The only way to be saved is through receiving Jesus Christ! As you listen to today's message from Pastor Dion, he shares with you the important truth that you can't save anyone in your own power from hell. However, you can share your testimony of what God's done in your life with others. Pastor Dion explains that it's the work of the Lord to open hearts. Your job is to share His Good News with as many people as you possibly can while here on Earth. God doesn't want any to perish but for all to be saved in Jesus!
“For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.” (1 Peter 2:21 NLT) I heard a story of a man who was trying to start his own religion, without much success. He went to a wise friend and said, “I’m trying to start my own religion, but no one is joining. What do you think I ought to do?” His friend replied, “Why don’t you go get yourself crucified and rise again on the third day. I am sure you will have a lot of followers.” Jesus’ followers were certainly energized and emboldened after His crucifixion and resurrection. But they had been prepared for their mission long before then. For Jesus’ followers, His public ministry was a three-year training course. During their time together, Jesus gave them—and all who follow Him—a method for ministering to others. In Matthew 5 alone, He said, “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad!” (verses 11–12 NLT). “If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also” (verse 39 NLT). “If you are sued in court and your shirt is taken from you, give your coat, too” (verse 40 NLT). “If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles” (verse 41 NLT). “Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!” (verse 44 NLT). In other words, march to the beat of a different drummer. Boldly set yourself apart from the world, no matter what the cost. Let people see the difference the Lord has made in your life. Jesus gave His followers a mission for ministering to others. Before He ascended to Heaven, He gave His followers marching orders: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19–20 NLT). The news of Jesus’ life, teachings, sacrificial death, and triumphant resurrection—of the salvation and eternal life He made possible—is too good to keep to ourselves. He wants us to share it with others in ways that resonate with them. That’s our challenge—and our privilege. Jesus gave His followers a model for ministering to others. He asks nothing of us that He didn’t do Himself. The apostle Peter emphasized the importance of following Jesus’ example in the passage above. The apostle Paul wrote, “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross” (Philippians 2:5–8 NLT). Humility is the key. One of the last things Jesus did before He was arrested was wash His disciples’ feet. In the culture of the first century AD, this was a job reserved for the lowliest of servants. Jesus wanted His followers to know that when it comes to God’s work, we are servants. Pride and arrogance are obstacles that keep us from fulfilling His plan for us. Jesus’ disciples learned these lessons well, although it doesn’t always appear that way in Scripture. Following Jesus’ example, they took His Good News to the ends of the earth. We may not cover nearly as much distance as they did, but we, too, are equipped to share the Good News of Jesus with others. Jesus set the example for lovingly ministering to the people around us. He showed us what servanthood looks like. Reflection question: What method for ministering to others will you focus on this week? Some 16 million people saw Christopher Jones' skydive on YouTube. He bails out of the plane. Everything's going great...until the seizure. After four years of being seizure-free, he was cleared to jump. But at 9,000 feet, Christopher suddenly rolled onto his back, unconscious. Plunging earthward at 120 miles an hour! Thank God, his instructor Sheldon McFarlane responded immediately. But as Christopher convulsed, he was falling farther out of reach. Finally, McFarlane got close enough to reach his unconscious student; just 4,000 feet from looming disaster below. He pulled his student's ripcord, the chute opened, and in Christopher's words, "He saved my life." I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "When Someone You Know is Falling Fast." It was a heart-stopper for sure, and for me it was a solemn reminder. On almost any given week there is someone in my personal world - and probably in yours - who is falling fast, spinning out of control and in need of a rescue. And you're the one who's in a position to catch them if you notice them. Maybe it's a disturbing post on Facebook, a sudden withdrawing from people, just a troubled countenance, mood swings, some angry outburst. In one form or another, what you're seeing and hearing is a cry for help. The question is, "Is my radar on for a hurting person, for a wounded person, an excluded person, maybe a lonely person, the person with the breaking heart or the broken heart?" Or am I all wrapped up in my list, my schedule, and my troubles, too self-absorbed to notice someone who's falling within my reach? But noticing isn't enough. Next comes dropping everything to help them, because nothing's more urgent than rescuing the guy who's going down. Centuries ago, God appeared to an outback shepherd in a burning bush - Moses. You may have heard of him. And God told Moses, in our word for today from the Word of God, Exodus 3, beginning in verse 7: "I have seen the misery of My people in Egypt (where they of course were oppressed slaves)...I have heard them crying out...I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them." Good! Now the shocker for Moses in verse 10, "So now, go. I am sending you" (Exodus 3:7-10). That might be a conversation God's wanting to have with you - probably minus the burning bush. Because He has heard the cries, even the silent cries of the people around you. And He has a plan to rescue them - you. It is for rescue that God came to earth; to die on a cross to rescue us from the awful eternal death penalty of our sins, to walk out of His grave to offer us a forever with Him. And He rescues us to then be a rescuer; to tell people His Good News about belonging to Him, to be His voice, to be His face, to be His hands. He wants you to deliver His message. He wants you to be the one who lifts their burden in His name. He wants you to be the one who shows them what He's like. He wants you to be the one who tells them how to be with Him forever by having their sins forgiven at Jesus' cross. How are you doing? Because that's why you are where you are. God put you there to rescue some folks. Maybe you've never experienced the rescuing power of Jesus and you're falling fast. He has come to swoop down and grab you today. Would you grab that hand, that nail scarred hand and say, "Jesus, I'm yours." Begin to belong to Him today. Be safe forever. You can find out more about how to be long to Him if you just go to our website. It's ANewStory.com. If you've been rescued by Jesus, then you've got to dive in for the rescue of others. It's not optional. Not when someone's falling fast. No, It's life-or-death.
