Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they take the time-traveling hears back 20 years to December 2004 and a WWE Championship match featuring The Undertaker against JBL, Booker T, and in their only PPV battle, the legendary Eddie Guerrero. It might get overlooked as it took place during WWE's usual "dead month" of December, but that's exactly why we want to highlight this absolute banger of a Ruthless Aggression era classic. If you've never seen it or if you want to revisit, we'll give you the time stamp to watch it along with us, but as usual it'll be just as entertaining if you just want to listen. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they take the time-traveling hearse back to the summer of 1999 and revisit a banger of a brawl between The Unholy Alliance of Undertaker and Big Show and the Unlikely Alliance of X-Pac & Kane. Of course we'll give you the timestamp to watch along with us but as always it'll be just as fun if you only listen. Along the way we'll discuss some of the greatest fans we've ever seen and all of their head-bobbing and crotch-chopping action, an incredible array of signs in the audience, who wins the worst-dressed Superstar of the match award, sweaty wet shirts, the many active AEW performers in the match including a one-shoed Billy Gunn, the surprising star power of Mabel, Kane's awesome blink and you miss it performance, Chyna's big moment, the big shows WCW and ECW put on around this time, and how well the storytelling between Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon holds up to this day. Plus we look back at a year of Undertaker Sightings in 2023 including his award-winning NXT appearance and his presentation of the Big 12 Championship! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they "celebrate" the 5 year anniversary of Crown Jewel 2018 and the truly cursed match between The Brothers Of Destruction and DX. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they take their time-traveling hearse back to the days before Mark Calaway became The Phenom we know and love and worked the territories back in the late 80s. It's a sequel to our "Main Event Monstors" episode from a couple of years ago as we've unearthed even more fascinating (and often hilarious) footage from Memphis, Texas, and even Japan. We'll take a look at Taker's first ever televised matches as Texas Red against the legendary Bruiser Brody and The Spoiler. Then we'll head back to Jerry Lawler's CWA in Tennessee to watch the Master Of Pain interact with old and new favorites like Ronnie P. Gossett, The Soultaker, Freezer Thompson, Brian Lee, Ken Raper, Nate The Rat, Jeff Jarrett, Jungle Jim, Action Jackson, and more. We're going back 25 years to cover a couple of glaring omissions from our back catalog on an all new Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on our encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as we take a look back at a pair of classic Attitude Era matches that didn't quite warrant their own episode during our original run but definitely deserve to be revisited. Up first is The Undertaker vs Kane from the famous VHS release of Mayhem In Manchester. Though not technically a PPV (and never released on the WWE Network or Peacock) it's a match that was widely seen and fondly remembered - perhaps mostly for Taker's street clothes he wrestles in! We'll discuss what went wrong with his gear plus run down this fun U.K. card. Then we'll do a Watch-Along for the main event of Over The Edge 1998 featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Dude Love with The Undertaker as The Enforcer on the outside. Taker obviously doesn't wrestle in this one, but it is the only match in history where The he played a referee-type role and it's such a classic we thought it'd be fun to cover for its 25th anniversary this month. This is maybe the best pure "Sports Entertainment" match you will ever see with these three plus Vince McMahon, Gerald Brisco, Pat Patterson, Jim Ross, and The King all playing their roles to a tee. We'll reminisce about watching this one when we were 12 years old, how it continues to get better with age, the wild bumps both guys were taking, the rabid crowd, The Undertaker's brutal chokeslams to the stooges, and so much more. Plus we've got our monthly Undertaker Sightings highlighting another A&E Rivals episode, podcast comments, Hall Of Fame thoughts, and Alex's interaction with an iconic Hall Of Famer! We're struttin' and cuttin' on a special bonus episode of Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their exploration digging up The Dead Man as they bring on Manscaped Contest Winner Randy Turco to the show for a special episode dedicated to The Dead Man's haircut history throughout the years. Yes, really - we're watching along with two classic Taker matches featuring some of his most dramatic haircuts ever! First up is a quickie vs Bradshaw from Smackdown 12/6/01 where Big Evil showed up with a brand new look after turning heel a few days before. And for the main event we take a look at The Undertaker vs Triple H inside Hell In A Cell at WrestleMania 28 where The Phenom debuted his faux hawk! Along the way we'll chronicle all of Taker's coiffures through the years (including his horrendous wigs), mourn the loss of Shawn Michaels' short shorts, analyze Dean Malenko's nipples, wonder if Ron Simmons ever rode a motorcycle, remember Cow and Chicken's parents, try to figure out if Taker ever got to wrestle Brutus Beefcake, and discuss some our favorite (and most embarrassing) haircut stories of our own. OHHHH YESSSSSSSS! