IDLES are a British rock band formed in Bristol in 2009. The band consists of Joe Talbot (vocals), Mark Bowen (guitar), Lee Kiernan (guitar), Adam Devonshire (bass) and Jon Beavis (drums). A self-proclaimed 'angry band' from Bristol in Southwest England, IDLES take the fury of punk rock and wed it to a muscular but moody instrumental attack that matches the literate, purposeful menace of their lyrics. Lead singer and lyricist Joe Talbot's full-bodied ranting, in which he offers his vehement opinions on the state of British culture and his own personal issues, is matched by the rich, angular blast of the musicians, who can swing from melodic to brutally hard at a moment's notice. In this episode all songs selected by IDLES as guests for Australian TV show Rage, on Saturday June 8, 2019. Lineup: Crows, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Grinderman, The Stooges, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Heavy Lungs, Spiritualized, Queens of the Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, Grimes, Fuck Buttons, BAMBARA, Parquet Courts, Preoccupations, Gilla Band, Death Grips, Tyler, The Creator, Pusha T, Ginuwine, Velcro Hooks, Turbowolf, Pulled Apart By Horses, Cold War Kids, LIFE, Death From Above 1979, Foals, The Futureheads, Archie Bronson Outfit, Spring King, Fontaines D.C., Metz, The Walkmen, LICE, SOFT PLAY, A Place To Bury Strangers, Beak, Death In Vegas, Arab Strap, SUUNS, TV On The Radio, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Spectres, Mogwai, Q Lazzarus, IDLES, Fugazi, DEN, Future Islands, Iggy Pop, Talking Heads, Tears For Fears, The Cure, The National, Einstürzende Neubauten, To Rococo Rot

With assent from three of the fey royals obtained, our trio convene after a night's rest to seek the fourth. But a literal depressive spell stands in their way, and it's all up in the air: the Spring King's agreement, the state of Grant's magic, the safety of the Harrison parents, and the state of the masters of the afterlife. It always warms my heart, when they all see each other again for the first time. It's bitter, but it's worth it. Food Court: The members of Sydney’s Food Court met at a party under the Glebe tram-tracks and started jamming 60's garage blessed with some 90's fuzz bosh. The band features Cristian Campano (ex-Betty Airs) on vocals/guitar, Lewis Mckeown (Pretend Eye) on bass/vocals, Dan De Santis on guitar and Nic Puertolas (ex-Salvagers) on drums. 2013 saw the release of their debut EP “Smile At Your Shoes” and a string of singles followed. They then followed up with 2014’s “Big Weak” and a full length entitled “Good Luck” which was released in 2017. The album was the final LP to be recorded by John Castle in his legendary Shed Studios – where Castle worked his magic on records from the likes of Megan Washington, You Am I and more recently Jack River. Food Court bring energy, riffage and a killer live show drawing rave reviews from fans and critics alike, opening for acts including Courtney Barnett, Dune Rats, Northeast Party House, Beach Slang and Spring King. Recorded at The Woolly Mammoth in Brisbane on the 15h of September 2017. Recorded and mixed by Branko Cosic. Siamese: Adelaide 4-piece Siamese have caused a stir nationally, through a strong commitment to chaotic, yet commanding live shows and the strength of their songwriting. With their debut singles ‘Computer Patient’, ‘Scatterbrain’ and ‘Slaughterhouse’, the band summons the spirit of alternative rock and shoe gaze, honing a unique, yet evocative sound, reminiscent of 90’s acts HUM, Failure and Unwound. Siamese have supported the likes of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Pond and Flyying Colours, even touring nationally with fellow Adelaide band Horror My Friend. 2017 saw Siamese appear at nationally renowned festivals; Poison City Weekender Festival, A Day of Clarity, Swirl Fest and Against the Grain. Recorded at Against The Grain Fest on the 27th of August 2017. Recorded by Reuben Aptroot and mixed by Branko Cosic. Airing details: Originally via Zed Digital, 7-8pm, Sunday 21th of January 2018. Show production and engineering: Reuben Aptroot.
