Als mens zijn we door God gemaakt om gelukkig te zijn en om ons goed te voelen over onszelf. Eigenlijk moeten we ons goed voelen over onszelf, want anders zullen we uiteindelijk een soort van ongezond, onbeheerst gedrag ontwikkelen om bij het gevoel te komen waar we zo naar hunkeren. Denk er over na. Een drugsverslaafde begon waarschijnlijk met gebruiken omdat zijn pijn zo intens was dat hij zich genoodzaakt voelde om daar vanaf te komen, al was het maar tijdelijk. Hetzelfde geldt voor drank of voedsel om een goed gevoel op te roepen. Als we van binnenuit geen goede gevoelens krijgen, dan proberen we ze door middel van externe middelen te creëren. God heeft ons op die manier gemaakt en Hij is de Enige die ons kan verzadigen. Als we in plaats van naar God, naar iets anders op zoek gaan om ons goed te voelen over onszelf, zijn we bezig om iets echts te vervangen voor een goedkoop vervangingsmiddel. Wat je emotionele behoeften vandaag ook zijn, weet dat alleen God hieraan kan voldoen. Hij is de enige blijvende levensbron. Ga vandaag naar Hem toe — want Hij is de Enige die kan verzadigen.

Hoe kan ik lijden als liefde en vreugde mij dankzij Hem omringen? Laat ik geen illusies koesteren over mezelf. Ik ben volmaakt, omdat God me vergezelt waar ik ook ga.(42) God is mijn kracht. Visie is Zijn geschenk.Laat ik vandaag niet op mijn eigen ogen vertrouwen om te zien. Laat ik bereid zijn mijn jammerlijke illusie van wat zien is, te verruilen voor de visie die door God geschonken wordt. De visie van Christus is Zijn geschenk, en Hij heeft mij die gegeven. Op dit geschenk wil ik me vandaag beroepen, zodat deze dag mij helpt de eeuwigheid te verstaan.(43) God is mijn Bron. Los van Hem kan ik niet zien.Ik kan zien wat God wil dat ik zie. Ik kan niet iets anders zien. Buiten Zijn Wil zijn er alleen illusies. Daarvoor kies ik wanneer ik denk dat ik los van Hem kan zien. Daarvoor kies ik wanneer ik probeer te zien met de ogen van het lichaam. Toch is de visie van Christus me geschonken om die illusies te vervangen. Met déze visie wil ik zien.(44) God is het licht waarin ik zie.In duisternis kan ik niet zien. God is het enige licht. Dus als ik wil zien, moet het wel via Hem zijn. Ik heb geprobeerd te definiëren wat zien is, en ik heb me vergist. Nu wordt het me gegeven te begrijpen dat God het licht is waarin ik zie. Laat ik visie welkom heten, alsook de vreugdevolle wereld die ze me tonen zal.(45) God is de Denkgeest waarmee ik denk.Ik heb geen gedachten die ik niet deel met God. Ik heb los van Hem geen gedachten, omdat ik geen denkgeest heb los van de Zijne. Quand une personne perd son autonomie et devient dépendant, pour cause de vieillesse, de maladie ou encore de handicap, c'est souvent l'entourage qui prend le relais. Or, prendre soin d'un proche, peut avoir un retentissement sur sa propre santé : stress chronique, troubles du sommeil, épuisement... Comment faire pour prendre soin de soi lorsqu'on est aidant ? Comment vivre ce rôle le plus sereinement possible ? Qui peut aider l'aidant ?   Les aidants- ces acteurs essentiels pour la santé- accompagnent, soutiennent et soignent leurs proches, qu'il s'agisse d'un parent atteint de démence, d'un enfant en situation de handicap, d'un compagnon pris en charge pour un cancer ou d'une sœur fragilisée par un trouble psychiatrique.   Engagement fort et un risque d'épuisement  Ils ou elles s'adaptent au rythme de la personne dépendante et au-delà des seules tâches liées à l'état de santé (la préparation des traitements, le suivi des consultations), les aidants peuvent aussi avoir de multiples fonctions dans la vie quotidienne : hygiène, ménage, courses, alimentation... Un engagement choisi ou subi qui, dans la plupart des cas, évolue avec le temps et l'état du patient…  Manque de reconnaissance  Comprendre le rôle des aidants, les multiples ressorts de leurs fonctions, c'est aussi s'arrêter sur les conséquences