Life is messy, beautiful, heartbreaking, happy, and everything in between. It’s those moments that help shape us, give us insight into who we are at our core, and hopefully help craft relationships that will last a lifetime. Events like loss, birth, marriage, graduation and so many more are like road markers along our personal paths, and things don’t always (for better or worse) go as planned. But it’s the story and the results that define who we are - and it’s those life-changing stories that will be coming to you this January with Jaj, who recently found herself a widow with 2 young kids, and Rylee, a budding entrepreneur whose big dreams and even bigger drive are being juggled with the adventure of being a newlywed. Their stories aren’t perfect, but that’s not what we’re here for. We’re learning as we go and hopefully, coming out better than we began. Listen to “Good As New†an imperfectly perfect podcast sharing the moments that break us and build us stronger.
The Good As New podcast is an absolute gem that brings joy and laughter into my life every Tuesday. Hosted by Rylee and Jaj, their casual and funny banter creates a comfortable and enjoyable listening experience. It feels like I'm joining in on a conversation between friends, which is perfect for someone like me who works alone for most of the day. This podcast has become a highlight of my week, making my Tuesdays 1000% better.
One of the best aspects of The Good As New podcast is the positive outlook on life that Rylee and Jaj bring to each episode. Even in the face of challenges, they maintain a refreshing perspective that inspires listeners to find joy and appreciate the little things. Whether I'm laughing or crying along with them, this podcast reminds me not to take anything for granted. Additionally, the hosts often interview guest stars and share write-in stories, adding variety and relatability to their content.
While it's difficult to find any major flaws with this podcast, one minor downside might be that episodes are released only once a week. The engaging conversations and delightful atmosphere created by Rylee and Jaj leave listeners wanting more, so having additional episodes throughout the week would be fantastic. However, this slight drawback doesn't detract from the overall quality and enjoyment of The Good As New podcast.
In conclusion, The Good As New podcast is a must-listen for anyone seeking entertainment, laughter, and genuine conversations. Rylee and Jaj's authenticity shines through every episode, making it feel like you're sitting in a room with your best friends. From poignant life advice to relatable stories, this podcast offers an array of emotions while leaving listeners feeling refreshed and good as new. Give it a listen – you won't regret it!
Send us a textOkay, deep breath… we've got good news and bad news. And because we're us, we're obviously starting with the bad: this is our last episode for a while. Like summer break vibes, but with more emotional damage and fewer popsicles. Life is lifing, chaos is chaosing, and honestly—we're at max capacity. Mentally, physically, hormonally. So we're hitting pause on new episodes until fall, when we'll (hopefully) return as refreshed queens with something better to say than “I don't know what's going on anymore.”In this short but sweet episode, we're talking about what's next, why we're pressing pause, and what we hope you'll do in the meantime (hint: it involves sunshine and hugging your people). It's not goodbye forever—it's just a “we'll see you in September with new stories and hopefully better lashes.”
Send us a textThis week, we're diving headfirst into the emotional rollercoaster that is being a girl—and spoiler alert: it's a full-time job with zero PTO, hormonal chaos, and overpriced skincare. We're talking spray tans as therapy, backseat babysitting, outfit meltdowns, mascara-induced rage, and why a $7 deodorant should be considered a luxury item.BUT we're also shouting out the best parts—like glam nights, bikini boxes (yes, really), the magic of girlhood, and how we can go from Adam Sandler to smokeshow in 10 minutes flat. We also debate the ultimate question: is there a single show everyone agrees on? (It's not The White Lotus, apparently.)Basically, it's all things estrogen-fueled, deeply relatable, and aggressively girly—in the best way.Grab your Diet Coke and your lash curler, we're getting into it.Hug Your People, and Then Hug Them Again Find us here: Instagram Website Tiktok Our latest merchandise DROP
Send us a textOkay so here's the tea: last week's episode? Ghosted us. Literally. Power blinked, vibes were high, we were batching like podcast queens and then poof — lights out, files gone, and everyone thought we quit. (We didn't. Chill.)This week we're BACK, caffeinated, chatty, and spiraling in the best way. Jaj moves and Rylee's new salon is taking shape, and how we both basically want a pizza oven and a pool more than we want inner peace. Also: birthday feels, spring energy, single mom power moves, Coachella FOMO, why polygamy kind of makes sense (hear us out), and a Bachelor recap that'll have you yelling “COME ON NOW” at your phone.Just two girls processing life with a mic and a meltdown. You know the drill.
