Brzzinija. Ob koncu igre boste slišali tudi pogovor z avtorico Mašo Ogrizek. Episode 300: In June 2011, twenty-year-old musician Daniel Jordan Levesque moved from his family home in Revelstoke, B.C., to Victoria, full of dreams to start a new life and advance his burgeoning musical career. On June 15, seeking work, Daniel went to a 7-Eleven store, where he met Joshua Tyler Bredo, the store's Assistant Manager, who hired Daniel on the spot. Bredo presented himself as a good guy, a helpful friend, but in truth, he quickly became obsessed with Daniel sexually with nefarious motives in mind. Bredo began grooming Daniel, lying to him with promises of a more lavish lifestyle, plying him with drugs and alcohol while telling Daniel he saw him as a “little brother.” The coercion and lies continued until August 3, when Bredo lured Daniel to his apartment under the promise of an interview for Daniel at a non-existent law firm. It was there that Bredo killed Daniel and set up a scene to make it appear to be self-defence, later calling 911. Bredo was arrested that night and charged with Daniel's murder. However, the case was not put to rest until after a mistrial in 2015, numerous other delays and a guilty plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter in 2017.
For Brad Wickham, “The Frozen Dead Guy Days Festival” is a year-round event. That's because he's the caretaker of the frozen body of Bredo Morstoel, better known around the town of Nederland as Grandpa Bredo. As Morstoel's caretaker, Brad has driven up to see him every two weeks for the past five years, to add more dry ice and make sure he's still a comfortable minus-110 degrees Celsius. Monks have a tradition of brewing beer, and Red Deer’s Troubled Monk wanted to bring that tradition into the present. Troubled by the perfection of the beer they produce, our guests this week are Troubled Monk co-founder Charlie Bredo and head of sales Bud Kelly. Just a year after pouring their first pint in 2015 Troubled Monk won the silver medal at the 2016 Wold Beer Cup in Philadelphia for their Open Road Brown Ale, a huge achievement for any brewery, and especially for one as new as theirs. Since then Troubled Monk has expanding out into spirits, sodas, and other ready to drink beverages, pursuing whatever excites them, and whatever inspires other people and attracts them to their craft. As the co-founder, Charlie has been with Troubled Monk since the very beginning, and like many successful business owners on the podcast he recognizes the importance of having a strong team and playing to his team’s strengths. This plays a big part in Bud’s role as head of sales, who in many ways has become the face of the business for their customers. Charlie has a unique look on failure: “One of the worst things is early success, because you don't learn how to adapt to failure, and don’t know how to react when you first fail.” He also shares an early failure at Troubled Monk: having to dump over $200,000 worth of beer because of a quality issue and having no product in the market for a month. But they knew that it would be better to have no beer than to sell bad beer and leave a bad taste in the mouths of their early customers. This led to them adding an in-house lab for more extensive testing, and better beer every day. letsmeetforabeer.comalbertabeerfestivals.com Troubled Monk
