FINALLY got to chat with my internet treasure Jaana! We gab all about internet friendship, Peloton of course, and intentional and purposeful shopping! It's a REALLY good time
Sel nädalal uurime Ringjoone liikmetega lähemalt fenomeni, mida me kõik kasutame igapäevaselt…SOTSIAALMEEDIA! Analüüsime välispoliitika näidetel, kas sotsiaalmeedia on kaasaegne propagandavahend?
Miks on korporatsioonid võtnud rohelise kuvandi enda kinnisideeks? Kas praeguses süsteemis on keskkonna säästmine võimalik? Saates parandavad maailma Annmari ja Talis. Vestlust juhib Tõnn ning saate monteeris Jaana.
Lõuna-Koreas on viimastel aastakümnetel toimunud plahvatuslik majanduse areng. Piisab vaid Korea poolsaare öistest satelliidipiltidest, et saada aru, kummas on parem elujärg. Peale hüppelise majandusarengu tänu kõrgtehnoloogiliste toodete ekspordile on Lõuna-Korea võtnud suuna pehme jõu arendamisele popkultuuri kaudu: kõik meist on kuulnud K-popist ning Korea telesarjadest. Küll aga pole see edulugu tulnud sugugi probleemideta. Fassaadi taha vaadates ilmnevad tõsised sotsiaalmajanduslikud probleemkohad, millest aru saamiseks tuleb mõista ka riigi kultuurilist tausta ja olude järsu muutumise tagajärgi. Milline on K-popi staaride elu kulisside taga ja kuidas on see seotud Lõuna-Korea kultuurilise ja majandusliku taustaga? Miks keelduvad paljud Lõuna-Korea naised meestega suhetes olemisest ja laste saamisest? Miks moodustab Samsung Group rohkem kui viiendiku riigi SKTst? Eelmise aasta Democracy Indexi kohaselt on Lõuna-Korea täielik demokraatia, kuid millised probleemid riigis siiski võimude lahususe ja õigusriigi aspektist esinevad? Saates võtavad sõna Korea-temaatika eksperdid Jaana ja Aleksander. Vestlust juhib Harald ning saate lõikas kokku Tõnn.
When my online friend Jaana, the awesome woman behind @thismomsgonnasnap, told me that she didn't have her first drink until she was 32 years old, I had to know more! Today, Jaana shares with us how her Mormon upbringing kept her sober well into adulthood, how easy it was for her drinking to become habitual when she finally ‘broke the seal' and allowed alcohol into her life, and why she chose to step away from the Mormon faith. Plus! She'll give her viewpoint on the representation of mormons on reality TV shows like Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives! Be sure to check out Jaana on Instagram @thismomsgonnasnap where she shares an refreshingly unvarnished view on mom life. Join us in the The Sober Mom Life Cafe! Kuten kansanedustaja Martin Paasi toistelee, julkisen sektorin tulee tuottaa enemmän, parempaa vähemmällä jotta hyvinvointivaltio on turvattu. Hoitajatyö on muuttunut toivotuksi työpaikaksi osittain työmahdollisuuksien joustojen vuoksi. Sukupuolten välinen palkkaero on tosiasia. Missä jamassa taloudellinen tasa-arvo on Suomessa? Näihin suuriin kysymyksiin vastaa UN Womenin toiminnanjohtaja Jaana Hirsikangas. Studiossa Jaanan kanssa Susan Orfinskij.

Many people think of summer as the best time to read. On the beach, on the airplane to a vacation, in between semesters… Sounds like a perfect time to do a literature review. But there are many ways to do a literature review, and in all honesty, we think most people choose the wrong type of review – the “systematic” literature review where they select papers about a phenomenon, do a supposedly structured but not exhaustive search across IS journals, and then criticize the knowledge others have created. We discuss a few alternatives that we think hold more promise: qualitative and quantitative meta analyses, or narrative and integrative reviews. We also point to a few papers that have helped us organize the conversations we read about in the literature – which really, is what literature reviewing is all about. In this week's episode, we're kicking off season 4 of As You Go with a conversation about overcoming strongholds, adversity, and things keeping you away from a relationship with the Lord. Our guest, Jaana Woodbury, is a wife and girl mom four times over. She is a Tennessee native, who relocated to California, and is now back after being called by the Lord to move. Her background is in behavioral health, but serves now at Rolling Hills as an Intern for our Women's Ministry.Jaana found herself in a broken home as a child, causing her to put her importance in the ways of the world. She struggled with addiction, seeking false validation from people around her, and seeking truth where it did not exist. She had built a false foundation, and found her way back to The Lord she had heard about as a kid. Now, 11 years sober, Jaana is speaking truth into the lives of her four girls and raising them to be women of God. She is following the Lord's new calling for her life, Women's Ministry here at Rolling Hills. Jaana has a heart of service. Whether it's speaking directly into the life of someone else or pushing a shopping cart of water bottles... Jaana is ready to help in any way she can!Listen now to our conversation with Jaana Woodbury now!As You Go Podcast is a part of the Rolling Hills Podcast Network, available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts. You can follow along with the life of the Women's Ministry here at Rolling Hills @rhccwomen. GUEST OVERVIEW: Jaana Pitkaren worked in the nursing industry for 32 years. The last 18 years as a registered nurse with a wide variety of experience in general medicine and chronic disease. She became very alarmed when AHPRA threatened in March 2021 to not veer from government narrative and the large number of vaccine injuries she was seeing from April onwards. She was stood down in September 2021, and resigned in November 2021 and has since surrendered her registration with AHPRA.
