This is kind of a new, new one for us. He doesn't just have expertise in the e-commerce space. Instead, he has a much broader landscape in the mindset shifts and tools he's going to be able to share with us. I know are going to be able to have a tremendous impact on your business. Today, I'm excited to introduce you to Mario Lanza, a high performance coach, a TEDx speaker with over 1 million views, and a conscious leader, Mario Lanza. He travels the world helping entrepreneurs make more money in half the time through building an unstoppable mindset from CEOs to Olympians and mission driven entrepreneurs. Mario helps high achievers all across the world gain the mental clarity and focus necessary through his masterclasses on conscious leadership and next level mindsets. So with that introduction, welcome to the show, Mario.Mario 00:00:58 Josh, thank you so much for having me on the show. I'm really excited, and I think you and I were going to have a powerful conversation filled with lots of value for your listeners.Josh 00:01:07 One of those inner thoughts in my mind, when I'm having to make either a difficult decision or I have to slow down in order to like create an SOP or to hire a team member because, you know, that's that's the next step. That's what needs to happen. My frustration is I think that those should what are the things I know I should be doing? And it's more along the lines of, I should have a $100 million business. I look at all the other successful e-commerce businesses. I feel like I'm just as capable as they are, but I'm doing something wrong. I'm spending too much time on these little tasks and I'm making this a little decision, like, why am I not at that $100 million already? And what what would you say to that? Like, I feel like that's what's kind of like deep down. Like I have this vision of I love my potential, but I'm not there yet, right? And so I beat myself up.Mario 00:02:07 Yeah. This is a classical one.Mario 00:02:09 And again, I want to honor you for stepping one step further out. And I think a lot of your listeners will be will resonate with that because they look at where they are and then they tell themselves, I'm not where I'm supposed to be. There's so much inside of me that can be brought up. And, you know, it's true. There is so much more inside of you that can be brought out. But the reason it's not already out is because actually, you do not want the 100 million. Because if you have the 100 million, you know that there's something that's going to increase. Often in a mental perspective, the amount of problems will increase, right? That's why they say biggie made the song. More money, more problems, more responsibility, more, more being on your own because, you know, you climb the mountain even higher and so. Less people to relate to. If you're the 100 million guy, maybe in your family, you're the only one. And so nobody really, truly knows how Josh feels when Josh is by himself.Mario 00:03:09 And so all of that is what I call a self-sabotaging mechanism, where you tell yourself consciously, yep, I want the $100 million business. But unconsciously you are scared of that. Because here's the thing what a self-sabotaging mechanism is. It's your conscious mind working against your unconscious mind. And if you've ever seen the picture of the iceberg where you know, you see the tiny peak above the water and the huge body underneath, your unconscious mind makes up about 95% of everything. So if you are like, yes, I want that $100 million business, your unconscious mind. No bro no no no no no, not gonna happen. That's way too much. So first of all, I would have you look at the reality of the way that you're showing up and divorce this idea that what you want is the $100 billion business. Because if your behavior shows the opposite, what you really want is you want to stay safe. You want to stay in control. You want to stay in your comfort zone. And there's nothing wrong with that.Mario 00:04:12 That's the first realization that I would bring in. And then second is to look at what is it that's missing for you if you truly want to get to that $100 million level, there are certain needs that you have that are currently not being fulfilled. It might be more of a support system. It might be someone like a coach or a...

Warum berühren uns manche Menschen so tief?

What if failure isn't the opposite of winning — but the gift that makes it possible? In Part 2 of this two-part conversation, Your Health CEO Matt Staub opens up about the present he gave himself at 40: permission to fail. Then he shows what that looks like when life tests it — walking Jamie through a 2025 that brought prostate cancer, his daughter's surgery, the loss of his father, and professional hardship, and the quiet strength it takes to look back and say, "That was a good try. I'm still here. I'm hard to beat." Whoever scores the most goals wins. Simple — until you leave the field and try to keep score in your actual life, where there's no referee and no final whistle. So how do you know if you're winning? In Part 1 of this two-part conversation, Your Health CEO Matt Staub sits down with Jamie Preston to redefine what a win actually is. Matt opens with the daily ritual that grounds him — making it to the gym — and the moment he realized the win wasn't the scale or the heavier lift, but the discipline of showing up at all. In this episode, you'll hear: Why the heaviest weight at the gym is the front door — and what that teaches about every goal The hidden cost of only celebrating the big wins (hint: it's called burnout) What a humbling match-play golf loss taught Jamie about changing the goal instead of the game Why Matt believes pressure is a privilege — and how he leans into it Who actually decides what counts as a win, and what to do when there's no scoreboard This is the half where winning gets redefined from the outside in. Press play, then come back next week for Part 2 — where it gets personal.

Youth sports is a $19 billion industry built around athletes and coaches that has completely overlooked the most consistent adult in every young athlete's life: the parent. Alex Hocevar, co-founder of Supporter, spent 25 years in digital transformation before his own experience navigating the NCAA recruiting process with a competitive swimmer daughter revealed a massive gap in the system. He breaks down why parents are the missing leg of the youth sports stool, how Supporter delivers contextual, jurisdiction-aware guidance in real time, and why shifting the industry's mindset is the real challenge ahead. Key Takeaways: 7:53 — Parents in youth sports land on a spectrum between disengaged and overbearing, and both extremes ultimately hurt the athlete. 17:14 — The NCAA recruiting process is a clear example of how parents are left without direction, often unaware of critical timelines and pathways until it is too late. 20:07 — Supporter fills three specific gaps that generic AI tools miss: context for the individual athlete, jurisdiction-aware answers, and guidance calibrated to the parent's own knowledge level. 27:25 — The biggest challenge for a new sports-parent platform is breaking into the fragmented ecosystem of clubs, leagues, and organizations at scale. Quote of the Show (29:00):"You go to ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, whatever, and it'll give you an answer, and it'll sound authoritative. The reality is once you get under the covers on what it's saying, it's not necessarily the best answer for you." — Alex Hocevar Join our Anti-PR newsletter where we’re keeping a watchful and clever eye on PR trends, PR fails, and interesting news in tech so you don't have to. At 70 years old, Jeff broke four ultra-distance cycling world records in a single day, and he did it after training for only a few months. On this episode of The Upgraded Man Podcast, host Chris Anderson sits down with the record-breaking cyclist, former aerobatic pilot, and performance coach to take apart one of the most common excuses men hide behind: a lack of motivation. Jeff makes the case that motivation is overrated, and that the real engine behind a life of achievement is learning to enjoy the process, set the right goals, and pivot without shame when something stops serving you. In this episode, you will learn: Why motivation is overrated and enjoying the process is what actually sustains long-term effort The difference between quitting and "pivoting," and why Jeff reframes walking away as a strength rather than a failure How to set goals that are "50 percent believable" so they never become a to-do list or a pipe dream The four-stage path to mastery: discovery, training, practice, and teaching, and how to copy it from a skill you already have Why complacency is the real enemy, and the rare moments when it actually works in your favor How a safety net makes a career or life pivot responsible instead of reckless What overtraining taught Jeff about the gap between hating an activity and hating how it makes you feel Why writing down your strengths and challenges gives your goals real power Jeff is a cycling and performance coach who has set multiple records through the World Ultra Cycling Association, competed for years as an aerobatic pilot, and raised roughly $15,000 for his local Parkinson's community. His approach blends decades of athletic experience with a coaching philosophy focused on building people up, not just making them faster. Learn more and connect with Jeff at JeffsCoaching.com.
