I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 7th of March, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to the Gospel of John 3:16 (AMP Version): “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Saviour] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” My dear friend, what a blessing, the whole Bible in one verse! I want to speak to you this morning about salvation. Another word for salvation is “a ticket to Heaven”, yes - being rescued from going to hell. Abundant life (John 10:10).Many years ago I went to bonny Scotland to go and have a look at where my ancestors came from. I, myself, am an African, born and bred in Central Africa, but I went to a little village called Buchan Haven, the name of my family, and in that little village there is a hall they called Rescue Hall, a little Christian church, Rescue Hall. What a beautiful name. Now that little village was full of fishermen, I have never seen so many Buchans in my life, a very quaint little village, but a lot of tragedy there from fishermen who go out into the North Sea, into the freezing cold, up to the Arctic Circle, looking for fish so that they can feed their families, pay their debts, educate their children and work hard - Buchan Haven. There is a statue of a woman, a mother with a little child hanging onto her skirts. She has got her hand up and she is looking out into the perilous North Sea to see if her husband, and the rest of the fishermen, are coming home on the fishing boats. I want to tell you today, maybe you need to be rescued from the perilous seas of this life in which we are living. If you are, then look to the Lord. Look to the Lord and He will save you, like He continually saved those brave fishermen and those brave women who prayed for their men to come home. Rescue Hall is a place I preached in and many people have been saved in that wonderful place.Today, look to the Lord and let Him save you from the perilous seas of life.Jesus bless you and goodbye.
We have come to the end of The Apostles' Creed – and what a wonder that these are the truths we believe, these are the truths that shape us, these are the truths that reveal the nature of God in His word! The work of Jesus has given us a certain and true hope: our sins are forgiven. And sin itself will be removed and destroyed – there will be a day of great renewal, and this has been shown in Jesus: we will all be raised, given new bodies fit for dwelling with God! That will be a one-off moment, but its impact will be felt for eternity! God – the Father, Son and Spirit – have worked in faithfulness to bring before God a people of His own, to live with Him forever. God is so good! A great summary is in John 3:16: ‘For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.'

I love that our country devoted a “national holiday” to give thanks to GOD for HIS blessings on us. I pray that on the day of “Giving Thanks”, you were able to take a few moments to reflect on the goodness of GOD in your life and thank HIM for all that HE has done! If for nothing else, I pray you thanked HIM for sending HIS One and only SON, through whom we might have Eternal Life. If you didn't, each of the next 27 days, between now and Christmas, will be an opportunity to do just that. As a church we'll begin that journey through this season of ADVENT! This Sunday, the first Sunday of ADVENT, we will begin that journey, by looking at HOW TO PLAN TO HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS! Why don't you make plans now to join us as we begin our celebration of the first coming of JESUS, and eagerly await the imminent return of our Eminent Savior & Lord? Pastor Joe Still
SHOW NOTES Well, Hey Framily! Welcome to Coffee & Kathy, this is Stef from the Grief 2 Great Day Podcast. You are listening to our weekly devotional episode. Grief is the hardest thing you'll ever face, don't ever let anyone diminish that – but let's also not diminish the power of God's Word and the transformational healing He will do in your life. I am a living testimony of going from pitiful (heartbroken, years of tears, angry at God & the world, overwhelmed and confused) to powerful (at peace, joyful and strong in my trust, hope and faith in God). You are not alone and your today does not have to be your forever! Oh, I'm so glad you're here today! What you need to do now is be still and just listen. Memorable Quote: But then there is the God of the Bible. The One Who has revealed Himself in the pages of Scripture. The God Who IS – not the One I think He is. Or even the One I want Him to be. God the Father, seated on His throne. Sovereign over all things. With ultimate control of every circumstance. ALL powerful. ALL knowing. Completely pure. Holy. Perfect in all His ways. The One who “…who changes the times and the seasons” and “…removes kings and establishes kings.” (Daniel 2:21) The One who makes “the king's heart like channels of water” in His hand, turning it “whichever way He wishes.” (Proverbs 21:1, AMP) The One Who “delights in every detail of our lives”. (Psalm 37:23, NLT) The One Who “daily carries us in His arms” (Psalm 68:19, NLT) The One Who showed us His holiness in the giving of the Law, knowing we would break it. And then also gave us His One and Only Son as the substitute for our punishment, knowing He did not want to live without us. And that is just the beginning of Who the Bible says He is. My dear brothers and sisters, we just recently talked about “Where was God on October 7, 2023, and where was God during the Holocaust?”