OU announced team captains for the 2019 season are quarterback Jalen Hurts, center Creed Humphrey, defensive tackle Neville Gallimore and middle linebacker Kenneth Murray. All but Hurts represented OU at Big 12 Media Days prior to Hurts being named the starting quarterback at Oklahoma. For Hurts, this is the first time he's been named a team captain in college. For Murray, this is his second stint as a team captain, and he's expected to be the heart and soul of a revamped defense this season under defensive coordinator Alex Grinch.
