Welcome to another session of LifeClub with me Tashima Jones. Today we are focusing on what happy people have in common. There is much talk about happiness and how to obtain it, but what exactly is happiness itself? It's not something you can purchase at the store or order online. Its structure isn't something that can be seen with the natural eye or physically grasped. Let's explore the state of being happy together on this episode of LifeClub! Be sure to complete your Life Work (inclued in each episode). About LifeClub The Podcast LifeClub w/ Tashima Jones is a feel-good podcast. It can be seen as a mini coaching session with Tashima, complete with LifeWork and action steps to take after the show. Send us a textHave you ever told yourself "I can't do this" based solely on past failures? That moment when your mind convinces you something is impossible despite how much stronger, smarter, or more capable you've become?During a recent Strive Elite workout, I witnessed a member reach her breaking point while attempting an exercise she believed was beyond her capabilities. Tears welled up as she repeatedly told herself she couldn't do it. What followed was a powerful lesson about how our limiting beliefs—often based on outdated experiences—can create artificial barriers to our potential. The breakthrough came from a simple pattern interrupt: standing up, taking a breath, and listening with fresh perspective. After resetting her mindset, this member not only completed the exercise but performed three full sets. The limitation existed solely in her mind, not her physical capabilities.Sometimes we need to borrow belief from others who see potential in us that we don't yet recognize. As a coach, I frequently tell my clients: "I'm not going to ask you to do anything I don't believe you can do." This external confidence can bridge the gap between self-doubt and self-belief until you prove it to yourself through action. This principle applies universally. My entrepreneurial journey includes what I call my "graveyard of businesses"—failed ventures that could have reinforced the belief that success wasn't possible. Instead, I maintained that success was inevitable; it wasn't a question of if, but when. Strive 11 emerged after five years of ups and downs, demonstrating that persistence eventually overcomes temporary failure.Whatever goal you're pursuing, remember that your past performance is not your permanent truth. Set mini-milestones, celebrate small wins, and be willing to step back up to the plate and swing again. Your breakthrough is waiting on the other side of that limiting belief.Have you been holding yourself back based on outdated beliefs about your capabilities?
In this empowering episode of Coaching In Session, Michael Rearden takes on the widely accepted but limiting belief of being “good enough.” He exposes how this mindset leads to mediocrity, stagnation, and untapped potential. Michael challenges listeners to rise above societal norms and inherited standards through radical honesty, shifting personal expectations, and consistent growth-driven action. This episode outlines a five-step process designed to disrupt the cycle of complacency and push individuals toward a life of excellence and fulfillment. If you've ever felt like you're settling—or waiting for the “right time” to go all in—this conversation is your wake-up call.Key Takeaways: ✅ Many people unknowingly settle for a “good enough” life ✅ Ownership without growth leads to stagnation ✅ You may inherit your start, but you choose your finish ✅ Radical honesty is a foundation for self-evolution ✅ Raising your standards opens the door to higher potential ✅ Growth requires consistent action, not occasional effort ✅ Who you surround yourself with shapes your mindset ✅ Waiting is just procrastination in disguise ✅ There's no cap on what you can achieve—unless you create it ✅ A life of abundance begins when you stop settlingResources:

Welcome to another Dolly in My Pocket — the short solo series within The extra-Ordinary Leader podcast, designed to offer pithy, practical leadership insights to carry into your week. This episode is about quitting — but not in the way you think.I'm not talking about giving up alcohol or bad habits. I'm talking about something far more radical: quitting the automatic “yeses” and inherited “nos” that shape how we spend our time, attention, and energy.I unpack a powerful idea: every time you say yes to something, you're saying no to something else — and vice versa. This matters. Because if you're constantly saying yes to what's familiar, you may be unintentionally saying no to the future you actually want.I also share one of my favourite quotes by Augustine of Hippo, the myth of Prince Charming, and what happened when I started saying “no” to Wednesdays. If you're hoping this year will turn out differently, this is the episode that reminds you: hope isn't a strategy.