. I talked with you about the need for salvation which leads to eternal life. I pleaded with you not to follow those people who say, “I can't believe in Yeshua (Jesus). Jewish people don't believe in Jesus”. So, let me ask those of you who still believe that, a question: “Do you believe in Moses?”. A great many Jewish people believe in Moses. Listen to what God said through His prophet Moses:““Now when all these things come upon you—the blessing and the curse that I have set before you—and you take them to heart in all the nations where Adonai your God has banished you, and you return to Adonai your God and listen to His voice according to all that I am commanding you today—you and your children—with all your heart and with all your soul, then Adonai your God will bring you back from captivity and have compassion on you, and He will return and gather you from all the peoples where Adonai your God has scattered you. Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the heavens, from there Adonai your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. Adonai your God will bring you into the land that your fathers possessed, and you will possess it; and He will do you good and multiply you more than your fathers. Also Adonai your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants—to love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live. “Adonai your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. Then you—you will return and listen to the voice of Adonai and do all His mitzvot that I am commanding you today. Adonai your God will make you prosper in all the work of your hand—in the fruit of your womb, and the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your soil—for good. For Adonai will again rejoice over you for good, as He rejoiced over your fathers— when you listen to the voice of Adonai your God, to keep His mitzvot and His statutes that are written in this scroll of the Torah, when you turn to Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 30:1-10, TLV)Now what does Moses mean when he says “Now when all these things come upon you?”. What things?Brothers and sisters, Moses is talking about what he said two chapters earlier, in Deuteronomy 28. In that long chapter there are 14 verses outlining the blessings that will come from obeying God's Law and 54 verses outlining the curses that will come from not obeying God's Law. Remember God's Law? The 613 positive and negative commandments? Many of the curses in Deuteronomy chapter 28 describe very well what happened in the Holocaust and what happened on October 7. 54 verses of curses, my friends. That's almost four times as many verses listing curses as there are verses listing blessings. Disobedience is a serious thing to God. I urge you to read Deuteronomy chapter 28, my friends. And remember who wrote it: Moses. Deuteronomy 28 has not expired. There is no statute of limitations on it. Now, some of you will think that that is not fair. Please remember. Deuteronomy is Torah. It's God's word, spoken through Moses. Is God unfair? A liberal judge in America or Israel today might think so. But, folks, God is not unfair. Don't ever think that for one second!! And God is sovereign. We can't negotiate with Him!So, how can a God who loves His Chosen People curse them so harshly? After all, how can the Jewish people be expected to obey God's Law? It's just too difficult. Just look at the ten commandments. Do you know anyone who has never lied? Do you know anyone who has never coveted anything? How can anyone obey all these rules, 613 of them? My friends, there is a way that God's chosen people can obey His Law. God has made the way. Please be someone who has ears to hear! Listen to Moses again:Also Adonai your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants—to love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live. “Adonai your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. Then you—you will return and listen to the voice of Adonai and do all His mitzvot that I am commanding you today. (Deuteronomy 30:6-8)God will circumcise the hearts of His people so that they can love Him with all their heart and with all their soul and do all His mitzvot, meaning follow all His laws. Only God can do that and He will. It is a free gift to us from Him. We cannot earn it. We could never pay the price for all the sins we've committed. Remember: the wages of sin is death and God's perfect justice requires payment – punishment – for every single sin. Now if salvation is a free gift to us from God, who pays the price? Someone has to pay it. The Torah tells us that our sins must be atoned for - a blood sacrifice is required. Remember the animal sacrifices that were made during the Old Testament dispensation? There were literally hundreds of thousands of them, maybe even millions. Obviously, those sacrifices did not bring permanent salvation or they would not have needed to be repeated again and again. But 2,000 years ago God's own Son, our Messiah, paid for all sins ever committed – past, present, and future - on the cross. He paid the price once and forever with blood of infinite value, His own blood. Did you know that His name, Yeshua, Jesus, means salvation? Well, if all this is true, you ask, why did the Holocaust and the October 7, 2023 massacre in Israel, happen? Why did Satan perpetrate these horrific crimes? After all, Satan can only go as far as God allows him to, right? Didn't the book of Job make that clear?