The Big Five Project returns to cover one of the worst PPVs of all time, King of the Ring 1995. Seriously, this is an event that kind of makes WrestleMania IX look good by comparison. Vince McMahon had all the elements in place to make this an event to remember. Well, it was an event to remember for all the wrong reasons. The bracket for the King of the Ring tournament was pretty solid. But bad matches and even worse booking decisions led us to the crowning of....King Mabel? Oh, and if that was not bad enough, Vince threw Bret "Hitman" Hart, the best wrestler in the company, into a meaningless Kiss My Foot match with Jerry "The King" Lawler. The fact that match was one of the better matches on the card tells you so much of what you need to know, and we have not event talked about the Main Event pitting the WWF Champion Diesel, and his tag team partner, Bam Bam Bigelow, against Sycho Sid and Tatanka in a match that redefined the word meaningless. If you are asking why....well you are not the only ones as we asked ourselves the same question over and over during this PPV that really epitomizes just how rough things were in WWF during the first half of 1995. Rob returns to the show and joins Dave, DJ, and PC Tunney to cover it all for you here, so you don't have to watch it yourself. You can thank us later. Or thank us now by tuning in to another epic installment of The Big Five Project!About the Chairshot Radio NetworkLaunched in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in sports, entertainment, and sports entertainment. WrestleMania IX: Becoming a Spectacle gives us exclusive backstage footage of Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Undertaker, and a ton of other wrestlers at the first-ever Vegas Mania. It also, unfortunately, features a ton of Hulk Hogan's world-famous "exaggerations" about the day he magically regained the WWF title. Join us as we dissect this doc on the first time Vince (and Terry) screwed Bret.

Mark Radulich and Robert Winfree take a break from complaining about movies to complain even more about Wrestlemania 41!WrestleMania 41, also promoted as WrestleMania Vegas, was a 2025 professional wrestling event produced by WWE. It was the 41st annual WrestleMania and took place as a two-night event on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. This was the second WrestleMania to take place in the Las Vegas area, after WrestleMania IX in 1993, which was held at Caesars Palace. The event aired via pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming and featured wrestlers from the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. This was the first WrestleMania to livestream on Netflix in most international markets as the platform began a 10-year rights deal with WWE in January 2025. The Big Four Project officially becomes the Big Five Project here on Episode 292. It's the Attitude Of Aggression and it is time to return for another installment in the chronological analysis, review, and discussion about WWE's now Big Five PPVs/ Premium Live Events. On this Episode, the guys cover King of the Ring '93. In the wake of the disaster that was WrestleMania IX, WWE rebounded in a huge way with the first ever PPV version of the King of the Ring Tournament. After being screwed out of his title in Las Vegas, Bret "Hitman" Hart would complete a legendary hat-trick en route to becoming the first, and only, back-to-back KOTR winner. The guys cover all that, including a watch along of the epic Semi-Final match between Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect. KOTR '93 was also significant as it marked the official end of Hulkamania as Yokozuna emphatically reclaimed the WWF Championship from Hulk Hogan. All that plus Shawn Michaels retaining the IC title against Crush. King of the Ring '93 was clearly the best PPV of 1993 for WWE (by a wide margin) and the guys have all the details for you here on another epic edition of the Big Five Project!About the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction and more! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Wrestling Off the Top with Rakishi Fatu!
