Today's episode is the first one this season told from the spouses perspective... and Allyson is such a special spouse to her husband Evan. From misdiagnosis of adult onset ADHD to the final diagnosis of FTD was a long, long journey. But Allyson's love for Evan shines throughout. This is 2022 and for whatever reason I'm having some time at my hands so I'm remastering the old episodes. This means re-inserting all the music taken from proper sources and other minor tweaks to make it sound better. The original music was just recorded as played in the room from some shitty PC speakers. I went into the master and put the tracks in properly. I also tweaked some other parameters of the audio and converted it to mono as should always be the case for podcasts. The original ep was uploaded in 2015. For this one in particular I'd like to mention that the new show is longer than the original cut because I included the tracks in their entirety without voice-over first before following this up with the version from the original recording since we apparently used to talk over the music in 2015 which was dropped in later episodes and I wanted to present both the original track in pure form and the voice-over one. Also there is a bonus early surprise visit by JS (the old c) during the Dracula track from Quantum Leap! Here is the original description: Broken Chair Scores Episode 8 is only 10 minutes longer than we planned it to be but this way you get two oldschoolers talk browsers, music streaming services and the fact that you can actually buy mp3-files legally. Further (and way more interesting IMHO) we review our favorite tracks from one film and one game soundtrack. In this episode we talk about the soundtrack to the 2013 Capcom game "Remember Me" written by Olivier Derivière as well as the soundtrack to the NBC television show "Quantum Leap" written by Mike Post and Velton Ray Bunch. If you want to support us you can always write a comment here. This would be highly appreciated. If you're interested in a more relaxed podcast about mostly (city-) building game soundtracks for the PC (think Anno, Settlers, Tycoons from the 90's and onwards) then check out Aufbaumusik. Enjoy!

This story, told by Shay, beautifully outlines the devastation FTD (or Pick's disease, as she refers to it) causes. Shay was in elementary school when her sweet mom, Mrs. Hast began to exhibit symptoms. The journey is full of tenderness and pain and Shay so eloquently describes the dance between the two. The story unfolds but the rawness continues. Shay takes us through darkness and hurt but also shares such a beautiful relationship she had with her mother. Mrs. Hast won our hearts and so has her sweet daughter, Shay. We are excited to share our first story of our new season - as we feel deeply connected to all its parts. Thanks for your openness, Shay. Our much anticipated interview with singer-songwriter, and wonderful human being, Parker McKay. Parker won over the hearts of many this fall as a contestant on NBC's The Voice, where she was chosen to be a member of Kelly Clarkson's team. Parker revealed on the show that weeks before leaving for taping, her mother Tracey had died from complications of Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) at age 57. We feel so fortunate that Parker wanted to join us to tell more of her story - and share more about who her mother Tracey was before FTD. Parker is just as she appears on TV - kind, charming, genuine… and her love for her mother Tracey beautifully shines through in this episode. We can't wait to have our new BFF Parker back in the future as we know she is going to continue to be an amazing advocate for this disease. This week, we chat with Shari about her mother's relatively new diagnosis of Primary Progressive Aphasia and Vascular Dementia. Shari is SO open about her feelings during this journey - the frustration, the guilt, and the grief...and ugh, we love it when people are just so vulnerable and honest... because we know it helps all of you (and it helps us too!). One of the biggest things we took away from this interview was Shari's amazing ability to just let her mom be. Dementia can make people have odd behaviors and it's very easy to want to correct them or get embarrassed - but Shari just seems to meet Linda where she's at and accept her and go with the flow. It's beautiful and inspiring! At the end of the episode we learn all about fiercely independent, talented artist, Linda. Thank you to Shari for sharing her with us. This week, we proudly present an interview with Lauren Miller Rogen, Filmmaker, Alzheimers Advocate, co-founder of HFC, and now friend of Remember Me. Lauren openly shares her mother Adele's journey with early onset Alzheimers disease... and she shares the journey with such honesty, vulnerability and love. She talks about what it was like to try and start her life in Los Angeles while her conflicted heart wanted to be back in Florida with her mom - a feeling many of us know all too well. And of course, we talk all about her incredible mom - who she was before the disease - an amazing teacher and mother. This conversation was so relatable - the feelings, the heartache, it is all the same to what we felt with our own parents... and Lauren did an amazing job of showing us her accept the good outlook - creating a beautiful community and incredible resources through HFC. Below, you'll find a link to our blog post with some great resources from HFC that we think you should check out ASAP: 5 HFC Resources You Should Check Out Now Thank you to Lauren (and to Seth) for the amazing work they are doing for this community.