“Adonai said to the satan, “Very well, he is in your hand—only spare his life!” So the satan departed from the presence of Adonai, and afflicted Job with painful boils, from the sole of his foot to the top of his head.” (Job 2:6-7, TLV)Brothers and sisters, God allowed these things to happen because the Chosen People, as a nation, have never stopped rejecting God. God can't let that go! My friend, you as an individual can't decide that the whole Jewish nation will accept God. But you can decide for yourself. The LORD said to us through the prophet Isaiah centuries ago:““Come now, let us reason together,” says Adonai. “Though your sins be like scarlet, they will be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they will become like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18, TLV)God loves you. God has made a way for you. He sent His One and Only Son to pay the price that you and I owe so that our sins will be as white as snow. Don't reject this. Don't turn this gift down. The price of doing so is eternal death. So what do you do now, today? Accept the free gift of salvation paid for by the Jewish Messiah, the Son of God, Jesus. Call upon His name and ask Him to save you. Thank Him for paying the price for your sins by shedding His blood and dying on the cross. You will then have eternal life. And then you will know that soon all Israel will follow you. Don't wait. The hour is late. Ask Jesus to save you today.May God bless you, my friends. This is a public episode. Pastor Jeff is teaching us that Jesus is teh Only Way to Heaven, and he remind us that God stills speaks to us today and tell us that Jesus is HIs One and Only Son. And He does that by the power of His Holy Spirit. Matthew 16:16-17 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
“Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” — Romans 12:10 “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” — 1 John 4:10-12 1. Love Defined. “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” — 1 John 4:10 “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23 “For God so loved the world that He sent His One and Only Son…” — John 3:16 “…the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 Love is defined by the cross of Christ. 2. Love's Design. “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” — 1 John 4:11 What does the love of Jesus look like? (*Adopted from a list by Paul Tripp.) 1. The love of Jesus is a committed love. 2. The love of Jesus comes from a willing heart. 3. The love of Jesus is deeply forgiving. “We don't love the way Jesus called us to love because we aren't willing to forgive the way Jesus has forgiven. And so, we carry thoughts of condemnation; we rehearse people's failures in our heads; we keep record of wrongs. In moments of gossip, we share the sin and failure of someone with somebody else. Listen! It's very hard to move lovingly towards someone you are, at that moment, condemning.” – Paul Tripp 4. The love of Jesus is unrelenting. 5. The love of Jesus is incarnational. “No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” — 1 John 4:12
Malachi 1:1-14; Genesis 25:23 and Romans 12:1 In Malachi chapter 1, God questioned the Israelites' sacrifices brought to the temple. He wanted to show them His faithfulness and love as His chosen nation. God wants us to bring the very best offering to Him, not what's leftover. At this present time, we don't bring sacrifices to a temple, but we bring tithe, offering, and our services to the church. We aren't to bring our last penny or our last amount of energy, but our best. Also, this sacrifice needs to bring honor to God, not for others to see, but as a service that would glorify Him, not ourselves. Remember, the joy and fulfillment that comes from offering our best to God is immeasurable. The sacrifice we bring to God is the sacrifice that ought to costs us the most, for He is our heavenly Father who gave His One and Only Son to die for us as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. I encourage you to do your best at work and while serving at church, and to bring the best offering when it's time to collect an offering for Him.
This week, Brandon McCauley shared with us on the words "His One and Only Son" from John 3:16. The old testament law was only meant to cover our sin, not atone for them. That is why we needed the Messiah, Jesus Christ! “The biggest enemy of learning is knowing” John 3:16 is a verse we may all know, but what if there's way more here for us to learn and obey? Join us for God So Loved, a series through the twenty-four words of John 3:16 to discover the full meaning behind one of the most well-known Bible verses of all time.
Today is a powerful day representing the most destructive act by mankind in all of our History - the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is hard to believe that Mankind could have ever been so cruel. But even more unbelievable is that as the crowds circled Jesus with Hate, He was at the same time Asking His Father to forgive them for just what they had done. Let us take this day, this time, to remember that "God so loved the world - that he freely gave His One and Only Son to forgive them and take away their Sins"." "Greater Love Hath No Man Than This!"