Today we're diving into an exciting and powerful message called SENT, based on Luke 6:12-16. Jesus intentionally called and sent His disciples—and He is still sending people today to share His Good News with the world!

“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near. Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door! For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy.” (James 5:7–11 NLT) Being patient is a lost art. Once upon a time, we used to get music on something called an album. We would wait for the album to arrive in our favorite record store. When we got it home, we would lay it on what was called a turntable. We would put a needle into the grooves of the album and listen to it while we pored over the lyrics that were printed inside the album cover. Getting and listening to music was an experience that required some patience. Then new technology came along in the form of the eight-track machine. You could have one in your car and listen to music on the go. Next came cassette players and then compact disc players. Listening to music became more convenient and required less patience. Today you can just download everything and get it immediately. You don’t even have to get a whole album. You can get just the song you actually like. And that’s the way most things work today. If you want to get something, you don’t have to go to the store and search for it. You can use Amazon Prime and get same-day delivery. You don’t have to go out to get your food; you just call Uber Eats. Everything comes quickly. So when we read James’ instruction to “be patient,” it’s almost an alien concept. But it’s the way God wants us to approach the reality of Jesus’ return. That can be a challenge sometimes. Living in this world as believers can be difficult. We get tired and frustrated as we see our culture trending in ways that defy God’s will. So we look to the Lord’s return with anticipation, because it means our work here will be done and our eternal reward will begin. James encourages us to maintain our eager anticipation—like a farmer eagerly anticipates rain or a kid eagerly anticipates Christmas morning. But more importantly, he encourages us to remember that God’s timetable is perfect. The longer Christ’s return is delayed, the more opportunities unbelievers will have to hear His Good News and give their lives to Him. That’s good news for us, too, especially if we have family members or other loved ones who haven’t yet accepted Christ as Savior. Our patient work in their lives must continue while we eagerly anticipate the Lord’s return. — Listen to the Greg Laurie Podcast Become a Harvest PartnerSupport the show: https://harvest.org/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“Then Jesus told her, ‘I am the Messiah!’” (John 4:26 NLT) As word of Jesus’ miracle-working powers spread, more and more people flocked to see Him. And when they heard His message, they asked to be baptized. Before long, Jesus’ disciples were baptizing more people than even John the Baptist himself. That level of popularity attracted the attention of the Jewish religious leaders. They started to feel threatened by Jesus’ increasing influence. Instead of giving them a chance to scrutinize Him, Jesus returned to His home region of Galilee. And the route He took surely raised some eyebrows. The quickest route from Jerusalem to Galilee led through Samaria. However, most Jewish travelers preferred to take a longer detour to the east to avoid the region. That’s how much they hated Samaritans. Samaritans were of mixed ethnicity. Most Jewish people regarded them as half-breeds. Their religious practices combined Judaism with pagan elements, which caused their Jewish neighbors to hate them even more. Centuries of bad blood had created a deep animosity between Jews and Samaritans. Jesus took the path straight through Samaria. And He stopped at a well near the town of Sychar. While His disciples went into town to buy food, Jesus rested near the well. Around noon, a Samaritan woman approached the well to draw water. Jesus asked her for a drink. The woman was stunned because there were several invisible, but very real, social barriers between Jesus and her. One, Jews didn’t talk to Samaritans. Two, men didn’t talk to women privately. And three, few people talked to a woman with her reputation. She had been married five times and was living with a man who was not her husband. Yet Jesus refused to allow these artificial boundaries to prevent Him from making a personal connection and sharing His Good News. The woman pointed out that, like the Jews, the Samaritans were waiting for the Messiah, God’s chosen Redeemer. “I am the Messiah!” Jesus revealed. The takeaway here is obvious. Our culture