Send us a textYou want chaos? You got it. In this week's episode, Rylee and Jaj are barely hanging on — one home purchase, salon build, concert, and emotional spiral at a time. One's broke. One's stressed. Both feel like gremlins. We deep dive into why opening a business feels like birthing a porcupine, why buying a house alone should come with emotional hazard pay, and how Kelsey Ballerini somehow saved our week (even though we knew exactly three of her songs).Oh, and don't worry — we also manage to spiral about screen-addicted tweens, fireplace placement drama, the downfall of society, and… a Utah nurse murder plot?? Yeah. Buckle up. It's a hot mess express with snacks.Press play and feel better about your life.Hug Your People, and Then Hug Them Again Find us here: Instagram Website Tiktok Our latest merchandise DROP
Send us a textDaylight savings is ruining our lives, Rylee's dodging an arrest warrant (okay, fine, just a speeding ticket), and Jaj is basically a world traveler now—except she held her pee for five hours out of pure social anxiety. Also, why do men treat vacations like a triathlon? We need answers. We're unpacking it all, plus the absolute insanity of trying to function in March (who even likes this month?!). Oh, and we're diving into your luckiest life moments—because some of you are way more blessed than the rest of us.Buckle up, we're going off.
You know it's gonna be a good episode when we kick things off with a full-blown identity crisis and a Bachelor recap. But buckle up, because this one takes a wild turn. Rylee lived through what can only be described as a real-life apocalypse simulation at a massive cheer competition in Texas—where the words “shooter” and “bomb threat” sent 70,000 people into absolute chaos. Running for her life, losing track of her sister, and somehow becoming a guardian angel for a lost child? It's giving stress-induced aging.Meanwhile, we also unpack the universal February/March Ugly Season™, where no amount of self-tanner or Hot Pilates classes can fix the vibes. And, in true unhinged fashion, we spiral into the Gabby Petito and Ruby Franke documentaries because why not add one more layer of emotional damage? If you love hearing near-death experiences mixed with pop culture hot takes and mild existential dread, this episode is for you. Grab a blanket, hug your people, and maybe invest in an AirTag for your kids.Hug Your People, and Then Hug Them Again Find us here: Instagram Website Tiktok Our latest merchandise DROP
Well, well, well… look who decided to bless your ears again! We're back, and this time, we're serving up the best date night ideas—aka, the ones that don't suck. After roasting bad date stories a few weeks ago, we figured it was only fair to highlight the ones that actually delivered romance, fun, and zero secondhand embarrassment. From candlelit Wendy's to Northern Lights cheesecake rendezvous, you guys came through with some date ideas that range from sweet and simple to “wow, my relationship is boring.” So if you're in need of some date-night inspiration (or just here to laugh at our collective life struggles), press play.Hug your people. Okay, let's be honest—neither of us is exactly rolling in it right now, but today, we're talking about feeling rich. You know, like when you were a kid, and you thought someone with a fridge full of Capri Suns was basically a millionaire? Yeah, that kind of rich.In this episode, we take a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about all the completely unhinged things that made people seem wealthy to our childhood brains—trampolines, pot fillers, hidden garbage cans (a real status symbol, apparently). Oh, and of course, we spiral into a mild existential crisis about adult “richness” (hello, two trash bins and a working ice maker). Also, Rylee is losing her mind running a salon, Jaj is still recovering from the trauma of house hunting, and we both needed this episode before committing a felony. So, if you're ready for some unfiltered chaos, unhinged childhood logic, and a deep appreciation for Lunchables, hit play now.Hug your people. Welcome back to Good As New, where today we're diving headfirst into the romantic dumpster fire that is worst date stories. From motorcycle crashes to unexpected ex-wife run-ins, unsolicited serenades to literal hostage situations (we wish we were kidding)—this episode will make you grateful for every uneventful, mediocre date you've ever had.We also get into our own chaotic lives: Josh barely survived an avalanche (casual), Rylee is opening a salon (pray for her), and somehow, somehow, we all survived the Super Bowl's biggest scandal—Travis Kelce's haircut. So grab a Diet Coke, settle in, and get ready to cringe, cackle, and maybe even reconsider dating altogether. Happy Valentine's, lovers.