Please join Pastor Jeff in another great episode of our series - The Way to the Savior. Today's Scripture is a reminder that God proved His love by sending His One and Only Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. Romans 5:8 8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Day 11: God So LovedAlan shares from John 3:16 about the incredible love of God and how He gave His Son for our salvation."For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 AMP)
John closes out our series this morning with a final message helping us discover the right response to the what God has done in sending His One and Only Son, Jesus into the world for our salvation.
God loved the world. John 3:16-17 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. God loved the world of people, and His love was not merely sentimental. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Please be aware there are topics discussed in this episode that are not suitable for the developing minds (children). Listener discretion advised. Guys... it's been a WILD few months, to say the least. I never, I mean NEVER, thought I'd be making this episode. As someone with years of religious trauma and frustration with the western church, I actively left the faith with zero intention of coming back. I knew I had a real relationship with the 'divine' and deeply desired that connection but was done with organized religion. After deconstructing my beliefs about Christianity, my curiosity lead me into a life of seeking truth and enlightenment via other avenues. I dove headfirst into eastern beliefs, spirituality, new age practices, and the occult. I was addicted to marijuana, obsessed with tarot, began getting trained in reiki in order to incorporate it in my business when everything flipped upside down.. This is my story. I will never have enough words to thank God for what He did for me. He saved me from so much darkness and is transforming my heart. Glory to God, forever and ever. My life is Yours. “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16 AMP "But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;.. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!' and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth— everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Lead out those who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf. All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of their gods foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say, “It is true.” “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” Isaiah 43:1-13 Let's Connect! Today as we begin to our study and meditate on Psalm 76, we are now beginning our journey through the second half of the 150 Psalms. First let me say how thankful I am that you are on this journey with us on a daily basis. I always knew that as a pastor I really couldn't retire, and I wondered exactly what the Lord might have me doing during these “retirement” years. It was an awesome privilege and responsibility to be a senior pastor of three great churches over those 47 plus years of ministry. Now I have an “invisible” audience over the social media to you and many others that allows me to continue to do what God called me to do and that is to “Make Him Known”! The heartbeat of God is that the world of people, that He loved so much that He sent His One and Only Son to die for, would know Him, love Him, and live a life that glorifies Him! I have simply joined God as a “co-laborer” in His harvest fields over these years to accomplish His mission! Thanks for being a part of this ministry with me through this daily “Pastor's Chat”. Many Bible students believe that Psalm 76 is a continuation of Psalm 75. They go together hand in hand. Most commentators agree that Psalm 76 also belongs to the time when God overthrew Sennacherib's host before the gates of Jerusalem. There are some that think that the Psalm was possibly a Davidic Psalm originally, though it does not bear his name. It found its way into the choir collection, and later King Hezekiah used it to express the sentiments of his own day and age. Hezekiah's use of the Psalm so overshadowed David's that it is associated far more with the Jerusalem of Hezekiah's day than it is with the Jerusalem of David's day. Like the previous Psalm it is a hymn of praise. The Septuagint version of the Psalms contains the additional note: "A song with reference to the Assyrians." We see, then, that from earliest times that was the thought that leaped to devout minds when this psalm was sung. The background of this Psalm is probably God's judgment of the Assyrian army as recorded in Isaiah 37-38 and 2 Kings 18-19. Other "Zion" Psalms include Psalms 46, 48, 87, 126, 132, and 137. In Psalm 75:1, Asaph was thanking God for the miracle that delivered Judah and Israel from the Assyrians and described God's mighty works that revealed the greatness of His character and His power. But the emphasis in Psalm 76 is on the God who accomplished the victory and not on the miracle itself. Sennacherib's officers boasted of their king and his conquests, but their dead idols were no match for the true and living God (Psalm 115:1-18). In Psalm 76, Asaph shares four basic truths about Jehovah God that we will look at over the next several days. First, in verses 1-3, God wants us to know Him. In verse 1, Asaph named both Israel and Judah, for though the kingdoms had been divided politically, there was still only one covenant people in the sight of the Lord. When the northern kingdom of Israel was taken by the Assyrians in 722 B.C. many godly people moved into Judah where a descendant of David was on the throne and true priests ministered in God's appointed temple (2 Chron. 11:13-17; 15:9). God's name was great in Judah and Jerusalem (Psalms 47:1-2; 48:1, 10; 77:13), but it needed to be magnified among the neighboring nations, for that was Israel's calling (v. 11; Gen. 12:1-3). "Salvation is of the Jews" (John 4:22), and if we are to know the true and living God, we must read the Bible, a Jewish book, and trust the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who came through the Jewish nation and died for the sins of the world. The true and living God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 1:3; Eph. 1:3; 1 Peter 1:3). God's heart desire is that “We might know Him”, not just know about Him! Do you know Him today? God bless!

