ibi #season2 Season 2— We're back at it with the crew: Mako, Boogie, and Tashima. This episode is called “Knocking Off the Rust” for a reason—because that's exactly what's happening. We ran into a bunch of technical difficulties with the original recording, but that's nothing new. Even though it's the first episode of Season 2, it's actually Episode 32 overall. We talk about a little bit of everything, from catching up with the whole crew and what's been going on in their lives, to Mako explaining his latest departure. Turns out, what seemed like a snowball effect led to something real—true love. We also dive into the vision behind the Pink Panther trailer and how that whole idea came to be. Boogie gets personal too—defending his religious beliefs and sending a direct message to all the Ahks who've been calling and threatening him about his thobe. Plus, he shares a wild out-of-body experience during our new Conspiracy Theory segment. We wrap things up talking about how student loans hit everyone's credit scores this past February. We hope you enjoy this episode and understand—this is just the beginning of a lonnnnng journey Please Like the video, comment, subscribe & turn on your post notifications for more contentFollow us on all social media platforms Instgram, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok:

Today we are focusing on choosing your words intentionally when describing your life. Language is a powerful tool that not only keeps humanity connected but creates the world we see around us. Simply put, words have power. Let's dive into to this truth and learn a few tips on how to change the words we use on this episode of LifeClub. LifeWork Based on this session, set aside at least 10 minutes, to complete and reflect on the following: + Note, how you are physical feeling in your body in this moment when it comes to physical energy/sensations. + Say the following 10 words out loud: Beautiful Free Prosperity Wonderful Awesome Grateful Confident Peaceful Advancement Stability + Now, check in and note how you are currently feeling after saying our list of words. Do you feel a difference? If so, journal what you are experiencing. If not, say them again, and check in. + After doing so, come up with a list of your own words that describe how you would like to feel on a daily basis and words that describe experiences you would like to have. For example, let's say you would like to experience a healthy relationship with someone you love, describe what that relationship would look and feel like (i.e. peaceful, exciting, productive, and supportive, etc.). Do the same activity we just completed by checking in with how you physically feel in your body. Some words that describe physical sensations in the body include lighter, calmer, and energized, etc.) + Be sure to journal your experience. The word toxic is tossed around quite a bit in connection pertaining to other people but have you ever considered the toxic connections you may have when it comes to thinking patterns and behaviors. Today we will be speaking about comfort zones. There is a difference between a comfort zone and being comfortable. When many speak about comfort zones what they are really speaking about is a space of avoidance where parameters are set up with the goal of keeping them “safe”. On this episode, we unpack avoidance, discover what patterns may me holding us back, and seek new ways of going forward one step at a time. Here is your lifework: Based on this session, set aside at least 10 minutes, and begin to reflect on and consider the following: Do you tend to avoid certain areas of daily living on a regular basis in your personal or professional life? Examples include spending time in healthy activities with friends, resisting making certain phone calls, or procrastinating completing a profitable task that you actually would like to accomplish? Are you able to identify patterns of overthinking which show up as questioning a decision you've already made or coming up with arguments of defense within your mind? Do you tend to talk aka think yourself out of healthy activities you'd genuinely like to participate in? Describe the comfort zones you've created for yourself. In other words, what are the behaviors and thinking patterns of avoidance you practice? In what areas do you practice these patterns? Now, consider the why beneath that avoidance and at least 1 to three new patterns and behaviors that may support you in going forward to accomplish the very things you've been running away from due to avoidance but would actually benefit you. Be sure to journal your experience. And feel free to share that experience in the comment section. About LifeClub The Podcast LifeClub w/ Tashima Jones is a feel-good podcast. On this episode, we will be speaking about overachieving and its association with fear. While most may deem it admirable for a person to work diligently in their profession and even being reliable in their personal life, oftentimes the underlying driving force of that diligence may be fear. If you had a chance to check out the latest Quick Read article on tashimajones.com you are more aware of how overthinking and overreacting are closely linked with one another and are common causes in becoming overwhelmed. Let's discover ways to rise above overachieving by scaling back in order to enjoy your personal and professional life a bit more every day. LifeWork Based on this session, set aside at least 10 minutes, and begin to reflect on and consider the following: Are you an overachiever? Is your self-worth (again, how you see and value yourself) based on performance and external possessions? Does performance impact your