This week, I'm talking with Jaana Rehnström, founder and leader of The Kota Alliance. At its core, Kota is about gender equity and women's empowerment. They work both locally and globally to create synergies between organizations that serve and support women and girls. Jaana and I talk about how Kota was founded to elevate and expand capacity and impact -- there are so many organizations doing incredible work, and too often they simply don't know about one another and don't have the capacity to figure out how to work together in service of the women and girls in their communities. That's where Kota comes in - they aim to serve as the interstitial tissue between these organizations - creating communities and efficiencies that build capacity and expand impact.

This week, Alex Meschi and Jaana Woodbury are joined by speaker, entrepreneur, app developer, author, and CEO of Goldratt Research Labs, Dr. Alan Barnard. From an early age, Dr. Barnard was always fascinated by human decision making. He would wonder what would influence individuals to make the decisions they did and why many good people made bad decisions. He has since dedicated his work to the study of behavioral psychology and decision science to hopefully find an answer to these questions. He discusses with Alex and Jaana the idea of positive/negative responses in accordance with life events and explains why reacting rather than responding to a situation may not render the best results. Additionally, he explains how his research in decision making can also be applied to addiction treatment. He asserts that addicts are good people by nature in that they have identified a problem within themselves or something they are suffering from, but their decision making has simply resulted in them choosing a negative coping mechanism to deal with the root complication. Finally, Dr. Barnard talks about how overcomplicating addiction treatment by adding more and more steps in some instances can ultimately increase failure rates and produce negative results. This week, Hilary and Jaana conclude their conversation with Ocean Recovery CEO, Cade Saurage. The previous week we left off with Cade describing the moment he finally surrendered, and we pick back up this week as he describes how things went from there. Both Cade and his then-wife were battling addiction, going through treatment at the same time, and raising kids amid their struggles. With over 15 years of sobriety under his belt now, he discusses the differences between short-term and long-term sobriety and how much his routine has changed over the years. For Cade, having a relationship with God and mentoring others who are in the same position he once was in are the key components to maintaining his recovery today. He also talks about how important self-care and particularly therapy have been in continuing his path of sobriety. Finally, honesty has been a huge piece in transforming himself, so Cade suggests to anybody keeping something inside to reach out to that particular someone and get whatever it is off their chest. oceanrecovery.com For more information on the Red Songbird Foundation, please visit: redsongbird.org If you are interested in donating to the Red Songbird Foundation, please visit: redsongbird.org/donate Follow us on Instagram at: @redsongbirdfoundation New episode every Thursday! In our first two-part episode, we dive into the troubling existence of a group of chemicals referred to as PFAS, with the nickname "Forever Chemicals," because they stubbornly hang around in water, air, fish, soil, people, and animals. PFAS -- which stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals -- are man-made creations that have been used in industry and consumer products worldwide since the 1950s. There are more than 4,000 of them, so it's a big family. They can be found in non-stick cookware, water-repellent clothing, stain-resistant fabrics and carpets, cosmetics, firefighting foams, and products that resist grease, water, and oil. Studies have shown that exposure to some PFAS in the environment may be harmful to humans and animals.PFAS contamination has sparked some major litigation, with some cases involving hundreds or thousands of individuals that have settled for hundreds of millions of dollars. The PFAS issue is significant enough that -- despite so many other pressing issues -- the White House made it a top priority, kicking eight federal departments into gear to tackle the situation. It's a hot topic that's going to be with us for many years. In Part 1 of the episode, we discussed the PFAS from the scientific and environmental engineering perspective. And to do that I was fortunate to have Jim Fenstermacher and Dr. Jaana Pietari from the global engineering firm Ramboll. Jim and Jaana have deep experience in environmental remediation involving a variety of contaminants, including PFAS. In Part 2, I am joined by Robert Chesler of Anderson Kill. Bob is a long-time expert on insurance coverage for long-tail and other claims. He's considered a guru in the field, and has represented policyholders in disputes over coverage with insurers for as long as I've known him. It's a serious subject and these are seriously qualified folks. I did my part to make a mockery of scientific terms as I struggled to say the name of this family of chemicals. Fortunately for you my guests were much more linguistically nimble and it is their voices you will hear more of.