April 29: Saint Catherine of Siena, Virgin and Doctor 1347–1380 Memorial; Liturgical Color: White Patron Saint of Italy, Europe, and fire prevention Her frightening intensity prayed the popes back to Rome Saint Peter was not martyred in Frankfurt, Germany; Alexandria, Egypt; or Jerusalem. He could have been. God, in His Providence, wanted Saint Peter's blood to spill on Roman soil, so that His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church would drive its roots into the ground of the then capital of the world. This does not mean that Catholicism is bound to St. Peter's Basilica and Rome in the same way that Judaism was bound to the temple and Jerusalem. Rome does not have the same theological significance for Catholics as Jerusalem does for Jews, nor is Rome the successor of Jerusalem. Rome is not a holy city like Mecca is for the Muslims. The primacy of the Pope over the universal Church is based on his being the successor of Saint Peter. This is an indisputable historical fact. However, the Petrine ministry is one thing, and where it is exercised is another. The location of the Petrine ministry has never had the same theological weight as the ministry itself. Peter, yes. Always. Rome, yes. So far. Mostly. Today's saint was a Third Order Dominican, a mystic, a contemplative, and an ascetic who used secretaries to compose her letters, because she could not read or write until the last few years of her life. Yet for all of her interior distance from the world and its concerns, Saint Catherine of Siena threw herself at the feet of the Pope, then reigning in Avignon, and begged him to return to Rome. The “Babylonian Captivity” of the papacy in Avignon had gone on for almost seven decades and caused grave scandal. The move to Avignon was not due to an irreversible cultural shift such as a Muslim conquest or a decimating plague. The popes did not abandon Rome because it was a carcass. The transfer of the papal court to Avignon, a city within the Papal States, was the result of politics. It is not often that a single person can effect the course of history as much as a battle, a treaty, or a Council does. Incredibly, though, Saint Catherine of Siena's efforts to return the papacy to Rome were successful. She wrote so powerfully, spoke so passionately, and exuded such intense holiness that the Pope was overwhelmed. She also seemed to have prophetic powers, even knowing what the Pope was thinking or had previously thought. She was frighteningly intense and could not be ignored. Thus, sixty-seven years of seven French Popes ruling far from Rome ended. In 1376, Pope Gregory XI finally abandoned Avignon and followed in the footsteps of so many medievals—he went on pilgrimage to the tomb of St. Peter. And he stayed. The eternal city was a widow no longer. Saint Catherine was born the twenty-fourth of twenty-five children in a pious family imbued with the love of God. She eagerly drank in all that her parents poured out. She went for true “gold” early in life. She practiced extreme penances, eating only bread and raw vegetables and drinking only water for her entire adult life. She conversed with God, experienced ecstasies and visions, and dictated hundreds of letters, books and reflections filled with the most profound spiritual and theological insights. In 1970 she was the first layperson, and first woman, to be made a Doctor of the Church, in recognition of her profound mystical theology. Catherine died at the age of thirty-three, worn out by penances, travel, and the burden of her involvement in so many pressing ecclesial affairs. She was canonized in 1461. Her body lies under the main altar of the Dominican Church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome. Her mummified head is found in her native Siena. Saint Catherine of Siena, your love of God was expressed in so many vibrant ways and in a fervent love of His Church. We seek your powerful intercession from your exalted place in heaven to make all Catholics more ardent in their love of the Trinity, of the Passion, and of the Papacy.