emotions, self-perception, and how you show up in the world? Do you work harder out of fear of previous life events? Were you expected to take care of yourself and others at a young age or looked to as the one to lead and manage those around you? Are you motivated by fear or expected to not make a mistake? Do you have the habit of not asking for help and difficulty with setting and sticking to boundaries? Have you achieved most of what you desired yet still feel unfulfilled? Do you experience burnout or restlessness on a regular basis but feel as if you haven't accomplished much? Are you anxious about resting and taking day to relax? Are you able to identify moments in time when you made a pact with yourself to sacrifice rest in order to achieve? Do you have more than what you can realistically accomplish in a day on your to-do list for the day? Do you get frustrated when you don't complete your to-list on the same day? When you do complete your to-do list do you add on more tasks or take that time to relax As you reflect on the questions above, consider healthy resolutions to the fear and hypersensitivity and begin to value yourself within by recognizing that you are truly priceless and not amount of work or material wealth can change that. On this episode, we are focusing on Identity Shifting and the role it plays in mindset. Most people struggle with healing their perspective because they see themselves through a distorted lens of old experiences, by who they used to be, or from their childhood self. When one is looking at their past as a point of reference it is quite difficult to establish a new mindset. As we journey along this session, we will see how Identity shifting plays a major role in shifting our mindset and life overall. LifeWork Based on this episode, set aside at least 20 minutes to start and consider the following: How do you see yourself? What are your core morals and values about yourself? About the world (including people and systems)? Do you walk in with a sense of power, love, and purpose? Were you supported as a child when it came to core needs (including positive affirmation, a nurturing environment (one fit for physical, mental, and emotional growth and well-being), consistency/stability, and love (in speech and action)? How does your thinking reflect old experiences, your true identity, and/or a distortion of your identity? On this episode, we are focusing on becoming better listeners. There are some major keys to being a good listener starting with what you choose to listen to. Let's explore those keys and how to apply them on this episode of LifeClub. Episode LifeWork: Here is your lifework: Consider the definitions from today's session. Set aside at least 10 minutes per definition throughout this week and respond to the following 1. How have I defined listening? You can get clues to your perspective of listening by reflection on how you navigate conversation. Are you an active listener? Do you listen passively? Do you listen with the intention of defending yourself? Do you listen with the intention to respond to the person speaking? 2. What do you pay attention to? Who have you been giving heed to? What ideas and thoughts do you bend towards? Clues of where your attention is invested can be found by looking at your daily schedule and seeing where your time is spent. 3. Is it easy for most people to have access to you? Can people who call or text you any day or time? Are you easily distracted by idle activities or people who may be pull you away from what's important? Bonus 4. Evaluate who and what you honor then consider whether or not you should be honoring them and if so, are you honoring them through true listening? 5. Are you truly listening to yourself? Are you listening in the way you would like others to listen to you? Be sure to journal your experience. On this episode, we conclude our Slow & Simple Living Series. Over the most recent weeks, I'e had to apply the very things we have been discussing. Today we are focusing on having an expansive belief system and practicing what we have gained. Episode LifeWork Consider your mindset and how “expansive” you think. Set aside at least 10 minutes to reflect on the following: Think about your stream of daily thoughts. Would you say your thoughts are more limited than expansive? Is there a fear of expecting good experiences? If so, discover the reason or events that have influenced limited thinking then and decided if you would like those thoughts to continue to influence how you think today and going forward? 4. If you have an expansive belief system, journal the wins you have experienced along the journey. For the next three days, focus on previous wins and how those experiences can positively impact your journey of slow living. 5. Make a decision to be intentional about practicing living slowly, regardless of contrary thoughts, feelings, or circumstances put into practice of what it's like to live in rest mode. Read Addicted to Busy (And Not to BE) on TashimaJones.com. It's a quick article and can be read in about 3 minutes. It speaks about low power mode activities, rest, and more. Be sure to journal your experience. On this episode, we will discuss three key benefits of slowing down and how rest begets success. When we consider a slower pace of living many look at what isn't being done versus the rewards they are gaining. Living in a hurry comes with tension, overlooking details, and puts a tax on fulfillment. Let's dig into defining success and three returns on investing in a more natural way of living. Episode LifeWork: Set aside at least 5 minutes to reflect on the following: 1. Using this episode's definition, what does success look like in your daily life? 2. How has other definitions of success defined your personal progress? 