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they pay tribute to the one and only William Moody - better known to us all as Paul Bearer - on the 10 year anniversary of his passing. After our monthly Undertaker Sightings segment (covering his Super Bowl commercial and more), we dive deep into the full career of the Father Of Destruction. We talk about William Moody's background as a real-life mortician to his early days in the wrestling business as Percy Pringle III and his murderer's row of clients and then of course to the call that changed his life to join up with The Undertaker in 1991. We discuss Taker and Bearer's instant and unbreakable connection, how the pair effortlessly evolved from heels to babyfaces, Bearer's command of a character that could have gone off the rails, the heel turn at SummerSlam 1996 that changed everything, Bearer selling the Kane storyline and turning it into a masterpiece, and so much more. We'll also cover his brief stint in TNA, the good (WrestleMania XX) and the bad (getting kidnapped by Edge) of his returns to WWE throughout the 2000s (including some untelevised ones), his run with his final protege LA Knight on the independent scene, and the ways WWE and The Undertaker have honored him since his untimely passing. There never was and never will be another quite like Paul Bearer, and we hope you enjoy our tribute to one of our favorite pro wrestling characters of all time. Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy! We're taking you back to school on this month's Talking Taker as we give you a crash course in The Undertaker's signature match! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they analyze over 40 years of one of the most unique match styles in professional wrestling history - The Casket Match. Or wait, is it a Coffin Match? We'll get to the bottom of that, along with covering the evolution of this match from the rough around the edges origins in 1980 Houston Wrestling featuring The American Dream, to its WWF debut as part of The Undertaker's rivalry with The Ultimate Warrior, to the many Casket Matches most people never saw on house show tours across the country. Along the way we'll discuss the promos and vignettes with Paul Bearer in the wood shop that really elevated these matches, the wrestlers who sold the fear of the casket the best, the live event Casket Match opponents you probably never knew about that never made it to TV, Taker's overall stats and records, Casket Matches outside of the WWE, and our dream Casket Match opponents we'd love to see in 2023. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as we celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the greatest Casket Match of all time - The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels from Royal Rumble 1998. It's the epic finale of the late 90s era of their rivalry and a perfect distillation of the early Attitude Era where multiple storylines converge including setting the seeds for Taker's feud with his brother Kane. These 2 have never had a bad match (well, until 2018) so we encourage you to watch along with us on Peacock. But as always it's just as entertaining if you can't. Along the way we'll discuss some very late 90s specific memories of watching this PPV, Shawn's packet of powder hidden in his pants, the parallels with the 1994 Rumble Casket Match, some highly unsafe special effects, hilarious fans in the crowd, and so much more. In July of 2002, three of the greatest WWE superstars of all-time did battle for the WWE Championship and history was made. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as we take the time-traveling hearse back to Vengeance 2002 to revisit one of our favorite matches that just doesn't get enough love on its 20th anniversary - The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Rock for the Undisputed Championship! We're doing it Watch-Along style this time so we'll give you the timestamp to cue it up on the Peacock, but as always it'll still be plenty entertaining if you're just listening. We'll discuss why this is a Top 20 all-time Undertaker match for us, why it seems to get overlooked by fans due the craziness going in in the WWE at the time, and try to remember what exactly the storyline here was. Along the way we'll also cover the insane series of stolen finishers during the match, the seemingly effortless chemistry between these 3, the confusing crew member seemingly just hanging out at ringside, the infamous carabiner on Taker's belt loop, whether this is the best triple threat match in WWE history, and of course the always hilarious looks of the fans of the crowd. Plus we'll get an audio recap from our time-traveling reporter Randy Turco of his memories of being at this show live! All that plus our monthly "Undertaker Sightings" and more. Scott Hall. Razor Ramon. The Bad Guy. Whatever you want to call him, he was one of our all-time favorite wrestlers. And with his untimely and sudden passing earlier this week, we wanted to pay tribute to a legendary performer that we never covered in the original run of Talking Taker since he surprisingly never had a PPV match with Taker. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration of The Undertaker's career as they do a Watch-Along commentary for two rare matches featuring Scott Hall and Mark Calaway. The first is from New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1990 with Hall teaming up with a young Taker, known at this time as Punisher Dice Morgan! They take on Masa Saito and Shinya Hashimoto for the tag team titles in a match unlike any we've covered on this show before. Then they fast forward a couple of years to Rampage 92, a classic Coliseum Video you can find on Peacock, and one of the only singles matches in history between Razor Ramon and The Phenom! Plus we share our favorite memories of a man who revolutionized the wrestling business including the times we met him and saw him live and how his mannerisms and catchphrases transcended the wrestling business. Download, enjoy, Taker Easy, and Rest In Peace Scott Hall! You can find the New Japan match we're covering by clicking here! We're celebrating the 25th anniversary of one of our favorite underrated Undertaker matches as we revisit the Final Four on this month's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey digging up The Dead Man as they cover the topic you the listeners voted for them to discuss this month and look back at a Top 20 Taker match of all time watch-along style. And who better to join us than friend of the show Watchalong Tommy to give his unique analysis on this legendary match! The Undertaker faces off against Vader, Stone Cold, and Bret Hart in the first major 4-Way match in WWE history and it's brutal and bloody brawl that influenced so many classic Attitude Era matches that came after it. The three of us discuss the impact of this match on the business and on all 4 men's careers as well as just how much freaking fun this match is! Watchalong Tommy (the Forrest Gump of wrestling fans) wasn't there for this show, but the does share some great stories of some other events he was at around this time, plus his memories of attending another lost Royal Rumble match from 1994. We also talk about Tommy's case of mistaken identity with a Travis sound-alike in Las Vegas, The Undertaker's recent appearances including his role in the new WWE 2K game, and our fantasy WrestleMania opponents for The Dead Man just in case he were to step in the ring this year. We've got a different kind of New Year's Countdown on this month's Talking Taker as we look at the Royal Rumble match you thought you'd never see! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they unearth a lost Royal Rumble from Osaka, Japan that turns out to be the first Rumble ever won by The Undertaker! We're doing it watch-along style as we always do for Royal Rumbles, but this one isn't available on Peacock (see below or our social media channels for the link). In fact this match is so rare there's only footage available from a fan's home camera footage! And though it's an unofficial Royal Rumble and it only has 18 superstars in it, it's an important historical footnote in The Dead Man's career and we're excited to bring it to you. We'll discuss the odd timeline of this match as it occurs during Taker's supposed hibernation in the spring of 1994, Undertaker's squash of the future Hakushi earlier in the night, an impressive performance from Bob Backlund, the surprising effort these superstars put into a house show match, the rare interaction between Randy Savage and Taker, and so much more. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as fellow Creature Of The Night Stephen Zieman cross over to Talking Taker for the first time. Stephen started the Collecting Deadman podcast earlier this year to chronicle the vast and never-ending world of Undertaker figures, merchandise, and collectibles - and we do our best to talk about it all on this special crossover episode! Of course, the main event for this month's episode is a special watch-along of - what else? - The Undertaker vs The Undertaker from SummerSlam 1994! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as we cover the most unexpected journey our time-traveling hearse has ever taken: "Escape The Undertaker" - an interactive Netflix special starring The Phenom and The New Day! We never could have predicted when we started this podcast something as wild as this, and we needed to call in some backup to be able to cover all the different paths and scenarios brought about by this "Create Your Own Adventure" experience. Undertaker Experts and returning guests Randy Turco and Saint Ridley Santos join us as we talk about every possible path through Taker's haunted mansion as he tries to collect the souls of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods before they can collect his urn. We're looking back at our favorite Undertaker match of all tiz-iiiime on this month's special edition of Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey digging up The Dead Man as they take a look back at the match they unanimously chose as The Undertaker's greatest ever for the first time in nearly 150 episodes - In Your House: Badd Blood 1997 vs Shawn Michaels in the first ever Hell In A Cell match. We're doing it Watch-Along style so we'll give you the timestamp on the Peacock app for you to join us as we provide a running commentary for a match with a huge historic impact on the career of Taker, HBK, and of course, Kane! We'll explain exactly why this match holds such a special place in our hearts and why we (still) rank it above Taker and Shawn's WrestleMania classics. October 1997 was a wild time in the WWF and we'll put this match into the context not just of that timeline but of the history and future of pro wrestling as some things would truly never be the same after this match. The psychology in this match and in the entire Taker and Shawn storyline is unprecedented and we'll dissect all the intricate pieces at play. Of course, we'll still have some laughs along the way at things like Sgt. Slaughter's flashlight, "Jay Lethal" the camera man, Shawn's droopy drawers, and other absurdities we find throughout the match. Plus, we'll give our first reactions to the "Escape The Undertaker" Netflix trailer and tell you our plans for covering this incredible new addition to The Phenom's legacy!