Happy Love Month, people! Whether you're a hopeless romantic or a proud Valentine's Day hater, we've got thoughts. Lots of them. This week, we break down the bizarre relationship limbo of being apart for 10 whole days (does it get awkward?? Do we need a ‘Welcome Home' sign??), our hot takes on The Bachelor (spoiler: we were SHOCKED at that first impression rose), and why we will never understand Kanye's wife's wardrobe choices at the Grammys. Also on the docket: Beyoncé winning a country album award (justice for Chris Stapleton), Miley's jellyfish haircut, the absolute fever dream of Charlie XCX's performance, and whether Lady Gaga is legally required to terrify us at every award show. Oh, and in true Good As New fashion, we're starving and deeply discussing the ethics of In-N-Out vs. Raising Cane's.Buckle up for a ride of hot takes, chaotic energy, and unsolicited opinions. Hit play, grab some food (because we didn't), and let's get into it.
How soon is too soon to move on? Is there a time-limit on healing? What are the appropriate steps to take when moving on from loss after love? In today's episode we talk about navigating the complicated, heart-wrenching journey of love after loss. Yep, we're diving deep into those "When are you getting married?" questions (thanks for the pressure, guys). If you've ever wondered how to balance hope and fear, or how to find joy without letting go of the past, this one's for you.Plus, I share my recent scalp spa adventure—because, apparently, rice water is the secret to hair as long as your toddler's list of illnesses. And yes, I've got the cringe-worthy before-and-after scalp photos to prove it. You're welcome! So whether you're in the mood for a laugh, a good cry, or just some unfiltered real talk, this episode's got a little something for everyone. Hit play, grab a tissue, and let's navigate this beautiful mess together.
Today's guest, Brett, takes us on a wild ride through his unexpected journey of going from a thriving fitness buff to a fatigued shadow of himself. Despite numerous doctor visits and extensive testing, no one could figure out the root cause of his symptoms—until he took matters into his own hands. After enduring this grueling journey, he's regained his health, feeling Good as New, and found a new purpose in running marathons, inspiring others, and spreading the message of gratitude and perseverance. In light of everything that's been lost to those in Southern California, it has us asking what makes us feel rich? Forget yachts and diamond rings—true wealth might just be watching your kids excel at a sport or having people show up for you in a time of need. After seeing people redefine what it means to be ‘rich' in the wake of loss, we asked our listeners: What makes you feel wealthy? And let me tell you, the answers are pure gold. Plus, we're spilling on navigating the “holiday parent split,” setting boundaries, and how to gracefully dodge your mother-in-law's cinnamon rolls when you're secretly craving your mom's stuffing.Takeaway? This week, we're switching our internal dialogue. You know, the voice that groans about morning sickness, the endless laundry, or the chaos that comes with kids. This week, we're thrilled to have the one and only Maddie Reece, who we literally dragged from lunch to the studio because, let's face it, we're that kind of spontaneous. Maddie is a girl's girl. She's that childhood BFF who becomes your maid of honor, romanticizes every guy she goes on a date with, and is a marketing genius who makes extroverts seem introverted. She's finally joining us on the pod to tell us how awkward it can get when your date's ex is sitting right next to you, her thoughts on living in Hawaii, and now that she's graduating, what's next on her list. Buckle up, because we're diving into all of that and more. So, grab your headphones, a glass of whatever keeps you sane, and get ready to feel Good as New. Tune in and let the fun begin!4oYou've reached your GPT-4o limit.Responses will use GPT-3.5 until your limit resets after 3:34 AM.Get PlusWhat It's Like To Be...What's it like to be a Cattle Rancher? Ask someone their favorite thing at your own peril. That can be an exhaustive list to some people and difficult for most. So we're hacking the system and doing rapid-fire top 3. The goal? We are asking each other our top 3 of anything and everything. It's simple, concise, and will help you get to know your people AND keep it brief.

