we all miss naz thats the gorgeous iranian actress nazanin boniadi - who excused herself from this second season of the lord of the rings : the rings of power. however, tyroe who plays `theo` her son and ismael who plays `arondir` her lover miss her like hell, of that there is no doubt. it is no surprise then that this conversation spends quality time talking about naz and her character `bronwyn`. tyroe has grown in height and maturity since i met him at the season one premiere in mumbai. the aussie lad and me had spoken a fair bit about cricket i remember but this time, in singapore at the season 2 red carpet and premiere it was all about him tackling a lot of darkness and heavy emotions as an actor at such a young age! i was really looking forward to my 2nd meeting with the very accomplished charles edwards after my 1st tryst with him in mumbai when `the lord of the rings : the rings of power` season 1 released and the asia junket was held in mumbai city. this time it was destination singapore where amazon prime video india flew a few of us senior journalists down for the red carpet and premiere for season 2. charles wecolmed me warmly and along with the very talented charlie vickers (who plays the darklord sauron) proceeded to give me a splendid interview covering a lot of ground. in particular all that is happening in the world of the elvin smith celebrimbor whom he portrays. edwards is a legend in british theatre and has won 2 SAG awards for his role in `the crown`. he can also be seen on tv and film in `downton abbey` , `the duke`, `the witches` and others. watch out for vickers - he has the easy charm of a future hollywood blockbuster star and 2 seasons of rings of power have already sent him in the direction of worldwide stardom. enjoy this podcast and do tell me what you feel post hearing it in the comments below! “The HrishiKay Sessions” are produced & presented by Hrishikesh Kannan popularly known as Hrishi K Thanks for listening. this is an annual ritual for us. tanya bami series head netflix india and me to sit down at the beginning of a calendar year after netflix india has announced its slate for whats coming up and do a deep dive. shes most kicked about the comedy genre and in all honesty netflix doesnt get enough kudos for its work in the genre. `mamla legal hai` was a runaway hit and tanya announces a brand new season & the fact that 192 countries cant get enough of `the great indian kapil show` is there for all of us to see. from bollywood to cricket theyve got all the bumper guests and the return of sunil grover. im excited by the prospect of sanjay leela bhansali as well as yashraj films and excel entertainment bringing their vision to netflix. `dabba cartel` & `ic 814 the kandahar hijack` seem like shows i will binge into. tanyas very clear that old favourites like `kota factory`, `mismatched` and `fabulous lives` had to come back with fresh seasons - such was the clamour amongst subscribers / members. ive know tanya professionally since her wizcraft days and personally too because both her kids and both my kids were in the same school - our younger ones in the same class, total besties. and ive known her to always be gracious with her time and taking feedback from me and a host of other journalists. she has her antennae up and her ears to the ground which is what makes her and that other powerhouse of a lady at Netflix India, Monika Shergill so special. the service / platform is lucky to have them and i continue to enjoy every minute spent picking their brain or chatting with them. happy listening! “The HrishiKay Sessions” are produced & presented by Hrishikesh Kannan popularly known as Hrishi K Thanks for listening. im constantly on the quest for knowledge & when writer director ananya banerjee tells me that there exists a 40 minute horror film called ``moni hara`` which is based on a story by gurudev rabindranath tagore directed by satyajit ray i go woah! this director duo are articulate, intelligent & driven. with gauravv k chawla & ananya banerjee no topic of discussion is passe or taboo & i love that. their horror series ``adhura`` is streaming on amazon prime video. we speak of colonial structures & british era residential /. boarding schools, jumpscares, bgm, sound design, cinematography & child actor shrenik aroras eyes. im also joined in this chat by ishwak singh of pataal lok & rocket boys fame whos subtlety in a spookfest works like a charm. happy listening.

If you're a fan of the podcast Song Exploder, and a whole lot of people are, you know that it's all about creativity. A musician walks the audience through the components of their song and the inspirations and decisions that went into forming those parts as they came together as a whole. Meanwhile, Hrishikesh Hirway, creator of the show, drops in separated tracks so you can follow the story. It's somewhat surprising then that Hrishi, a musician himself, was unable to write a song for years, even during the run of his show that so many other people find inspirational. Any idea he would get would be shot down by the negative voices in his brain, which told him that anything he made was bound to suck, that he had no business even attempting music. Finally, an invitation came from musician Jenny Owen Youngs to collaborate on a song for her podcast about Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
