 JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ FOR THIS WEEK'S ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING PODCAST WHICH DROPS AUGUST 15 @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking. This week we explore the true meaning of this month's lunar cycle from the July 24 Leo New Moon opposite Pluto in Aquarius, which asked us to plant seeds to better understand we're each here to evolve into the solar, creative, unique, individual we came here to be. And not to be intimidated out of that quest through manipulative coercive disempowerment tactics by the powers that be.So we knew from the beginning of this current monthly lunar cycle that it wasn't going to be without its struggles to maintain our individuality against those in power. It's important to remember that the Leo archetype is about not hiding one's light under a bushel, so that one can ultimately contribute one's unique creativity to the group for the purpose of the betterment of humanity. It's also important to understand that this month's lunation was accompanied by the beginning of the long-term trine of Uranus in Gemini to Pluto in Aquarius. And that this airy trine aspect in the sky makes its presence felt from now until the fall of 2028—aside from some brief times when it loosens a bit during that period.And that means that what we're experiencing during this period is a slow evolutionary process accompanied by many “aha!” type moments. We'll also see Uranus retrograde back into 29-degrees Taurus--known as the Pleiades point, associated with blindness—by November 7, though he'll still then maintain an out of sign trine with Pluto in Aquarius. So, Uranian revelations may well include suddenly learning where we've been blinded to what's really been happening as part of Pluto in Aquarius's evolutionary process to empower us all as individuals who stand together. America was built on the “E pluribus unim” motto, which means “out of many, one,” adopted at the signing of America's Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. When the Scorpio Moon squared the Leo Sun August 1 at the waxing first quarter “crisis in action”—which was accompanied by Venus's square to Saturn & Neptune & her quincunx to Pluto—we witnessed the beginning of our understanding that we the people were being manipulated. That's because this is when Donald Trump fired the U.S. Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics that day based on his dislike of the real unemployment numbers he then sought to fabricate into different, better sounding numbers. He also terminated the head of the Internal Revenue Service, again an indication of trying to control numbers, in line with the fact that Mars in Virgo was conjunct the transiting Virgo South Node at the Leo New Moon. After that, the August 9 Aquarius Full Moon square to Juno & Vesta in Scorpio asked us to release any tendencies toward Leo's shadow side. And that meant letting go of any selfish tendencies to disregard the specialness of each individual soul by lumping them together into a group of undesirables. By that time, Trump had re-imposed higher tariffs on 90 different "partner" countries, though by August 11--as Mercury stationed direct again in Leo & Ceres stationed retrograde in Aries (square to the Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Cancer)—he delayed tariffs on China. In other words, he TACO'd out, again…Many reputable financiers & economists predict a rise in the already high prices of imported goods—particularly at the grocery store & via automobile sales, etc. It's clear now that tariffs hurt American consumers as much if not more than foreign producers in the form of increased costs/prices across the board.Now, this week's third quarter “crisis in consciousness” stubborn Taurus Moon, in tension with the monarchical tendencies of the Leo Sun, asks us during the waning portion of this month's lunar cycle to stand our ground against the powers that be that try to define us as “less than.”What we see now on the ground in places like Washington, D.C., as federal troops & the FBI first joined--but now try to supersede the authority of--the local police there, is people beginning to protest against the authoritarian takeover of the U.S. capitol.Going back to the initial message & meaning of this month's lunar cycle since the July 24 Leo New Moon opposite Pluto in Aquarius, we can see now at this waning third-quarter square that we're asked to stand our ground as a wannabe tyrant tries to manipulate & control us all. The want us to believe that resistance in futile, but American history tells us otherwise.The presence of federal troops in U.S. cities reminds us of the time when British monarchy demanded that colonists house British troops in their homes. Known as the Quartering Act of 1774, this became of the Intolerable Acts which helped light the fuse that fueled colonial resentment towards British rule which ultimately contributed to the growing tensions that led to the American Revolution. Hence, the "invasion" of illegal immigrants Trump has used as an excuse to federalize our local police by taking over our cities is actually a federal invasion of citizens' local & state rights as the national government flood cities with federal troops, the FBI, & Immigration & Customs Enforcement's gestapo-like henchmen.In other astro-news, we have also today's "crisis in consciousness" third-quarter lunar square's summit in Anchorage Alaska between Trump & Russia's dictator, Vladimir Putin. Given the astro-energies at play, it seems likely that Putin--who already believes he has the upper hand in any peace talk negotiations--will stand his ground, thus continuing to disempower Zelensky's Ukraine.And given the fawning relationship of Trump to Putin, it's highly likely that Trump will once again flip-flop to turn against Ukraine, especially since the Moon will enter Gemini & conjoin Uranus there on August 16. Perhaps then Trump will drop his quest to be nominated for a Nobel Peace prize for his