urges us to focus on the differences that divide us. Conservative vs. liberal. Men vs. women. Young vs. old. Christian vs. non-Christian. Jesus urges us to focus on the things that unite us. The need for compassion, love, understanding, peace of mind, and assurance about our future. The desire to be known, to have a purpose, to find fulfillment and joy, and to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. The woman told other Samaritans about her encounter with Jesus, and they believed in Him too. So we see that when one person is willing to cross social barriers, the impact can be enormous. Word of Jesus’ coming arrived in Galilee before He did. The people there welcomed Him because they’d seen what He did in Jerusalem during the Passover celebration. In Cana, the site of His first public miracle, He got an urgent request from a government official whose son was on his deathbed. In this passage, we see why Jesus initially hesitated when His mother asked Him to intervene when the wine ran out at the wedding feast. Jesus recognized that the spectacle of His miracle-working would overshadow His message. That’s why He asked, “Will you never believe in me unless you see miraculous signs and wonders?” (verse 48 NLT). The key to Jesus’ encounter with the government official is that the man believed what Jesus said. In this case, his son was healed. Not every prayer is answered that way. Not everyone recovers from sickness. But everyone who believes what Jesus says will find grace, forgiveness, comfort, strength, direction, endurance, and wisdom. — Listen to the Greg Laurie Podcast Become a Harvest PartnerSupport the show: https://harvest.org/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today, we also begin a new chapter in Luke! What is interesting is that in this chapter we see the Lord preparing His disciples to carry out the task of taking the Gospel to all the nations after He has ascended into heaven. We also need preparation to continue to be a part of completing this task before our Lord comes again! We will notice several things in Luke 9 that should help us understand what is involved in our preparation to be on mission with Jesus to reach a lost world with His Good News of salvation! First, I want to remind you that the greatest joy and fulfillment in your life will not come from making a lot of money and having a nice house or car to drive to impress people you don't even know. It does not come from our earthly relationship, as important as they are, being married to a wonderful spouse, having children, and grandchildren one day. Or having a lot of friends and success (Read Solomon's testimony in Ecclesiastes). No, the greatest fulfillment in life will come when you have surrendered your life to do the will of God. Later in Luke 9:23-26 we read: “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels.” The greatest fulfillment in life takes place when you live to glorify the Father! Jesus tells us in John 15:7-8: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” You might want to read that again and think about it! Bearing fruit that comes from God's Word abiding in you, and you abiding in Christ, is what pleases God and most glorifies Him! This fruit will be evidenced by a Spirit filled life that radiates His love, His peace, His joy, His patience, His kindness, His goodness, His faithfulness, His gentleness, and His self-control (Galatians 5:22). And then we will experience the great joy of seeing others come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior as we share the message of His grace, mercy and love with the world around us! In Luke 9:1-6, Jesus sends out the Twelve. In Jesus first year of ministry in the region of Galilee, He had called the Twelve to be with Him. He took them on two tours of ministry during these first two years. Now He was going to send them out in pairs (Matthew 10; Mark 6:7) to have their own ministry and to put into practice what they had learned. This was their "solo flight." But before He sent them out, He gave them the equipment needed to get the job done, as well as the instructions to follow. Jesus “gave them power and authority…”. Power is the ability to accomplish a task, and authority is the right to do it, and Jesus gave both to His Apostles. They were able to cast out demons and heal the sick, but the most important ministry He gave them was that of preaching the Gospel. The word preach in Luke 9:6 describes a herald proclaiming a message from the king, and in Luke 9:6 it means "to preach the Good News." They were heralds of the Good News! Today, we are to be His disciples, called to complete this great task telling the world about Jesus. Are you willing to surrender, obey, and do your part? God bless!

