the renewables industry is still booming in the heartlands of the US . Plus, Insurance Insider's Rebecca Perkins explains the insurance implications of several tragic plane crashes.

Episode 81 with Rebecca Perkins. "I can take demands all the time, but if someone asks in just slightly the wrong way, my brain is like, 'Nope, I won't do it.'" Rebecca is a neurodiverse speaker, writer, and educator based outside of Melbourne, Australia. She is the CEO and founder of My Spirited Child, an advocacy hub that provides strategies and support to parents, carers and educators of neurodivergent children, and to neurodivergent adults themselves. She also co-founded the National PEKE Centre, a resource center for neurodivergent families with individualized treatment plans, therapies and services located in Cranbourne, Australia. The center is an absolute dream for anyone who finds the diagnosis and treatment process to be overwhelming and confusing (which is basically all of us, right?).  Rebecca and I talk all about our own difficulties in school as undiagnosed children, how the education system fails neurodiverse children, which is ultimately what led her to start advocating for her own neurodiverse kids. We also discuss why so many of us think we're failures even though we're often achieving at Energizer-bunny levels. We also talk about demand avoidance in relation to Autism and ADHD, and why it's chronically misunderstood and misdiagnosed in so many neurodivergent children. And Rebecca gives one of my favorite answers yet for renaming ADHD, so stick with us to hear that later in this episode! Rebecca is doing amazing work in Australia — she was recently a speaker at the Victorian ADHD Conference, which was a massive success. She'll be appearing next at the Queensland ADHD Conference coming up on May 14th at the Unidus Conference Centre. Episode #36: Mourning Ruth Bader Ginsburg - What Will Be Our Feminist Future? In today's episode we will be discussing “Mourning Ruth Bader Ginsburg - What Will Be Our Feminist Future” with three incredible changemakers, who each have a unique perspective for us to consider. Join Laurie Benson, Rebecca Perkins and Mary Katherine Morales as we take a deep dive into this timely topic. Here's some background on the guests with us in roundtable today: Laurie Benson, - Laurie was recently introduced as a Voice for the Voiceless and the title stuck. She has dedicated her life to opening doors to reconnection with ourselves, each other, and all living beings. The question, “What story, or deep wisdom, is living inside of you ready to be shared?” guides her work. Focused on embodiment and the sharing of stories, Laurie believes these two paths lead us to our deepest inner truths, and create a path forward toward unity and compassion. Rebecca Perkins - Rebecca is a powerful and intuitive coach supporting women in midlife. In the past two years her work has focussed on wellbeing and resilience. She has published a book with her daughter called: Recovery from Within: a mother and daughter's journey through anorexia shares the understanding that beneath the surface we all have wellbeing, and that when this is understood full recovery is possible. Her expertise lies in guiding clients to discover the freedom to have their own insights for lasting change. Mary Katherine Morales - also known as MK, is an accomplished university fundraiser, author, speaker, and certified corporate trainer. CEO and Founder of Women Of Principle, she is a visionary leader. Her professional gifts for engaging community leaders and creating high performance cultures are evident in her mission to empower and inspire a community of women to rise to their own call, and courageously embrace their transformation journey to divine significance. Listen in to our thought-provoking conversation as we discuss the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, how she touched our lives and what it means for the future of women. We talked through the future of humanity, the relationship between the masculine and feminine and the potential of women across the world. We discussed our frustrations, our rage and our hope. There were tears and laughter from these amazingly thoughtful and empowering women. If you are a woman, or you know a woman, (yes that means you!) you need to listen in to this transformational conversation to hear our stories, of the things that have shaped us and continue to. An enormously insightful and entertaining conversation - I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! A huge, heartfelt thank you to my guests!