efforts to bring peace to Ukraine. There you have the shadow side of the Leo archetype in a nutshell...Next week, we see the arrival, late on August 22 or early August 23 depending on your time zone, of the Virgo New Moon at 0'23” Virgo. Such a move, on the heels of the Venus squares to Saturn & Neptune, reeked of a king who chose to kill the messenger rather than pay attention to the actual message, without a care for his partners.This, in turn, leads to the inability of Americans to trust the data coming out of its formerly trustworthy government agencies in charge of such economic statistical analyses. More examples in this podcast!And that leads us to other August 1 announcements such as the one from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that it will shut down next year. Then there's the news that convicted sex trafficker & pedophile Ghislaine Maxwell was moved to a “Club Fed” prison after her recent meetings with the U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trump's former criminal attorney in 2024 when Trump was convicted in the NY Stormy Daniels hush money case. What's becoming clear now also since Uranus entered Gemini on July 7 is the public's change in perspective. That means a change in opinion, as the Trump/Epstein scandal becomes the monster that just won't die. Meanwhile those formerly supportive of Trump begin to turn against him as they hope against hope that he will adjust his grip & “release the Epstein files” as Venus quincunxed Pluto August 1 & 2, too.That this is symbolic of the energy of tomorrow's Aquarius Full Moon square Juno in Scorpio, as Mars opposes both Saturn & Neptune August 8/9 & creates a huge amount of frustration & a sense of impotence a la “but what can I do about any of this?”It's clear that under the SA/NE in Aries energies that boundaries continue to erode. From those between the federal government & the people it's supposed to represent; the boundaries between federal & state governance; & those between our military—designed to fight an external enemy—who invade our local borders & our city's streets. This becomes even more obvious since the FBI has now been tasked by King Trump to hunt down Texas democratic state legislators who refuse to vote for gerrymandered maps that further curtail the right of Black & brown people to equal representation when it comes to voting. Never mind if it's legal to use federal FBI law enforcement resources this way…The ultimate message of this Aquarius Full Moon, however, is that when we stand together as a group & face the bully, there's ultimately more power in numbers than in that of a weak, narcissistic wannabe king. Together we stand, divided we fall would be this month's full Moon message--& that we cannot succeed if we do not even try.Hence, as America government becomes increasingly autocratic, it becomes ever more evident that the only way to stop this is to band together to fight the authoritarian powers that be. Whether that ultimately means masses of people protesting together to get their message across, or worse, is yet to be determined. What's clear is that now is not the time to back down.However, it's fine to take a break, especially from social media—much of which under Uranus in Gemini is filled with propagandist BS, even from the left--& withdraw, for a little while. Strengthening our critical thinking skills is what's it's all about over the next seven years as Uranus in Mercury provides the ability for sudden revelatory insights as information becomes more a tool of distortion than one of fact. In the short term, as Mercury stations direct in Leo on August 11, we have the ability to regroup, observe & begin to pay attention. As more people become increasingly aware of what's going on around them, more will join the fight. In episode 115 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield explore the long-running mysterious relationship between actor/writers Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak. Rumors have swirled for years about these two who officially dated in the early 2000's but have remained incredibly close and are often seen together at major Hollywood events.    First, we look at  B.J.'s chart and see a prominent, boundary-pushing Aries rising. With his chart ruler, Mars in Gemini, placed in his third house, it's obvious that his pursuit of writing and comedy is central to his life's motivation.  We also find a Mercury/Sun conjunction in his fifth house, telling us his books, and especially his children's book, will be part of his legacy. In episode 108 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on a couple that has taken the national spotlight after unfortunately losing their home in the Pacific Palisades Fire, former MTV reality show stars of The Hills, Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi Montag (Pratt). The two have been married for over 15 years, so something is working!   We start with Spencer's chart and see a hard-working, growth oriented, and sometimes opportunistic Capricorn rising. It's clear that building is the name of his game and with a bold, attention attracting Leo Sun, fame is the vehicle he uses to do it! Then again, we also see a private, resilient Scorpio Moon, and with his house burning to the ground, we are seeing this Moon navigate the loss in real time - he has literally had to rise from the ashes to survive.   Next, we look at Heidi's chart and see an innocent Virgo Sun strongly oriented towards perfection - however there's a twist because it gets a square from rebellious Uranus, which can urge her to take things to the extreme...she is known for having ten surgeries in one day! Friendships and community are important to her Aquarius Moon and her deeply intense Venus/Pluto conjunction leans toward serious appearance transformations and dramatic love life.   