After Zacharias gives his praise and prophesy about the Jesus the Messiah in verses 67-75, he turns his attention to his newborn son, John. I can imagine the excitement in the room as the family, friends and neighbors of Zacharias and Elizabeth are gathered around them and they are hearing Zacharias speak for the first time in nine months. A wonderful miracle has taken place with them having a child in their old age. Zacharias is proclaiming that the Messiah has come bringing hope and salvation to the people of Israel! But what about this newborn baby John. What is he going to do? What part does he have in the coming and revelation of the Messiah? It is as if Zacharias looks down on this beautiful baby in the arms of his wife and speaks directly to him. “And you child….”. Then he proceeds to tell him that he would be called “the prophet of the Highest”. This was prophesied centuries earlier by Isaiah to sinful nation telling them that one day they would find comfort in their coming Messiah. "Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God. "Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD'S hand Double for all her sins." The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God” (Isaiah 40:1-3; John 1:23). Four hundred years earlier the prophet Malachi also had proclaimed in the last book of the Old Testament: "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 3:1). John would become known as John the Baptizer preaching to the people down by the Jordan River (John 1). He prepared the way for the ministry of Jesus with this message of and baptism of repentance. When Jesus showed up at the Jordan River thirty years later to begin His three years of ministry, John saw Him coming and proclaimed, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). John went on to say: “And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God" (John 1:34). Zacharias went on to say that John would tell the people that Jesus would “Give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins” (v. 78). Remission means "to send away, to dismiss, as a debt." All of us are in debt to God because we have broken His law and failed to live up to His standards (Luke 7:40-50). Furthermore, all of us are spiritually bankrupt, unable to pay our debt. But Jesus came and paid the debt for us (Ps. 103:12; John 1:29). This all because of the “tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us” (vv. 78-79). It would be the dawning of a new day in the world. Dayspring means "sunrise." The people were sitting in darkness and death, and distress gripped them but when Jesus came He brought light, life, and peace. (Matt. 4:16). Instead of enjoying a comfortable life as a priest, John lived in the wilderness, disciplining himself physically and spiritually, waiting for the day when God would send him out to prepare Israel for the arrival of the Messiah. People like Simeon and Anna (Luke 2:25-38) had been waiting for this day for many years, and soon it would come. Today, God calls us to believe His Good News. Those who believe it experience His joy and want to express their praise to Him. It is not enough for us to say that Jesus is a Savior, or even the Savior. With Mary, we must say, "My spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior" (Luke 1:47). Like John, today we are also called to “prepare the way of the Lord”, by calling our family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who will listen, to repentance and salvation by sharing the “Good News of Jesus”! God bless!

Dear friends, today I need to ask for special prayer again. This morning Edith and I will be driving back up to Roanoke Virginia to be there for our little grandson Luke, and Kimberly and Chris. Luke is presently back in PICU at RMH because another infection has developed. This morning at 7:30 he is scheduled to go back in for emergency surgery. The neurosurgeons will be removing the shunts and all the tubing from the brain to the stomach that is draining the excess fluid from around the brain. They will replace that with temporary tubing that will continue to drain the fluid externally. He will be treated for the infection and after a week or so they will repeat the surgery to replace the shunts and all the tubing. We are so thankful for all your continued prayers now and over these many months. They mean everything to us! We will keep you updated, or you can click on the link at the bottom of this chat for more information from Kimberly's Facebook page. For the past several days we have been talking about genuine divine joy! A joy that you will never find in this world or in the things in this world. This morning especially, I am so glad that I can still experience joy despite the circumstances or situation we are presently experiencing. Mary and Elizabeth lived in very dark days and would face tremendous challenges in the lives of their special sons. Elizabeth's son, John the Baptist would have his life ended by being beheaded by King Herod. Mary would stand at the foot of an old rugged cross and watch her son, Jesus, be crucified in the most cruel, inhumane, sadistic, brutal way possible by the Roman soldiers. She would have to listen to the mocking of priest and people around the cross. Yet as we read and listen to Elizabeth's and Mary's rejoicing in these verses, we find the source of real genuine joy! Life might seem very unfair at times, and can be very hard and difficult, but by God's grace through His Son Jesus Christ we can still experience peace and joy if we only by faith believe! For the next several days we will be looking at the specific reasons that Mary was rejoicing with song in Luke 1:46-56. It is pleasant to think of Mary as a singer. Did ever mortal voice sing a sweeter song than this? Her joy was holy, deep, and divine! Mary experienced spiritual joy. She sang, "My spirit has rejoiced" (v. 47). The tidings of the grace of God, in the gift of His Son, filled her soul with joy and made her spirit sing. The Gospel of God, His Good News in Jesus Christ is intended to reach the very spirit of man, to touch and revive the innermost spring of His being. My friend the lip songs of the hypocrite and the sentimental songs of the world never penetrate to the needy spirit in man. Mary experienced joy in God. "My spirit hath rejoiced in God" (v. 47). God revealed Himself, and He was known to Mary in the gift of His Son, and so known and believed that her spirit rejoiced in God. It cannot be said of us that we know God if in our spirits we do not rejoice in Him. Paul put it this way in Romans 5:11, “And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.” The joy that is in God is pure and blameless. It is divine and eternal and never changes! I trust today that you will remember and meditate on God's love through Jesus Christ and experience a song of divine joy despite your circumstances! God bless!

