Ep. 033 - Loving yourself. Let’s really discuss the how one must view self without being egotistic or selfish. What type of self-love and trust do we need to be our best selfs? Fear and insecurities is what leads us down the wrong path, must conquer self to serve the world. Get in the flow, create a chain of positive reinforcement. “ How do we handle conflict? How do we have positive experiences when we talk through problems? Also, how problematic are the problems we struggle with? Ep. 031 - Hugh and Tikh are inspired by @RyanHoliday's article about living a full life by age 30. First, how can we make sure that what we learn, we really learn? For learning to become knolwedge, the information must be imprinted deep in our memory networks. Second, doing what we want - how much control we really have over this and how we cannot forget this incredible blessing we have. Lastly, the importance of doing the work. Ep. 025 - a lesson about positive feedback from the stoics. Positive feedback can be dangerous. It is important to handle positive feedback well - and there are approaches to this. A lack of direction in life can be a difficult thing to cope with. However, it is important to reframe the way we think about our life direction. Sometimes, this makes all of the difference. Lastly, what to do when we're living under 100? Life will drag us down. We will succumb to negative thoughts and emotions. How do break out and get back to living at 100?
Ep. 024 - Tikh attended an AIGA talk from prominent designer Jason Mayden. Mayden shared an interesting take on mastery rendering it 'dead' in some regard. Now, before you dismiss this idea, be open-minded with this one. Mayden says that our society will continue to see more polymaths - people wide wide-ranging skills. The speed at which things are changing will continue to feel crazy. How do we keep up? Forgetting about mastery. Next, delight. What happens when we delight others? How can we do this more? Why should we do it more? Lastly, how should we deal with anxiety? Anxiety is an extreme emotion. Extreme emotions can be challenging. How can we remain calm? Or mitigate them? It's not easy, but there are tools for us to come back to.
Ep. 023 - Hugh and Tikh talk about the importance of immersion in relation to mastery. The great pyschologist Abraham Maslow talked about how if your only tool was a hammer, you could only work with nails. From Tim Ferriss' recent podcast with Adam Robinson, Adam shared an insight that reminded Hugh and Tikh about the importance of mastery. Second, how much does our environment influence our actions? A lot, obviously. As we look to find mastery in our lives, what can we do to improve our environments to encourage our growth? Lastly, a lesson from Robert Greene's book, "Mastery". Ep. 022 - Tikh and Hugh kick it off with how an individuals unique perspectives and philosophies stem from thinking pensively, which must be an intentional act - because at the end of the day, if we have all of this intake of information and experiences, how do we bake them to become something meaningful and unique? The people who do this, usually have answers for a lot of important introspective questions. The second topic, anger, was spoken about in relation to strength. Is anger a strength? It isn't.
