All 30 NBA teams are ranked by tier in this episode of the Kevin O'Connor Show. Heading into All-Star Weekend, which FOUR teams are "The Favorites" according to Kevin (and who's #1)? Which 3 teams does KOC view as "Contender...ish?" Next up, there's the "RESPECT YOUR ELDERS" category, the "SOMETHING IS MISSING" bucket, and then the dreaded "GRIPPING THE ELECTRICAL CORD" tier. Rounding out the rest of the league: the "League Pass Darlings" and unfortunately, the bottom tier: "POOP FOR COOPER" Flagg. All 30 teams fit into one of those categories, and KOC ranks them ALL here.Plus Tom Haberstroh stops by for an unexpectedly HEATED debate about "Old Man Chris Paul!" Why KOC thinks the San Antonio Spurs are tanking in broad daylight, why the Philadelphia 76ers' Paul George looks like "Khris Middleton but with $100 Million owed to him" and how Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic are playing some of the best 2-man basketball the NBA has EVER SEEN.(00:35) - Poop for Cooper tier(9:00) - League Pass darlings tier(15:05) - Gripping the electrical cord tier(18:30) - Something's missing tier(23:35) - Respect your elders tier(26:20) - Contender-ish tier(30:55) - The favorites tier(38:20) - Buy Denver as a legit contender?(49:55) - Donovan Clingan sleeper for ROTY?(52:20) - Are the Spurs quiet tanking?(57:20) - Concern for Los Angeles Lakers in loss to Utah?(1:04:30) - Bol Bol surging(1:06:50) - Any hope left for the 76ers?
The discussion starts with WoW news, especially the three-kids-in-a-trenchcoat that is Classic, and how it's once again time to respect your Elders with the Lunar Festival returning this week. They turned to Diablo's seasonal scheduling, and how it may or may not be under the influence. Who's to judge. Then, the crew hit on Overwatch 2, and how a whole lot of the new stuff introduced this midseason banks on that “uphill both ways” style nostalgia. We'd say it was also “in the snow” but Joe rather vociferously nixed that topic during the preshow. The Q&A portion of the show was supplied mostly by staff member Cory. There's just no denying fashion, we suppose. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Pastor Taylor Shippy - Exodus 20:12; Leviticus 19:3; Proverbs 23:22-25; Ephesians 6:1-4; Colossians 3:20-21 Perhaps you've familiar with the prevailing theory that the Ten Commandments can be neatly divided between the first four and the remaining six? That as you make your way down the ‘Big Ten' there is a momentum shift part way through where the language seems to pivot from talking about our relationship with God to talking about our relationships with our neighbor. If that's the case, what better ‘neighbor' to start with than with the ‘neighbors' who produced us… The first neighbors, most of us, ever knew… Our parents. This morning we're exploring and talking about the first humans we are meant to honor: our parents.

It's disgraceful and sinful the way that many churches and church members treat those whom the Lord has given to them to oversee their spiritual care and development. The Bible is clear as to how a church is to treat those who have oversight of their spiritual lives.
The show starts with an introduction to Troy Bolton and his background as a financial planner, then Alan joins him to discuss estate and legacy planning and the kinds of things someone needs to know when adding this to their retirement plan.
In this episode, we discuss a recent controversy regarding paying respects to our elders and specifically the way respect is demanded in the Nigerian culture. While we believe those who came before us should be honoured and given their flowers, sometimes it's used as a tool for the oppression of young people. There is so much to unpack, let us know if you want a part 2!! Enjoy!!! Please rate the podcast, it helps us a lot :) --- Thanks for listening. It's hard to overestimate the value of a supportive upbringing. An upbringing that teaches children the essential value of respect. When missing, as generally we see in today's society, the consequences are disastrous - for generations to come. In this episode we explore the impact of upbringing on a personal and societal level, and reflect on the effect that the technological revolution has had on our kids. Balakhilya looks back at his own childhood, a time when life was simpler, without the constant distraction of cell phones and excessive technology use. With this as an example, we uncover the essential values and principles that guided previous generations, such as how to bring up a child promoting respect for authority and a sense of belonging. Join us as we delve into the various challenges of raising kids in a materialistic society, reflect on the lessons we can learn, and establish the changes needed for a brighter future. Highlights: (6:43) Parents in the past taught values, morals, and spirituality to their children, leading to a more disciplined and spiritually evolved society. The negative impact of modern technology and lack of guidance is evident in the current generation with issues such as disrespect, hopelessness, loneliness, and suicide. (11:45) The core value instilled in Balakhilya during his upbringing was respect. We discuss how to make this a reality. (17:05) Broken homes make it very challenging to raise children. Mother and father play equally important roles. (23:33) Good parents with strong relationships built trust and unity with their children, leading to respect and avoiding conflict. (27:07) The Bhakti teaching promotes respect for all life forms. It includes offering respect to others and expecting none for oneself, respecting animals, plants, and the planet. (35:11) A person just needs to understand that there is a better way to live, a more happier life waiting for us. Even if I'm externally doing good, I need to look at how to improve on the inside. The Braves salvage a game against the Dodgers behind yet another outstanding start from Bryce Elder, something that has become an expectation at this point. The expectation around baseball is that Elder will eventually get El Kabonged by the regression monster, but I'm not so sure that's the case. Not only do I think what Elder is doing is sustainable, but I also think the very idea that his results are surprising says more about us as fans than it does about Bryce. I'll do my best to explain my position today.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
