Directed by Mark Neveldine, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is the superhero film based on the Marvel Comics antihero Ghost Rider. Luke and Jae take a ride back to 2001 to review the sequel to the 2007 film Ghost Rider, which sees Nicolas Cage reprising his role as Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider. Still struggling with the curse of the Ghost Rider - the devil's bounty hunter, Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) meets a priest named Moreau (Idris Elba), who asks Johnny to find a boy named Danny (Fergus Riordan) and bring him back. But there's a catch - Satan (Ciarán Hinds) is looking for the boy too, and has a personal stake in the matter. But if Johnny can find Danny first and save the boy's soul, there's a chance Johnny can save his own soul as well.

Third time's the charm for returning guest (and video essayist extraordinaire) Patrick H. Willems, as we strap ourselves into the driver's seat for a pair of gonzo Cage-rage drivin' devil movies! First up is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the Neveldine/Taylor-directed sequel to the 2000s adaptation of the Marvel comic character, with Cage reprising his role as cursed cyclist Johnny Blaze. This time, he's scraping at the door in Romania, going full Terminator 2 as he keeps the Devil (a scowling Ciaran Hinds) away from his kid. Meanwhile, Neveldine and Taylor do their Crank thing to mixed results, and Idris Elba is completely wasted as a French motorcycle priest(?) obsessed with helping the good guys. Then, we shift gears to Patrick Lussier's Drive Angry 3-D, a faux-grindhouse pastiche filled with more lolrandom epic bacon humor and random CG objects popping out at the screen than you could imagine. As we have already covered Ghost Rider we thought it only fair to give its 2011 sequel a look. Once again starring Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the sequel to Ghost Rider nobody wanted! Nic Cage is back, and this time with Vengeance (in spirit) and has to save the Devil's son to remove his curse. Oscar and Carl light their faces on fire in preparation for watching Ghost Rider 2, and attempt to figure out who would watch this. 

Goodman Season staggers bloodied and bullet-riddled to its final resting place to specifically not be saved by any sort of devilry or devil's deal, because they just didn't get that the CGI was good, not bad like everyone else seemed to think so.  That's right, it's the one good thing about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011), directed by Neveldine/Taylor and starring Nic Cage, Idris Elba, Ciaran Hinds and more! After five years, Ghost Rider fans could rejoice! Finally a sequel! Surely it will be better than the 2005 movie, right? Right...? In the director's chairs this time around are Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor and sadly, other than Nicolas Cage clearly having fun, the sequel didn't do much to help ol' Ghost Rider on the big screen.
