A taký dojem budú mať pasažieri vzadu. Keď sme si prvý raz sadli do jazdeného EQS SUV, skutočne sme nepostrehli významnejší nedostatok, ktorý by nasvedčoval o strate pôvodných vlastností. To znamená 100,1%.

To on wyznacza granicę transakcyjną, wewnątrz której pilnujemy niezmienników biznesowych, gwarantując integralność naszego modelu. Though Debbie had always felt in control of her diabetes, a cross-country move and the onset of menopause left her feeling stuck, isolated, and overwhelmed- resulting in her highest A1C ever. After hearing about Risely through her daughter's best friend, Debbie took a leap and joined the program, seeking both support and a fresh start. What followed was a powerful transformation: within three months, Debbie lowered her A1C, stabilized her blood sugars, and found renewed confidence in her management. In this candid conversation, she shares how community, structure, and learning her own patterns helped her go from frustrated to empowered. In this week's episode, Lauren sits down with Alison Abate Black, a graduate of the DCB coaching program and a Type 1 diabetic of 25 years, for a deeply honest conversation about the fine line between grace and avoidance. Alison opens up about her journey from “winging it” with her diabetes to building real confidence with food—and how food freedom, while empowering at first, eventually started pulling her away from the goals that mattered most. Together, they explore what it means to give yourself too much grace, and how compassion without intention can become a quiet form of self-sabotage. As Alison prepares for pregnancy, she's learning to redefine grace—not as permission to stay stuck, but as conscious, aligned choices that support her vision for long-term health. This episode is a powerful reminder that transformation isn't a clean before-and-after—it's a living, breathing process. In my most recent Kreative Kontrol newsletter, I mentioned that I'd done a long-form interview with Will Oldham about his 2019 album, I Made a Place, but it was only used for a print piece, not for this podcast because, at the time, he was feeling ambivalent about being on pods. Sometime in the last couple of years, I asked Will if I could share this phoner, and he said yes, so here it is finally, virtually unedited. The conversation lasted about an hour and took place on Monday, September 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM ET, and you'll hear us discussing topics like, me attempting to call him using the telephone app on my MacBook, as I often did at the time, but for some reason my computer perplexingly launched a program I'd never used before called Zoom, the return of Bonnie “Prince” Billy music after a long absence, the albums of songs he made written by the likes of the Everly Brothers, Merle Haggard, Susanna, and Mekons, wariness about oversaturated streaming culture, recording a Ramones song with David Berman (who'd died on August 7, just weeks before this conversation) and thoughts on DCB, Will's love of Jake Xerxes Fussell, the Oldham family's lengthy history with and a then-recent pilgrimage to Hawaii, and much more. The wonderful new Bonnie “Prince” Billy album, The Purple Bird, is out now!To hear this entire conversation, subscribe to Kreative Kontrol on Patreon at the $6 tier or higher (a reminder that an annual subscription includes a discount compared to a monthly one).Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/kreative-kontrol. In this episode, Dr. Valentin Fuster discusses the findings of a major randomized trial examining the use of drug-coated balloons (DCB) in treating side branch stenosis during coronary bifurcation procedures. The study suggests that DCBs offer better one-year outcomes compared to non-coated balloons, showing a significant reduction in myocardial infarction rates, but highlights ongoing challenges in managing bifurcation lesions, especially considering the high cost and potential risks.

Larry Ostola speaks with David Roberts about Boosters and Barkers: Financing Canada's Involvement in the First World War. Boosters and Barkers by David Roberts explores Canada's efforts to finance its participation in World War I through public contributions, particularly war bonds. The book examines how Ottawa appealed to citizens for financial support, incorporating imperial funding, taxation, and other revenue sources. Using print, images, and music, Canada's bond campaigns generated significant public engagement, raising nearly a third of the country's $6.6 billion war costs. The story highlights the necessity of funding, propaganda strategies, public resistance, and the lasting financial impact of the war. David Roberts is a retired editor of the Dictionary of Canadian Biography/Dictionnaire biographique du Canada. In addition to writing many entries for the DCB, he is also the author of In the Shadow of Detroit: Gordon M. McGregor, Ford of Canada, and Motoropolis. He lives in Don Mills, Ontario. The use of drug-coated balloons (DCBs) for peripheral arterial disease has been controversial in the past. However, new data and updated FDA guidance have helped these devices regain popularity. In this episode of the BackTable Podcast, Dr. Ally Baheti hosts a discussion with Dr. Sahil Parikh, an interventional cardiologist in New York City, and Dr. John Park, a vascular surgeon in Omaha. --- CHECK OUT OUR SPONSOR BD Lutonix https://www.bd.com/en-us/products-and-solutions/products/product-families/lutonix-drug-coated-balloon-pta-catheters --- SYNPOSIS They review the historical controversy surrounding the potential late-mortality risks associated with Paclitaxel-coated devices, discuss more recent literature on the safety and efficacy of DCBs, and examine the implications of the FDA's updated guidance in 2023. This update was made possible through collaborative efforts across specialties and regulatory bodies to establish best practices for vascular interventions. They also delve into patient selection criteria, lesion characteristics, and practical considerations for choosing between DCBs and other revascularization options. Each provider shares their treatment algorithm for DCB use in peripheral arterial disease. Dr. Park uses DCBs as a first-line treatment for patients with complete occlusions, CLTI symptoms, or lifestyle-limiting claudication, with adjunctive stenting sometimes required afterwards. In his experience, DCBs work best in lesions shorter than 100 mm and are preferable in locations where stenting is not feasible, such as across the knee joint. Dr. Parikh similarly prefers DCBs over plain balloon angioplasty and places stents in longer lesions. He notes that Hunter's canal is a challenging area to treat with DCBs alone and may require atherectomy or intravascular lithotripsy. He recommends considering drug-eluting stents as a proactive measure to prevent more costly interventions for future restenosis. --- TIMESTAMPS 00:00 - Introduction 02:14 - History of DCB and Controversy 07:46 - Updated Research and 2023 FDA Guidelines 16:44 - Importance of Collaboration and Patient Preference 26:34 - DCB Treatment Algorithms 33:31 - Drug-Eluting Stents 35:46 - Approach for Patients with Claudication 37:22 - DCB Sizing and Dose --- RESOURCES Risk of Death Following Application of Paclitaxel‐Coated Balloons and Stents in the Femoropopliteal Artery of the Leg: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials (2018): https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/JAHA.118.011245 FDA- Treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease with Paclitaxel-Coated Balloons and Paclitaxel-Eluting Stents Potentially Associated with Increased Mortality–Letter to Health Care Providers (2018): www.fda.gov/medical-devices/letters-health-care-providers/update-treatment-peripheral-arterial-disease-paclitaxel-coated-balloons-and-paclitaxel-eluting FDA- Paclitaxel-Coated Devices to Treat Peripheral Arterial Disease Unlikely to Increase Risk of Mortality - Letter to Health Care Providers (2023): https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/letters-health-care-providers/update-paclitaxel-coated-devices-treat-peripheral-arterial-disease-unlikely-increase-risk-mortality Mortality in randomised controlled trials using paclitaxel-coated devices for femoropopliteal interventional procedures: an updated patient-level meta-analysis (2023): https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(23)02189-X/abstract