There is a particular sort of pause — a small, electric interval — that comes immediately before you make a choice. This strange split-second where you freeze, reflect, take stock, and move forward. These instances are important: it's in these seconds that we exercise our greatest form of agency. We take responsibility for the shape of our narratives. We remind ourselves of the massive scope of our power. Whether embarking on our first solo trip or coming out to a loved one, these moments often become turning points in our lives.Did CJ pause before he climbed into the truck that would forever separate him from his family? And you've heard from Jaj frequently about how that moment forever changed her life and by extension, the lives of those who love them. Some things are big, some are small, but all are meaningful. We asked you about the moments that have shaped and changed the way you think, love, feel, and ultimately, live. One thing is super clear: from near-death experiences to moving across the world, your experiences have definitely shaped you into truly remarkable individuals.
When we first started this podcast, Rylee was in her newlywed era while Jaj was in her grief era. Now, almost 2 years later, life looks different. We're both in new eras and dealing with the highs and lows that come with both. So we asked you, dear listeners, what era are you currently in? We're updating you on ours and sharing yours so we can all grow together.

Pearl Harbor was a really big day in America…not to be confused with the Boston Tea Party. But Jaj didn't know that. We've all been there, right? That moment where you speak an internal thought out loud and you instantly know it's not your finest moment. Don't worry, you're not alone. Heck, we didn't even know that Cincinnati wasn't a state. So listen in as we share the dummest things you've ever said.
Baths are better than showers, biker shorts are OVER, and we didn't initially like Taylor Swift's new song with Post Malone. But these are just our hot takes. We asked you to share yours and they are piping hot takes! You submitted some harsh realities. Fire came and the earth was scorched leaving no one safe.
We live in a world that has so many incredibly good things, sweet drinks, cute clothes, and way too many other things that seriously tests our self control. So what if we had a little allergy? Not death-inducing, nothing requiring an epipen. A low-level allergy that would deter us from getting too much of a good thing. If we lived in a movie, it could even be a very manly, omnipotent voice that would stop us in our tracks as we reached for one more cookie or tells us to go to bed when we're staying up to late. Are we on to something here?
In 13 Going on 30, 13-year-old Jenna Rink is an awkward girl whose only desire is to be “thirty, flirty and thriving.” She magically gets her wish granted, waking up in 2004 at the age of 30 and not remembering anything that has transpired over the course of the last 17 years. Jaj celebrated her 30th birthday this week and while there was no time warp to get there, she did reflect on what she hoped for in her 30s. We also asked all of you what you hoped for in your 30s and it was lovely to hear about these dreams. We also shared some of our makeup favorites::Rare Beauty Comfort hair and body mist and lotionAnastasia Brow FreezeCharlotte Tillbury lip liner in the shade Pillow TalkNudestixOur favorite medspa Maven Medical Arts is in the running for top medspa in Best of SLC. We can definitely tell it's spring because everything feels a little crazy. From merch drops (we're so glad you loved this last one) and The Bachelor to our very chill spring break and Jaj hanging out with Post Malone, we have a lot to catch up on. So this is our vibe check. We're checking in and catching up and reliving those moments where our vibe was HIGH!
August 7th, 2020 started out as a beautiful day. Jazlyn and her husband Shad took their friends and two of their sons for a ride in Shad's plane to show off the beautiful county they live in from way up high. What started as a fun day with friends quickly took a turn as the plane literally fell from the sky. Guided by a still small voice, protected in prayer, and the first of many miracles to follow, every passenger made it out alive. But just barely. Nothing can ever prepare you for life after you survive a plane crash. In fact, Jazlyn still struggles to wrap her mind around what happened most days. But her story is one of compassion, true love and the real meaning of service. Join us as Jazlyn recounts the day that irrevocably changed her life and the lives of so many others.