The Attitude Of Aggression returns for another installment of The Big Four Project, a chronological analysis, review, and discussion about WWE's Big Four PPVs/ Premium Live Events. On this Episode, the guys face their ultimate challenge.... making WrestleMania IX interesting. Regarded by many as the worst WrestleMania of all-time, the guys do their utmost best to break the event down and to try and make sense as to how and why it was booked as badly as it was. WWE got the location right for WrestleMania IX, but everything else was very wrong. Filled with frustrating non-finishes, matches being made up on the fly, double Doinks, chloroform filled rags, and a bizarre finish done for the sole purpose of getting Hulk Hogan (of all people) over, WrestleMania IX was very bad indeed. The guys do find a few gems here and there though. Is it enough to salvage this event from the lowest level of WrestleMania hell? Join us here for to find out plus much more on another epic installment of The Big Four Project!About the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction and more! We then talk about the post-Mania plans and all sorts of other news and views from the week.We then go international, where the Champion Carnival is firing up in AJPW, NJPW and WAR run some shows together, the UWFi has a big show, Universal Lucha Libre starts fading away in the early days of Michinoku Pro, AJW runs Dream Slam II, AAA is doing big things, there's drama backstage in CMLL, and tons more. Then we come back to the U.S. for the Indie scene featuring MACCABIAHMANIA, the very first episode of ECW TV, tension in the Heavenly Bodies camp in SMW, Jerry Lawler reforming Lawler's Army in the USWA, there's a big tw0-art story on the Von Erichs in the New York Daily News, and a whole lot more.WCW closes out the show, as we have news on Tully Blanchard seemingly coming on, Cactus Jack and Vader taking their feud to another level, Jesse Ventura meeting the Cole Twins, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson teasing future things, and so much more.Lots of good stuff on this one, so LISTEN NOW!!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WWF2:04:57 Japan: AJPW, NJPW, WAR, UWFi, Michinoku Pro, Universal, W*ING, & AJW2:35:23 Classic Commercial Break2:40:42 Halftime3:13:52 Latin America: AAA, CMLL, UWA, AWF, & WWC3:36:49 Other USA: MaccabiahMania, WWA (NJ), ECW, SMW, USACW (Austin Idol), NWCA convention, USWA, GWF, Metroplex indies, Von Erichs, & CWUSA5:11;35 WCW6:14:02 Patreon Preview: Owen Hart has zero fucks to give in his comments about Mike TysonTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. The very first ever WrestleMania was held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on March 31st, 1985. The brainchild of WWF owner Vince McMahon, WrestleMania played host to roughly 19,000 people at the Garden and was seen across the United States by over 1 million people via closed-circuit television. At the time, it was the largest pay-per-view wrestling event ever. In the years following, Wrestlemania would become the most successful and longest-running pro wrestling event in history, even setting several attendance records with crowds of over 100,000 people cramming stadiums to watch the show. But that doesn't mean it was all good...which brings us to this episode of the podcast. In 1993, 9 years after that first WrestleMania, the WWF (now WWE) decided to try their luck at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas with what was planned to be the most opulent WrestleMania ever. There were elephants, camels, Roman Gladiators, chariots, and even an appearance by Cleopatra & Julius Caesar. Despite all of that, WrestleMania IX is often regarded as "the worst WrestleMania of all time" and my guest is here to help break down all the reasons why. Mark Hoke is the host of The Mark Hoke Show, the number 1 rated Pro Wrestling radio show in Las Vegas. As WrestleMania IX gets set to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Mark and I went in-depth discussing the event; everything from the choice of venue to Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's memorable entrance to the politics behind the controversial ending. You can listen to The Mark Hoke Show live Sunday mornings at 8am PT on Las Vegas's KDWN 101.5 FM and online via the Audacy app, or listen when you want wherever you get your podcasts. Also, be sure to follow Mark on Facebook & Twitter for all the latest from the world of pro wrestling. __________________________________________________________________________ Become a Jeff Does Vegas Insider today for only $5 USD/month & enjoy all kinds of cool perks like early access to new episodes, commercial-free versions of EVERY episode, invites to exclusive live streams & videos, insider-only virtual hangouts and even real-life in-person hangouts IN Las Vegas! Our 30 Year Time Machine series continues on with WWF WrestleMania IX, the first outdoor WrestleMania which took place in the Caesar's Palace parking lot (we aren't joking) in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 4, 1993. On paper, this should have been a classic, but in practice it would wind up becoming, arguably, the WORST WrestleMania ever.