If you appreciate this work, consider supporting it - https://www.patreon.com/seekgodtogether Today we will read John 3:16 again. We looked at this verse yesterday. But it's okay to meditate on a verse or idea for days on end. We are not the first. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” We focused yesterday on God. God is a lover. God loves You. God loves the world. Far from a distant, uninvolved, disinterested force, God is a passionate and intentional lover. And it is because of His love that He gives what the world actually needs - His One-of-a-kind, special Son. In all the pain and loss you've experienced, and the heartache those you love experience, you might be tempted to think that God is distant. But He's not. He's actually given everything He has to give. A creative universe, life itself, and His Son through Whom He is reconciling all things. Does this surprise you? Would you do it differently? You wouldn't be the first to question God. It would be easy to prefer that God went around putting bandaids on every hurt. Or every death. But He doesn't. Instead, God gave Himself. And what all happened in Jesus in His life, and on the cross is impossible to know. What we do know is that it is, and will ultimately be effective at bringing everything together under God in a good way. So where does that leave us then? This verse tells us - “…everyone who BELIEVES in Him…”. Believes? Yes. It's as simple as that. Hardly earth-shattering. Just the simple acknowledgement that God has it under control. God will work it out. This is why we worship. “God I don't get it. But I receive Your love. I receive Your Son. I receive You. I believe Jesus - that He is life everlasting and in Him You will fix everything - in Your way. In the meantime, in my unknowing, I choose to believe and to worship.”
We are not sure who wrote this Psalm but it is possible that it was written in the days of Hezekiah the King of Judah. The prophet Isaiah was prophesying judgment on the Northern Kingdom of Israel by the invading Assyrian army and it wasn't looking good for the Southern Kingdom of Judah as the Assyrians were threatening them also. The chapter begins with the psalmist remembering the stories of his father's generation, who told them how God had protected and blessed the nation in times past and gave them this wonderful Promise Land (vv.1-8). During that time the people could said, “In God we boast all day long and praise Your name forever” (v. 8). But in verses 9-16, it was obvious that God's presence was gone from the nation, and they were in an oppressed state. Now in verses 17-26, it appears that there must have been a faithful remnant in the land who had not forgotten the Lord and was making a plea for mercy! Hezekiah was a good king who “did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done” (2 Chronicles 29:2). The psalmist declares the “God knows the secrets of the heart” (v. 21). In other words, he is pleading with God on behalf of those who are genuinely, from the heart, living for the Lord and His glory. I am so thankful to know that even today in our country, there are those whose hearts are right with the Lord, and have become the intercessors in prayer for our nation and the lost world around us. It is amazing that Paul quoted verse 22 when he was reminding us that despite the fact we appear to be like sheep being lead to the slaughter, we can believe and know that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! Romans 8:35-39: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Yes, it might appear that God is asleep (v. 23) in our time of affliction, oppression, and distress! But my friend, we are assured that “He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber or sleep” (Psalm 121:4). We might feel like Job in the time of great suffering that can't be explained, but by faith we should still say like he did, “Though He slay me, yet I will trust Him” (Job 13:15). Despite how bad it might look for us, and around us, there is one thing we can and should always remember. On this Good Friday we remember the great love of God in giving His One and Only Son as a sacrifice for our sins! “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32). Don't forget God! He has not forgotten you! God bless!