Their synastry shows some equally supportive and challenging aspects. Starting with their "Full Moon aspect" with Spencer's Leo Sun opposing Heidi's Aquarius Moon. This denotes a balance between their outward identities and emotional selves. In episode 103 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on broadcast journalist and Vanderbilt royalty, Anderson Cooper and his former businessman beau, Benjamin Maisani.  The two are romantically separated, but are co-parents to two children and have maintained a strong friendship.   First, we look into Anderson's chart and see themes of caretaking and wanting to nurture/mother others, thanks to a Cancerian Midheaven conjunct Venus and a 7th house Moon opposing his Ascendant.  This conveys that he is a family-oriented person with a deep need for emotional comfort in relationships. But with his Sun in the eighth house, getting a harsh square from controlling Pluto, there is great difficulty and lessons around family and power dynamics that occur when shared wealth is involved.   Next, we look into Benjamin's chart and see a genius alignment between the Sun and Mercury in intellectual and forward-thinking Aquarius. This is an innovative man that needs to do things differently and on his own terms. Adding a supportive trine from Pluto in Libra, we sense that his social influence and networking skills are far-reaching.  We are also glad to see that his moody Scorpio Moon gets some help from a sturdy and patient Venus in Capricorn.   Together, we find that this couple has a surprising number of aspects and find many between assertive cardinal signs. With sextile Mars', trine Suns and sextile Saturns, their working relationship is impeccable. Both of their ego needs, in particular, get a big, supportive, boost from this relationship. But with Benjamin's burdensome Saturn conjunct Anderson's Sun and Ben's chaotic Uranus opposing Anderson's Moon, their domestic life seems difficult to say the least. History often rhymes, & the current atmosphere bears close similarity to the “October surprise” from October 28, 2016, when a late in the game announcement by then FBI Director James Comey changed the direction of the November 8 election's outcome that year.      In addition, this podcast compares the astrology of the GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump's October 27 rally at NYC's Madison Square Garden with the pro-Nazi rally held there on February 20, 1939, & find some not so subtle similarities. Hint: This time transiting Mars in Cancer is opposing both transiting Pluto AND the U.S. natal Pluto in the Sibly chart's 8th & 2nd Houses, respectively. Back in 1939, transiting Pluto in Cancer in the U.S.'s 8th H opposed not only its natal 2nd H position but also transiting Juno in Capricorn there, the goddess asteroid of “the wife” or partnership. Perfect scenario for pissing off those who may formerly have supported you, eh?We look also at how Trump's continuing misogynist rhetoric, including the Mars opposite Pluto type recent statement that he will protect women “whether they like it or not” will spawn a “hell that no fury like a woman scorned” tsunami at the polls. This is entirely possible, now that Trump's 3rd H progressed Scorpio Moon is less than a degree away from an exact square to his natal 12th House Leo Pluto. The simple definition? “Trouble with women!”Meanwhile, the question becomes whether we've heeded the October 2 Libra New Moon solar eclipse's request to plant seeds that blossom into us all becoming our own best partner before seeking external ones. If so, now the Scorpio New Moon tasks us to reject Libra's indecisiveness & instead to go deep into trusting our own inner truth. What does that mean? Well, the message now at this Scorpio New Moon is to plant seeds that can blossom into a greater sense of self-empowerment. That comes through the Mercury opposite Uranus revelations of October 30 that helped spark a deeper understanding & greater consciousness that a strong sense of true inner trust brings with it freedom of choice. We're aided in this endeavor to expand our consciousness when Mercury in Scorpio trines Mars in Cancer & then enters Sagittarius November 2. The exact Mars/Pluto opposition is followed by Venus in Sagittarius's opposition to Jupiter in Gemini November 3, which is also when Mars enters loud & proud Leo later that day.Venus opposite Jupiter brings up the issue of how much is too much & whether those who have more (you know, like billionaires Elon Musk & Jeff Bezos) should share more with those who do not—or at least not accuse the have nots of being lazy good for nothing loafers. You know, those who suck at the teat of government, as former President Ronald Reagan was fond of saying while promoting his austerity-oriented cuts to federal funding. The Scorpio Sun's November 4 trine to Saturn Rx in Pisces --which is slowing down now to station direct on November 15—allows us a clearer mental picture of who we are & what we do in order to develop the self-discipline necessary to accomplish our goals.With that in mind, this podcast explores the transits to the U.S. Sibly chart on election day, November 5, when the Moon moves that morning from fiery adventurous Sagittarius to earthy practical Capricorn as we stand at the threshold of this most important juncture in U.S. history.  How that will play exactly remains to be seen, but know that the “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned Mars/Pluto opposition is still very much in play. As is the square of transiting Saturn retrograde in Pisces in the U.S. 4th House of home, security, tradition, family, nurturing, compassion, memory, & habit to the U.S. Sagittarius/Gemini Ascendant/Descendant axis.Will Americans' relationship with the presidential candidates be “severely tested” now, as astrologer Rob Hand describes this aspect in his book “Planets In Transit.” Or will it result in ”a serious breakdown in your relationships because of misplaced priorities in the past or because of associating with people who were wrong for you in terms of your personal goals & needs.”   Great question, and a good one to keep in mind as some people are still deciding who to vote for.