de cet engagement. LES 53Herhaling van de lessen 11-15Vandaag zullen wij het volgende herhalen:(11) Mijn betekenisloze gedachten laten mij een betekenisloze wereld zien.Aangezien de gedachten waar ik me bewust van ben, niets betekenen, kan ook de wereld die daarvan de weergave is geen betekenis hebben. Datgene waardoor deze wereld wordt voortgebracht is waanzinnig en hetzelfde geldt voor wat zij voortbrengt. De werkelijkheid is niet waanzinnig, en ik heb zowel werkelijke als waanzinnige gedachten. Daarom kan ik een werkelijke wereld zien, als ik mijn werkelijke gedachten bij mijn zien tot leidraad neem.(12) Ik voel onvrede omdat ik een betekenisloze wereld zie.Waanzinnige gedachten verstoren je vrede. Ze brengen een wereld voort waarin nergens orde is. Een wereld die een weergave van chaotisch denken is, wordt door niets dan chaos geregeerd, en chaos kent geen wetten. In zo'n wereld kan ik niet in vrede leven. Ik ben dankbaar dat deze wereld geen werkelijkheid is en dat ik haar helemaal niet hoef te zien, tenzij ik besluit haar waarde te verlenen. En ik besluit geen waarde te verlenen aan wat totaal waanzinnig en zonder betekenis is.(13) Een betekenisloze wereld baart angst.Wat totaal waanzinnig is, baart angst omdat het volkomen onbetrouwbaar is en geen enkele basis voor vertrouwen biedt. In waanzinnigheid valt niets te vertrouwen. Het biedt geen veiligheid en geen hoop. Maar zo'n wereld is geen werkelijkheid. Ik heb haar de illusie van werkelijkheid verleend en heb geleden door mijn geloof daarin. Nu kies ik ervoor dit geloof terug te nemen en mijn vertrouwen te stellen in de werkelijkheid. Door hiervoor te kiezen zal ik ontsnappen aan alle gevolgen van de wereld van de angst, omdat ik erken dat die niet bestaat.(14) God heeft geen betekenisloze wereld geschapen.Hoe kan er een betekenisloze wereld bestaan als God die niet geschapen heeft? Hij is de Bron van alle betekenis, en alles wat werkelijk is, bestaat in Zijn Denkgeest. Het bestaat ook in mijn denkgeest, omdat Hij het met mij geschapen heeft. Waarom zou ik blijven lijden onder de gevolgen van mijn eigen waanzinnige gedachten, wanneer de volmaaktheid van de schepping mijn thuis is? Laat ik me de kracht van mijn besluit herinneren en beseffen waar ik werkelijk verblijf.(15) Mijn gedachten zijn beelden die ik heb gemaakt.Alles wat ik zie is een weerspiegeling van mijn gedachten. Het zijn mijn gedachten die mij zeggen waar ik ben en wat ik ben. Het feit dat ik een wereld zie van lijden, verlies en dood, toont mij dat ik slechts de weergave zie van mijn waanzinnige gedachten, en dat ik mijn werkelijke gedachten belet hun weldadig licht te werpen op wat ik zie. Toch is Gods weg zeker. De beelden die ik heb gemaakt, kunnen over Hem niet zegevieren, omdat het niet mijn wil is dat dit geschiedt. Wat is er in jou dat jou de juiste oplossing als zodanig doet herkennen en jou de garantie geeft dat die zal worden bereikt?Vanuit jezelf kun je niets van dit alles. Geloven dat je dit wel kunt, is je vertrouwen schenken waar vertrouwen ongegrond is, en angst, verontrusting, depressiviteit, kwaadheid en verdriet rechtvaardigen. Wie kan zijn vertrouwen stellen in zwakheid en zich veilig voelen? Maar wie kan zijn vertrouwen stellen in kracht en zich zwak voelen?God is je veiligheid in elke omstandigheid. Zijn Stem spreekt namens Hem in alle situaties en in elk aspect van alle situaties, en zegt je precies wat jou te doen staat om een beroep te doen op Zijn bescherming en Zijn kracht. Er zijn geen uitzonderingen, want God kent geen uitzonderingen. En de Stem die namens Hem spreekt, denkt zoals Hij.Vandaag zullen we proberen aan je eigen zwakheid voorbij te gaan om naar de Bron van werkelijke kracht te reiken. Er zijn vandaag vier oefenperioden van vijf minuten nodig, en langer en vaker dan dat is sterk aan te raden. Sluit je ogen en begin zoals gewoonlijk met de herhaling van het idee van deze dag.
