The 2022 RV Entrepreneur Summit is now the RV Entrepreneur Roundtable! The RV Life team and I want it to be an AWESOME experience - however with the state of the world, the compressed timeframe due to the major changes within the RVE brand this past year, and several other factors - our ticket sales were below what we needed them to be for the event to launch as planned. HOWEVER, as entrepreneurs we're no strangers to adapting and overcoming so here is what our new roundtable will look like… If the RVE Summit was a formal wedding, then the roundtable will be a dedicated business trip to the campground with other industry leaders - much more laid back and intimate. We'll still have our speakers presenting on their areas of expertise, however it will be more of a conference room presentation feel than a main stage auditorium - no stage, no lights, etc. In addition we've also added six different roundtable discussions where we'll collectively discuss topics such as: *Video creation and YouTube *Paid communities and courses *Blogs, books, and magazines *Audio & podcasting *Brand merchandise and physical products *General business and entrepreneurial best practices As far as evening activities we'll have four nights of camaraderie and celebration including a corn hole tournament, a meetup at the Ouray Hot Springs*, multiple campfires, and a fantastic live performance by The Border Hookups! We'll also have a dedicated indoor co-working space with WIFI available throughout the event where you can get away to take care of business as necessary. Now for the gritty details - each ticket will be $99. Half of that will go towards logistics and the other half will be donated to Care Camps, an industry supported 501c3 non-profit who's mission is to give joy, hope, and healing power of the outdoors to children with cancer and their families at a specialized oncology camp. (https://carecamps.org/) Boondocking spots at The Camper's Hub will still be available for $120 for the event(4 nights) - that's a flat price for every spot: motorhome, trailer, tent, car camping etc - with access to fresh water spigot, RV dump station, trash services, as well as bathrooms and showers within the main building. (https://thecampershub.com/) Join us for 4 days of intimate gatherings all focused on making connections and improving your business. Today we're talking with Gabe and Rocio Rivero from Our Mixed Journey. Gabe and Rocio are avid travelers who used to live in Puerto Rico. After Hurricane Maria ravaged the island, life was truly put in perspective for them both. They realized how quickly things can turn, and the decided that enjoying life needed to be a now thing and bit a soon thing. So, they sold everything they owned, bought a 5th wheel and a dually truck to pull it, and became full-time RVers in a little over one month's time. Since then, they've bought house as a home base, but only after full-timing for 4 years between two 5th wheels and a Class B van they still call their home on wheels. **The content creation seminar they referenced - unfortunately, we couldn't find the link again.** Connect with Gabe and Rocio: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ourmixedjourney/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKE3wGkBfDH8Jd89EoErbww TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ourmixedjourney Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OurMixedJourney Tickets for the 2022 RV Entrepreneur Summit are now on sale until August 1st 2022: https://www.therventrepreneur.com/summit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Be sure to join the RVE community on Facebook: therventrepreneur.com/facebookgroup Connect with RVE on your favorite socials: therventrepreneur.com/connect Have a question? Today we have the pleasure of talking with Taylor Cluster. Taylor is the author of a social media meets van life murder mystery novel called #Vanlife Murders. She and her Fiancé Scott have spent that last three years living the nomad life while traveling all around North America. After hitting the road Taylor found that she had a bit more time to pursue her passion for writing and decided to sit down to write a novel in one of her favorite genres - murder mystery. In this episode Taylor and I talk about: What it's like writing a fiction book based on real life events that she and Scott experienced on the road The challenges of writing, editing, and publishing your first book Some of the eerie experiences they had on the road that made it into the storyline What the feeling of being a published author is like and if it is everything thing Taylor envisioned And finally we wrap up with a brief discussion about Taylor and Scott's new endeavor - building a campground in Montrose Colorado. This is the location that we will host the 2022 RV Entrepreneur Summit! You sell the house, you buy an RV, you start a blog. But how do you take a blog and actually turn it into a profitable business? Today Alyssa shares ways to monetize a blog plus how to start treating your blog as a business instead of a hobby. Blogging is always the #1 way new RVers tell us they want to make money. You can work from anywhere, have endless stories to share, and you always see bloggers sharing amazing things online. It's a dream job! But building up a profitable blog can take years—especially if you don't know how to blog as a business. Today's episode dives into how to treat your blog as a business and the strategies we've used to build a six-figure blog. This is a recording of a live workshop Alyssa taught as part of our 2020 RV Entrepreneur Summit and the basis for our course, Blogging as a Business. It's part of our RV Entrepreneur School and gets way more tactical with step-by-step advice to take the strategies you hear about in this episode and put them into action. If you're looking to start making money from your blog, you can check out the course and get 50% off for listening to this episode with the code makemoneyRVing. In 2016, Kara and Nate set off for a year around the world, planning to vlog their adventures. They didn't expect that four years later, they would have over a million subscribers, visit 100 countries, and have one of the most popular travel vlogs on all of Youtube. This episode is pulled from our 2020 RV Entrepreneur Summit, just days after international travel began