Worship is… IN US His breath is our breath Then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being. -Genesis 2:7 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Hallelujah! -Psalms 150:6 God knows all of you and wants all of you Both the man and his wife were naked, yet felt no shame. -Genesis 2:25 This is the command — the statutes and ordinances — the Lord your God has instructed me to teach you, so that you may follow them in the land you are about to enter and possess. Do this so that you may fear the Lord your God all the days of your life by keeping all His statutes and commands I am giving you, your son, and your grandson, and so that you may have a long life. Listen, Israel, and be careful to follow them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly, because Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you a land flowing with milk and honey. “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. -Deuteronomy 6:1-9 FOR US Worship is Heaven I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking Him in His temple. -Psalm 27:4 “Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” -Ephesians 2:6-7 Eternity starts today “When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory.” -Ephesians 1:13-14 NOT US - HIM God did what we couldn't do “…There is no one who does good. God looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God. All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one.” -Psalms 53:1-3 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” -Romans 3:23 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.” -John 6:44 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water as a gift to the thirsty from the spring of life. -Revelation 21-6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly. For rarely will someone die for a just person — though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath. For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life! -Romans 6:10 “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned…” -John 3:16-18 His cross IS His crown “...Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage. Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death — even to death on a cross. For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow — of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth — and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”. -Philippians 2:5-11 THROUGH US Live out your faith “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift —” -Ephesians 2:8 “Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 Come boldly “Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time.” Hebrews 4:16 Rejoice together “Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” -Romans 5:1-5 What does rejoicing look like? Fellowship, singing, dancing, praising. What happens when your team goes to the Super Bowl, what happens when they score a touchdown? Give all because He gave all
Ron Wallace talks about the hope of the apostolic church concerning Christ's second coming and being founded in the very teachings of Jesus. Jesus made it perfectly clear that He was indeed going to come again and deliver His believing ones out from this world and take them to a heavenly home. There are some who believe that Jesus taught two distinct comings; one for the rapture, and one for the battle of Armageddon. Such a distinction is found only in theological assumptions that have no clear Scriptural support, rather than in the plain and simple language of Christ's words. By comparing passages from the Old Testament, the words of Jesus, and the epistles, it can be shown that there is only ONE second coming. There are 6 specific times recorded in the gospels where Jesus mentions His second coming. (Mat. 10:23; 16:27-28; Mat. 24-25; John 14:1-3; 21:22). At these times Jesus used the word erchomai. which indeed means a coming or arrival (Mat. 10:23; 16:27-28; Mark 8:38). At these times He made no indication that there was more than one ARRIVAL. The second coming mentioned at Mat. 16:27 is the same second coming mentioned at Mat. 24:30. And the coming and gathering of Christ's elect at Mat. 24:30-40 is the same coming and gathering of believers mentioned at John 14:1-3 (paralambano). And we thus see the same event in view at both places. There is no reason to think that Jesus had anything in mind other than His ONE and only second coming to the earth which will initiate the events of the day of the Lord. At Matthew 24:3, the disciples ask the question, "what will be the sign of your coming. The Greek word for coming is parousia. It means arrival and subsequent PRESENCE, which involves an extended period of time. It should be obvious that Jesus had previously taught the disciples about His parousia, for the nature of the question indicates they are familiar with the term. So it seems to me that at those times when Jesus mentioned "the coming of the Son of man" the disciples understood that He was talking about His parousia - His presence. And in the mind of the disciples, there was only ONE parousia, which they designate as YOUR parousia in their question. When Jesus answered their question, He in fact called it THE parousia of the Son of Man (Mat. 24:27, 37, 39). And in His answer He EQUATES erchomai and parousia.(at Matthew 24:30 with vs. 27, 37, 39). The second coming is both an arrival (erchomai) and a period of time (parousia). After Jesus arrives He will then remain PRESENT in the vicinity of the earth to carry out God's day of the Lord agenda. In Peter's second letter he wrote about what he was taught. He EQUATES the "coming" (erchomai) of the Lord at Mat. 16:27-28 (17:1-8) with the word parousia. Matthew used the word erchomai: Mat. 16:27-28 "For the Son of Man is going to come (erchomai) in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every person according to his deeds. “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming (erchomai) in His kingdom.” and Peter used the word parousia: 2 Peter 1:16-18 "For we did not follow sophistical stories when we made known to you the power and coming (parousia) of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty." Peter knows of only ONE second coming. He mentioned it again at 2Pet. 3:4, in the complaint from the mockers, "where is the promise of His coming?" And then he directly related that ONE second coming to the term, "day of the Lord" and "day of God" at verses 3:10-14. He clearly indicated that it is that ONE and ONLY second coming that we believers should be looking for and be READY for. Verse 14, "Therefore beloved brethren, since you are looking for these things, be diligent to be found in Him in the sphere of peace, spotless and blameless." When Paul wrote about the second coming of Jesus, he used the word,

What happens when we stop praising God and giving Him gratitude? Things start going wrong. Things move from bad to worse and we can even end up in a place where God says to us, "I'm going to let you go your own way."One of the hardest things that we can experience in life is receiving the natural consequences of our bad decisions. God doesn't give up on us. But He gives us over to do what we want to do and then we reap the results. It's almost as if we're driving toward a cliff with our foot smashed into the gas peddle. But is this what God truly wants for us? Today is the first Sunday in Advent, a day we HOPE for the future with eyes on the past. Preparing for Christmas by remembering past Christmases, old decorations, traditions, and songs. God prepares people for the birth of His One and only Son by sending John the prophet to prepare the way. Christmas is the ultimate expression of love. For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son…(John 3:16) Christmas is Emmanuel, God with us. Therefore, the Language of Christmas is love. There are five different ways we give and receive love. One of them is physical touch. Jesus touched people, and, as Christ-followers, we are called to touch others, in a healthy way. Maybe you didn't grow up in a home that expressed love this way, but this Christmas can be different. This season, first commit your life to Jesus and feel His touch and love in your heart. Then, commit to love others in a way they will understand and receive. Let's grow in our love.