When the word of God takes root in our lives, it transforms us into the likeness of Jesus, and it multiplies into the lives of others. One of the signs of our maturity in Christ is that His Word is multiplied in others, because the heart of Jesus is for more people to receive His Good News. God wants every person to hear about His Good News
When the word of God takes root in our lives, it transforms us into the likeness of Jesus, and it multiplies into the lives of others. One of the signs of our maturity in Christ is that His Word is multiplied in others, because the heart of Jesus is for more people to receive His Good News. As we magnify the Lord together, we believe He will mature us in our faith and use us to multiply His message, His ministry and His miracles throughout the world. One of the things that mark a healthy society is the consistency between generations. In other words, adults who care about the future for their children will invest the time to make sure tomorrow is bright. God the Father is the ultimate parent, and we would do well to model His love for us. Luke 18:1 says, “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Passing the torch, or training up the next generation, involves taking the time to do it properly. If you love your kids, you'll make time for them. You won't take the easy way out and settle for schools or the culture at large to raise them. Teach them—yourself—that we all experience tough times in this life, but sticking to God's plan for their lives is the key to winning. Living the abundant life Jesus taught about, and sharing His Good News is the ultimate win. But we don't get there by quitting when the going gets tough. Let's pray. Lord, you never leave us, and you never abandon the human community to evil. You are a great God, and we thank you for your commitment to us. In Jesus' name, amen.

Jesus has much to say to us about all of this! Come join us as we dive into His Good News about Friendship!

Our Gratitude episode this year addresses the reality of the moment that the people in Lebanon are in, while also acknowledging all that God has done in us and through us. In this episode Camille Melki, our CEO, reminds us that Lebanon hosts the highest population of refugees per capita in the world, and is ranked with the second worst economy in the world. It would be easy to ask, "is there anything to be grateful for?" But God has, and is, providing His peace in unexpected ways. He has opened doors that no one could have imagined to share His Good News in the country of Lebanon! God has a greater plan and we at Heart for Lebanon are grateful that you are choosing to be a part of that plan with us.
Kingdom Come - Acts 1: Generally speaking, when people stop what they're doing to stare up at into the sky, it's because something captivating and noteworthy is taking place—good or bad—there's a story unfolding, and we can't help but find ourselves a part of it. In Acts 1—Jesus' disciples are watching in wonder as the resurrected Lord ascends into heaven after having just commissioned them to reach the world with His Good News of salvation. In some sense, this Sunday we're having our own “staring at the sky moment”. As we, like the disciples, “pause” from our usual rhythms to marvel at the resurrected Jesus and consider what it means for the mission of the Church—our mission. What we'll find is that, like the disciples, we're not meant to stay staring at the sky… we are Here to Go! That is to say: By God's design, the purpose of the Christian's life on earth is to join Jesus in His mission of reaching the world with the Good News of salvation.
Paulos shares an encouraging message about the work being completed by God's people to impact the nations. This is an unfinished task and we are all called to join God as He continues to spread His Good News.
Are you weighed down by stress? anxiety? depression? unmanageable expectations? Jesus has come to bring freedom from your oppression. Are you weighed down by abuse? sickness? spiritual powers of darkness? imbalanced authority structures? Jesus has come to bring freedom from your oppression! And He has commissioned The Church to be the hands and feet that take His Good News and His compassion and healing restoration to our local communities and to the ends of the Earth.

Just as Noah was “a preacher of righteousness” during his life on earth (2 Peter 2:5), God has commissioned us to preach His Truth to every soul who will listen. In today's devotional, Dr. Michael Youssef exhorts us to obey God's call to share His Good News with the lost. a·pol·o·get·ics (noun): reasoned arguments or writings in justification of something, typically a theory or religious doctrine. It can be a bit intimidating to think of the concept of apologetics. We may feel like we have to have a theological background or even seminary degree to make an adequate defense of the faith. But in reality we simply need to know what we believe and why. From there, our own story of how we came to know Christ is important (we bear witness with our testimony). Today's podcast simply impresses the need to know these elements so we can share and plant a seed of faith in the lives we encounter. May every conversation be honoring and glorifying to God as we proclaim His Good News!
