In this episode I am talking about the nature of the conspiracy theory. I think the actual word "conspiracy" is negative. So I'm trying to substitute that word with the more positive word "curiosity". I will start by giving the definition of the good old well-known "conspiracy" theory and go from there. Anyway you look at it, we can see individuals following and trying to figure out what's real and what's fake in these theories. To do this individuals will need the help of science, evidence, proof, and research. Question everything is my belief. And then question more. Some believers aren't willing or don't want to look to find the truth but in the end, it's not dangerous... it's actually pretty harmless. I found it's more to do with hanging out with a like-minded group of people and not being alone. It really is okay. With these theories there's a great deal of information out there for you to watch, read, and listen to. And you can then choose what to believe. And then there's the "Dunning - Kruger Effect" that just might explain a few things about how we take in information and how we may think the experts are real experts but turn out to know very little. Beware of that. Charlatans are everywhere trying desperately to get notoriety, fame, and money for their so-called knowledge. I talk about two "conspiracy" ("curiosity") theories and let you decide. Let some of my Call-To-Actions help you along. This is a get-together episode. Grab a drink and listen with your family and friends to have a robust conversation. In the midst of retirement after a 24-year stint in teaching, school administration, and graduate and doctorate studies, that’s exactly what happened to Sara Thurman. Since 2014, she has sold more than 750 paintings and written a book about her experience. The proceeds from sales of the paintings go to missionary workers around the globe. Now, Thurman has come full circle and is a speaker and mentor once more, hosting e-courses and retreats, all to spread the message she received from God. Curious? The Future of Work and the emerging role of HR : Episode 1 My conversation with Themba Chakela was like walking “through the looking glass”, in all the best ways. Moving from idea to idea, we talked about what’s changing in the people practice space. I like Themba’s positioning of HR as People People. If as Themba says, “people are the last frontier in business”, what do we need to do, be, know, feel, as People People so that employees can thrive and business is optimized? Well, the first thing we certainly need to do according to Themba is decolonize HR. I agree. We also spoke about symbolic shifts and finding hidden wisdom. Curious? Listen to find out more.
Big videogame companies are already doing this, however the ones we have to look out for the most are the small "studios". Those "studios" that have the ambition of 10 AAA titles without 90% of the resources. Don't throw money away, yes it's yours and you do whatever you want with it, but you are feeding something very negative! Curious? We recently had an opportunity to visit with one of the creators of Vegan Food Magazine, a brand-spanking-new online publication preparing for blast-off next month. And o-my-goodness, what fun we had! Misconceptions about vegan eating, shocking revelations about the Parisian vegan scene, implications of ‘the health argument’ for veganism, the moral schizophrenia surrounding horse vs. cow slaughter, and rowdy discourse regarding those pasturbatory ‘Paleo’ diets… naturally, it’s all interspersed with random cat-vs-podcaster maulings, for your listening enjoyment. With a couple/ three glasses of vegan wine to grind our gears, we sort it all right out! OH YES: also in this episode, learn about beans that can ‘toxic’ you if you don’t hang’em in the river first.
