This special mid week episode of So There I Was takes a slight detour from our usual lineup of aviators and aircrew—but it's still all about aviation at heart. Our guest, Mark, from Long Island Watch Co., joined us to share the story behind a limited-run Harrier commemorative watch designed in collaboration with the folks at Patuxent River Naval Air Station (PAX River). PAX, the Navy's legendary flight test center, was the perfect place for the Harrier community to dream up a way to honor their jet as it heads into retirement. Mark walked us through the design cycle, the hoops of Boeing approvals, and the cool details built into the watch. And yes—Mark is a pilot himself, with a story about learning to fly in some of the busiest airspace around. Aviation, watches, and Harriers—you'll find it all here. Ever wonder when the timing is going to be just right? Ever realize the timing is right when you choose to just do the damned thing? If the action is always put off until tomorrow, what happens when tomorrow doesn't come? You should take the opportunity to execute on as many things that are meaningful and important to you as often as you possibly can. You need to use your time efficiently to make the moments that matter the most count, just like the seconds continue to count.Start taking those steps today to do what you promised yourself, your kids, your family, your friends. Make your words mean something by committing to what you said you wanted to do. Have fun with the kids while their imagination is still capable of infinite wonder. You can do and be anyone within reason. A day will come when your dreams are unobtainable, so seize today before the time flies away. Possibilities degrade with time, so stop wasting your numbered minutes, days, years, and do it while you still can!Put your shoes on and run! You never get better or stronger if you never even begin. So much talent and skill goes to waste because we allow ourselves to make excuses that make us lazy. Remember all the opportunities you still have available to you as long as you allow yourself to see them and take them! Time ticks on ruthlessly without any regard to people. Don't let it all pass you by and leave you bitter with nothing but regret of what "you could do". YOU CAN DO. NOW!!!

In this Week 33 edition of the GMS Weekly Podcast, we cover the latest developments in the global ship recycling markets, with detailed updates for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Turkey. This week's theme - Time Flies - highlights slowing supply, uncertain pricing, and shifting regional dynamics. Global Overview: Trump–Putin meeting in Alaska keeps oil markets on edge. Oil slipped 2% to USD 62.80/barrel. Baltic Dry Index rose 0.25%, now over 7% higher year-to-date. Vessel supply remains thin; tonnage inflows likened to a “band-aid” for a long-term shortage. Focus shifts to HKC compliance and facility upgrades amid ongoing regulatory challenges. Bangladesh: Market stuck in a summer slumper. Five vessels totaling 52,000 LDT arrived, including a 21,000-ton bulker. Steel plate prices collapsed USD 9/Ton to USD 540 as mills import cheaper feedstock. Taka stabilized at 121.35 with central bank support. Inflation rising again, elections not until February 2026. Market remains weak for smaller units. India: Sanction Caution as authorities arrested sanctioned vessels arriving at Alang. Despite this, India remains the most stable and HKC-compliant destination, attracting blue-chip owners. Over 81,000 LDT at anchorage this week, including another cape and a tanker. Rupee firmed slightly to 87.53. Inflation eased to 1.55%, and S&P upgraded India's credit rating to ‘BBB' - boosting confidence. Pakistan: DASR Dominates - provisional certificates keep Gadani active. Four ships totaling 16,000 LDT arrived, including a woodchip carrier. Steel plate prices surged to nearly USD 622/ton, the highest in the region. Rupee eased to 283.55. Pakistan now the best-priced market, especially for dry bulk units and mid-sized vessels. Turkey: Lira slipped again to 40.90 against the U.S. dollar. Inflation fell sharply to 33.5% from 61.8% last year, but Aliaga's yards remain quiet with no new arrivals. The GMS Weekly remains the definitive source for ship demolition pricing, steel plate trends, HKC compliance updates, and port-by-port activity across the Indian subcontinent.