If you were in a burning building and a firefighter appeared and called, “Follow me! I'll show you the way out,” would you doubt him? Of course not! Would you be offended that he said he knew the only way to safety? No way! [You'd be right on his heels.] If you are a Christian you know that Jesus Christ truly is the only way to eternal life. But sometimes we are afraid to say that, because we fear offending people, or being called “closed-minded.” The truth is, there is only one way to peace. One way to eternal salvation. One way out. And it is through Jesus. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” If you truly believe that Jesus is the only way, make it a priority to share His Good News today. Jude verse 23 says, “Snatch others from the fire and save them.” This is Andrew Palau. radio.hopewithgod.com

We worship a God who speaks. All that is contained in the heavens and earth has been created and is presently being sustained by the LOGOS, the Word of God, God made flesh, who existed in the beginning, even "before" the foundation of the world (Genesis 1; John 1; Colossians 1; Ephesians 1).The Lord Jesus spoke creation into existence. By His Spirit, He inspired the Bible to be written through the agency of men. And when He proclaimed His Good News in and around Jerusalem, His stories and parables displayed a dazzlingly simple but profound logic that not only encouraged the brokenhearted but silenced His fiercest critics. His teaching glistened brightly like the very stars He has created, numbered and named, fitting His wisdom into brilliant constellations of exhortation, rebuke, encouragement and hope.On part two of our conversation with Professor of Philosophy at Dallas Baptist University, Travis Dickinson, Travis unpacks the glorious brilliance of Jesus' timeless teaching and proclamation of Good News and reminds us that the life of the mind is a commandment; an essential part of Christian discipleship. Though we fall short of obeying any of the commandments, a pursuit of knowing more about God's love and mercy in light of our own sin can only serve to strengthen our faith and enable us to give reasonable and logical defense for the hope that is in us.Travis Dickinson is the author of three books with one more on the way. His most recent book, Logic and the Way of Jesus, discusses logic and critical thinking modeled in the life and ministry of Jesus. And his forthcoming book, Wandering Towards God: Finding Faith in Doubts and Big Questions (IVP, October 2022), argues that leaning into our questions and doubts can lead to even greater faith as we discover truth and knowledge. This week, Pastor Gordon Allan, lead Pastor of Edinburgh Elim, brings the sermon. We are called to be salt and light and to be the herald of His Good News to all the world. Listen now to hear how we can be people that bring good news of salvation to everyone we encounter. 2 Corinthians 3:2 says: You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Kit McCarty welcomes Ted Vanlandeghem, the US Spokesperson for Maoz Israel, to talk about being a Messianic Jew in international outreach, and what it means to journey in the land of the unexpected. HIGHLIGHTS God has been at the forefront of my journey from the very beginning, guiding me in a supernatural way, to bring His Good News to people around the world, including the people in Israel. When you look back you can see how God was moving. I am a Jewish believer in Jesus, and I have a responsibility to share His message with my people. “You are no longer to toil in things of no eternal consequence. Your hands have been set apart for a holy occupation.” Muslims need to hear the message of Jesus, but they need compassion too. It blows their mind that Jewish Christians not only want to tell them about Jesus, but want to know them, and show them love, and protect them and help them. God does little things, which are to me the big things. God has taken me on this journey of the unexpected. The Lord spoke in my heart, “Ted I brought you this way to show you I'm the God of the 50¢. Everything you need I have provided or will provide for you. You just need to trust me, and let go, and release it all to me. Even when it doesn't make sense, completely and utterly put all of your trust in me.” We didn't ask anybody for help, but God knew the need. Before we spoke or prayed, He put it on somebody's heart in a crazy way. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it is true. Let go of control, and let the Lord steer your ship. Don't try to orchestrate it yourself. Uncertainty is an opportunity to reach out and minister to others who don't have hope and are hurting and afraid, to give them help and to show them the hope that we have.” REFERENCES Jews for Jesus The Christian and Missionary Alliance Maoz Israel Facebook.com/MaozIsrael I Stand With Israel (humanitarian site) CONTACT INFO To find out more about the organization, to give, to sign up for the free monthly newsletter to receive insight form the middle east and receive prayer points and updates, or to request a speaker, visit the websites or call: 800-856-7060 Email Ted V.