3. How would your daily life be different if you had more clarity? 4. How has rushing impacted your creativity and inspiration? 5. What are some areas where insight is needed and how has rushing/not resting influenced your decision making? Be sure to journal your experience. Listen to hear about the importance of focusing on value by offering it before expecting returns. If you're an entrepreneur looking for ways to make a profit, this episode is a must-listen. Episode Highlights00:49 - So, it starts off just by me figuring out, "Hey, what's going on with you? What is your current accounting process and tax process now?" And from there, go into where are you trying to get things to go? And not just with your business, but like you as a whole. Where are you trying to take things? So, I can understand how to strategize for you and assist you. And truth be told, I got on those calls with no expectations to make a sale and made sales. I was booking clientele. Another thing I did, I did not budge on my price. I budged on my price two times the first year I started that business. And both of those clients were clients that I ended up having to fire and were like my worst clients. So, I did not budge on my price. That was a big thing. And then eventually, which helped me go from 7K a month to 10K and 12K a month, was me niching down. And I started to only work with people in the entertainment industry.Connect with ElzieLinkedInPowered By Podcast Town We Help B2B Brands grow their revenue through podcasting. If you're looking to take your career to the next level or start your own business, this episode is a must-listen.Episode Highlights00:58 - The technique that I used in order to generate those clients so quickly - video. I posted every day, multiple times a day. I use video. I use just regular text. And at the time, for my accounting business, I was only on Facebook and Instagram. So, one thing, go to where your clients are. If you're marketing on Instagram, but your people are on LinkedIn, you're confused. So, I stuck with Facebook and Instagram because I knew that's where my people were. When I say I overdid it with video, I was doing video constantly. And I think the big thing that got people was that I was giving free game. I was providing value that you probably could have found on YouTube, but I made it more personable.Connect with ElzieLinkedInPowered By Podcast Town We Help B2B Brands grow their revenue through podcasting. Don't just find a coach who's trying to make a dollar. Find a coach who is serious about helping you get to point A to point B. And if I'm being honest, I think if you are in a place where you don't know where to start, you're confused, you need clarity, don't go buy a course. You don't need a course. You need something a little more hands on. I bought basically a course, and it was a lot of work. I think the only thing that helped me was the support group that I got access to from buying that course. So, not necessarily the course, but that group, that support system. Be very picky about who you choose in the beginning as a coach.Connect with ElzieLinkedInPowered By Podcast Town We Help B2B Brands grow their revenue through podcasting. So, I had already started to work on certain things to set myself up for success. I didn't then know that God was going to push me out the door at the beginning of 2020 to get to that success. Are millennials approaching entrepreneurship in a different way compared to the old school methods of their predecessors? Elzie and Tashima Freeman explore this topic and share their unique perspectives. Tashima, a millennial entrepreneur herself, argues that the younger generation has higher goals, and notes the ever-changing landscape of entrepreneurship. She shares how her grandmother, an older entrepreneur, remains successful by sticking with tried and tested methods. Are you curious to find out how different generations approach entrepreneurship? Hear how the different generations got their own goals, methods and tools for achieving success, not just financially, but also in terms of personal growth and fulfillment. Tune in to this episode to learn more about the different approaches to entrepreneurship and how to achieve success in the modern business world. Episode Highlights01:40 - This is not to discredit anyone who's older. Our dreams for the younger generation is just a little bit more higher. We are looking for legitimate generational wealth, and we don't just want to start it and then die and let our kids have it. We want to experience it and live through it, too. So, back then, they're like, "I'm good with making my 250 a year." Over here, we need a little bit more than 250 a year. We're like, "Okay, where's the half a mil? We're trying to get a little closer to seven figures." And once we get to 1.2 million in our business, we're like, "Okay, if we can do that, we can do more." So, I think one, the goal of what we're trying to reach in the younger generation is a lot higher, if I would say, than what some of the older generation is trying to reach.Connect with ElzieLinkedInPowered By Podcast Town We Help B2B Brands grow their revenue through podcasting. I love accounting. It is definitely near and dear to my heart. I started doing taxes in about 2013, so I was still in college. So, I've built up a lot of experience so that I could be credible. And it's something I've done up until 2020. And when I say that, I mean corporate-wise. I was fired from my corporate job in 2020 and the next day started to make strides and motions to launch my own accounting firm, and I did.