This week on the Pod Rossko, Josh and Miles have been talking Bioshock 4, with the news that the game has been restarted so it'll be a long while until we see anything from it. Sadness. Still! Nintendo have upped the price of the original Switch in America so...hooray? One hundred dollar Joy-Cons? In Game of the Week Miles talks the disappointment of Spy Drops and the not quite as disappointing Endzone 2, Josh has been playing Time Flies and shares what it's like to be a fly before you die. Joys. The sight left unseen is an opportunity for a missed creation of beauty and inspiration. Celebrating what is created around and through us is an unmeasurable talent without a ceiling. If you ever had the honor of reading her poetry in Hush: Breaking the Chains of Abuse (2024), Love & Longing an international anthology of poems (2023), and Cadence (2024) with her words, she comforts, loves, and inspires celebration in all that you are and have accomplished to create a new beginning. As inspiration comes through life experiences, poetry expresses those feelings with thoughtful displays of emotion. Each poetic expression ranges from nature and fun to empowerment and triumphant victory. Her words rejuvenate your spirit while opening your eyes to the openness of joy in daily life.Under the surface of each poem is a place of captivation; be mindful of “Irony of a Storm,” “Structure of Love,” “Resilience of a Bird,” “Hide and Seek,” “R.O.A.R.,” “Family Fun,” “Time Flies,” “Time Square,” “Sandstorm,” “Hope,” “I am in Love,” “Eclipsed Love,” “Quietness of a Prairie.”This is more than just a book but a reference point of education in all seasons. Once you read it front to back, it serves as a place of motivation, restoration, and celebration of your journey. From an educator of literacy, have fun, be inspired, and see the possibilities.Yasmin is purposefully intentional with her words to spark emotion to act toward a bright future. You do not want to miss the authentic rhythm of this unapologetic beacon as it shines with guidance, encouragement, cheer, and goodwill.https://www.prolificpulse.com/yasminbrown

It's the end of May, can you believe it? How many of you have said that to someone recently?! I can't tell you how many times I've heard, “How is it Memorial Day weekend already? Summer? What?!” “Life goes faster the older you get,” I also hear all the time. Or, “Life is like a roll of toilet paper…the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes!” In this episode I share some theories from experts as to why it feels like time goes by so fast, and how to slow it down…including a theory of my own. If you'd like to feel that time wasn't going by quite so quickly, you need to listen to this episode! See you there….

Mark Adamczyk emailed from Akron, Ohio: "Mark, Just wanted to reach out to you about the Irish and Celtic Music Podcast. I found you on Sirius XM last year (March 2024) while recovering from back surgery (herniated a disc last February. 220 V down the left leg - that was a TON of fun!!) Hearing you mention recovering from hip replacement surgery the other week made me feel a certain kinship with you around the podcast. About 3 weeks after surgery, my wife and I received an invitation to travel to Ireland with our kid's high school band for them to play in the Dublin St Patrick's Day parade. (Our kids have graduated but I still cover the sports as team physician!) Having made enough of a recovery to do the walking needed, we made the trip and had an absolute BLAST touring Southern Ireland (Dublin, Kilkenny, Blarney, Killarney [my favorite!!], Ring of Kerry, Cliffs of Mohr). When I got back to the States, I started looking around for ways to listen to Celtic music as we thoroughly enjoyed listening to it while on vacation. I then found your podcast and have been listening somewhat regularly since. (Summertime tends toward country music for me. But when the weather gets colder, especially after the holidays, I find myself looking for you again! I also catch up a bit sitting outside on a weekend morning on our back patio at other times when I get the chance!) We also got a new dog soon after coming home and named him Guinness in honor of the trip! (We also thought he reminded us a bit of a pint of the brew with his white accents! Check out his collar!) When I take him on his daily walks, you are a regular on our playlist! Me walking my Irish dog and listening to the I&CMP while recovering from back surgery - beautiful!!! Thanks for helping with my recovery! Hope you are doing well with yours and look forward to continuing to listen more over time. I attached a few pics for you too - some from Ireland in places which I'm sure you will recognize and one of Guinness and I on our latest walk today!! Slainte!!!”
SEQUENCES PODCAST no 268 Over the past month, we've been quite busy organising household storage following our return from Australia and assisting our daughter in relocating to a temporary rental while searching together for a permanent home. We encountered disappointment with one property we were close to purchasing due to serious issues discovered during the survey. Given the chaos, we had a limited time to compile a significant music collection for this month, adding more titles already scheduled for May. Thus, we opted to release two distinct editions of the electronic music genre together again. In this first edition, we present uptempo tracks, sequential compositions, symphonic pieces and more, highlighting the diverse aspects of these styles.