to close, so it's recorded from a hotel room in Singapore. The RV Entrepreneur Summit is our annual conference for full-time travelers on how to build a business on the road and in their mainstage presentation, Kara and Nate break down how they turned making travel videos into their dream business. In their talk, they share: How travel hacking got them starting traveling for cheap Year by year how much money they made on Youtube The struggles and wins of growing their Youtube channel Getting free experiences (and if they were worth it) How they diversified their business Their secret recipe for how to record videos now AND how they ended up totaling 7 Vespas when they tried to run group tours in Italy. One thing that I loved and I think you'll appreciate is their transparency. They've always been very open and genuine on their Youtube videos, but in this episode, they really pull back the curtain and share how they went from vlogging full-time and losing money to making over $50,000/month with a million subscribers. They do in their presentation refer to photos or screenshots a few times. If you want to see what they are talking about, you can watch the video of this presentation online here. Before we dive into the world of travel vlogging, Thanks to ID Plans for sponsoring this episode! ---- Today’s episode is sponsored by ID Plans (and it’s actually less of a sponsorship than it is an opportunity). ID Plans is a software and service company based in Tampa Florida that provides solutions for property managers. Over the past 20 years ID Plans has been able to hire a number of full-time RVers who help survey commercial properties and they are currently looking to hire 3-5 more additional RV teams. I’ve seen a lot of companies who hire RVers, and this is one that you can make a near full-time income almost immediately. You’ll receive training for the software, be able to park your motorized RV right on the job sites, and run the whole business from your RV. You can request more information at RVJobs@idplans.com. ---- Links mentioned in this episode: Kara & Nate's Youtube Channel How to Become a Travel Hacker Course Top Travel Credit Cards How to Edit a Vlog with Kara Course Faredrop --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rve/message

Travel plans for RVers are being disrupted by fear of the coronavirus and state campground closures, interstate rest area closures and growing travel restrictions. But lost in the deluge of news is the fact that the vast majority of private campgrounds in North America are still open and still welcoming RVers. Many are seeing increased bookings from RVers who want to hunker down there during the crisis To get an idea of where RVers can still camp during this crisis, our guest is Mark Koep, of the website campgroundviews.com, which works very closely with more than 1,700 privately owned campgrounds in North America. Show Notes for Episode #286 March 18, 2020 of The RV Podcast: WHAT MIKE AND JENNIFER ARE UP TO THIS WEEK What a week it has been: Many State Parks – New Mexico, North Carolina, Illinois, all 175 Florida State Parks and state and local parks in many other parts of the country - have been closed to camping. Schools, Bars, restaurants, movie theaters and businesses are shut down or have limited services pretty much nationwide. People are urged to stay home, indoors and practice social distancing. Some places have total lockdowns. Further restrictions are threatened and leaders are urging people to postpone all discretionary travel… which would obviously include RVing. There are hundreds of thousands of RVers already on the road. Where can they stay until the immediate crisis has passed? In our interview of the week, we’ll talk about that but even though the information we are giving you is current as we record this podcast, everything is changing… daily…sometimes hourly. So… our best advice to you right now is… stay where you are. Or, if you must, try a private campground and then stay there. We are in our condo on Okaloosa Island along the Florida panhandle’s Emerald Coast. Like many of you, we had travel plans. This week, we were supposed to be speaking at the RV Entrepreneur Summit in Lake Gunterson, AL. Like all RV rallies, RV shows and other events, it has been cancelled but moved to online. You can attend virtually by going to https://therventrepreneur.com/. After that, we were planning to head to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. But all those plans, as with millions of others, have been put on hold. So we are hunkering down on the beach… not a bad place to be at all. So we don’t know where you are but we want you to know we are all in this together. We’ll try and stay in touch on social media as much as possible and we will use our RV Lifestyle Channel on YouTube to do live reports and updates about the coronavirus and its effect on RVing from time to time. But we will all get through this and it’s our hope that as we follow our government’s recommendation to lay low and practice social distancing this will all pass and life will quickly get back to normal. So hang in there everyone! Here is a link from our friends on Campendium that tacks the latest closings and openings of RV-related businesses, events, campgrounds and the like This part of the podcast is brought to you by the Nimble Pet Monitor 4G, the surest way we know of to have peace of mind that the temperature for your pets back in the RV is not too high. More information and a discount for listeners ot the RV Podcast is available at https://rvlifestyle.com/nimble RV LIFESTYLE NEWS OF THE WEEK Some states close state run campgrounds because of coronavirus If you are planning to move into a new campground anytime soon, be sure to call ahead to make sure it is not closed because of coronavirus. State run campgrounds in New Mexico , Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania all have closed because of coronavirus concerns. Many tourist destinations are also closing. The changes are numerous. Hotel reservations may be down, but campground reservations are up in some places as people seek to escape the coronavirus Last week we told you how the coronavirus was the reason Japan was experiencing a s...
Today’s episode was recorded live from our RV Entrepreneur Summit that we hosted in March at Lake Guntersville State Park.