Life isn't easy. We all know that. And to be honest with you, praise doesn't always come out naturally when it feels like everything in your life is working against you and the wheels are coming off your bus. However, I've heard it said that the greatest gift you can give the Lord, others, and yourself is that of thanksgiving. Why? Because when we focus on gratitude, the tide of disappointment washes away and the tide of love rushes in. Joining us on the podcast today to share a little about his testimony and how the act of gratitude has transformed his life is Coach Adam Donyes. Adam is a man who has impacted countless lives as he serves in many different roles including: the K-Equip Director at K-2 (Kanakuk Kamps) and also directing Kanakuk's Worldview Kamp; serving on the teaching team at Woodland Hills Family Church; Founder and President of Link Academy in Branson, MO which exists to provide students with a year of purpose for a lifetime of pursuit as their goal is to empower future leaders to impact the world for Christ; and so much more! What I love about Adam is his humility and the grateful heart that he possesses. He truly has a hunger and desire to know God and to make God's name known! Our prayer is that after listening to today's episode you would leave feeling more equipped and encouraged to live a life of gratitude and develop a grateful heart no matter your circumstance. Remember, even if God doesn't do anything else, because of what He did by sending His One and Only Son to die, be buried, and rise again 3 days later for you and me, He has already done enough!

You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her," He died for you- John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son to save us, whoever believes in Him will live forever." Redeemed- Isaiah 43:1- "But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine." Child of God- John 1:12- "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God," Holy Spirit lives in you- Romans 6:16-27 "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." His smile is on you- Numbers 6:24-26 "May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you his peace." Beloved- Colossians 3:12- "Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience," --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jorja-gust/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jorja-gust/support
Herod sought to kill Jesus. Anything or anyone who tries to separate souls from grace and the truth of Jesus Christ and His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church is a modern-day Herod. We need to fight against them. But we also need a Protector. And we have one...
Edifying, Enriching & Transforming Lives with Pastor Paul Morgan
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world, that He even gave His One and only begotten son...Join Pastor Paul and the Chosen Generation Ministries Family as we reflect on and celebrate what motivated Christ to do all that He did to provide for our salvation.
What's so "good" about Good Friday? God loves us so much He sent His One and only Son to be our Savior. Tonight we celebrate Good Friday by remembering our Savior's suffering and death for us. In this most somber service of the year we take time to mourn and confess our sin. As our response to hearing the message from Luke we will take time to nail our sins to the cross. If you're joining our online campus, I encourage you to get a piece of paper and join us whenever you are watching. Jesus died so we can be forgiven of all our sins. You are forgiven by grace through faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. Recorded live at Word of Life Church in Le Sueur, Minnesota on April 15th, 2022, Pastor Jason preaching.
Thank you for listening. Check out more at www.seekGodtogether.com Today we will read John 3:16 again. In the meantime, in my unknowing, I choose to believe and to worship.” --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
SHOW NOTES: The angel of the Lord, Gabriel, was sent to deliver several important messages in preparation for the arrival of Baby Jesus in Bethlehem. Zacharias, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds saw the angel of the Lord and he spoke these words, “Do not be afraid.” God the Father was laying the groundwork for the entrance of His One and Only Son to the earth. The fanfare for His birth would include a multitude of the heavenly hosts proclaiming, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Each of these is an announcement of God's plan for salvation unfolding.
