Get ready for a conversation that pushes boundaries, challenges conventions, and inspires action. If you're tired of playing small, this is your call to expand. Key Takeaways The shift from goals to vision The most striking idea is Victoria Song's approach to vision over goals. Her perspective—holding an expansive vision without attaching it to time—feels liberating. It challenges the conventional obsession with deadlines and resolutions, encouraging listeners to focus on the feeling and energy of what they want to create rather than the constraints of a calendar. Bending reality is a radical conceptThe idea that reality is not fixed, but malleable is empowering and disruptive. It pushes me to rethink the “rules” I've accepted about success, timelines, and personal growth. The phrase “What if reality doesn't need fixing, but your mindset does?” sticks with us because it reframes self-improvement from striving to expanding. The courage to stop fixing yourself. Debbie and Dave's conversational style opens a space for self-reflection. Their ability to weave humour and honesty into deeper discussions makes the idea of rejecting the “New Year, New Me” narrative feel accessible and refreshing. It's not about starting over but about trusting who you already are. Practical tools for emotional expansion Victoria's concept of expansion and contraction isn't just theoretical—You can apply it immediately. Whether it's shifting from contraction into expansion or recognising when fear is guiding me toward growth, these tools feel actionable without being prescriptive.. Timelines are arbitrary. The recurring challenge to traditional thinking about time, especially around January, leave a profound impression. It's a reminder that transformation doesn't require a new year or even a specific plan but instead requires bold choices and the ability to trust the process. January

dLg #6 - Move- ment- do you? Consider this- ment (meant) to move (yes, playing with grammar here). It's about sharing our thinking to stimulate yours. The thinking is that we are meant to move- it is what and who we are as humans. Yet we live in a more passive way than ever before. Lack of movement slows us down by making us less effective, unproductive and, worst of all, we overthink and create stress. In addition, when we move less, it's terrible for our health; lack of movement affects us in so many ways- biologically, physically, psychologically and physiologically, much more than we choose to consider most of the time. Movement is not about how much- it's about starting. However small, that is. So whatever you have been putting off- give it a go- it was me(a)nt to move today. Examples could be: Move your body every hour if you have to work at a desk (put a timer on your phone for 5 mins every hour) get a stand-up desk. They work to get a treadmill desk again. They allow you to be moving (movement creates creative thought too) Move a project/ thought/ idea/ or if you are stuck We coach 1:1:1. It's a simple movement concept. What one priority must you do today (Remember priorities are and can only be in the one, it's not a priority if it's a list of them!) What one conversation can you have today to move your priority forward? What one action will you do today to create movement? Give it a go and let us know. Go Deeper Curious for more... Consider the etymology of the word movement (n.) (taken from https://www.etymonline.com/word/movement) Movement is not about how much- it's about starting; however small that movement is. late 14c., mevement, "change of position; passage from place to place," from Old French movement "movement, exercise; start, instigation" (Modern French mouvement), from Medieval Latin movimentum, from Latin movere "to move, set in motion" (from PIE root *meue- "to push away"). In the musical sense of "major division of a piece" it is attested from 1776; in the political/artistic/social sense, of "course of acts and endeavours by a body of persons toward some specific end" is from 1828. dLog# 5 Avoidance We can all avoid doing, yet we must know why we avoid things. Most things are much deeper than we think. I'm busy is a repeat avoidance response- the reality is it's more than that, pretty much always: working out why you might avoid doing it through worry, fear, or lack of skill, even being triggered by a response or external noise. Avoiding stuff can also help you really find out what you want, like, and dislike too, so why you avoid it and not just give it a generic excuse will help you every time. dLog #3 real pace comes from going slow This episode challenges us to consider the importance given to being busy. (read more here from a throwback 2021 rlc blog about time and busyness) Pace is personal. Your pace is different than ours, yet being able to work at your pace and slow it down has the ability to get things done and improve quality; it feels contradictory and against all the ego-driven self-importance, fear-inducing busyness that we are told we should be. We do not do "should" at rlc - we do, we might mess it up, yet it's about doing, testing, working, and unlearning never should.
