"From the Frontlines" is an ADL podcast which brings listeners to the frontline in the battle against antisemitism and hate. Ensuring that the information which people receive is accurate and not biased is a critical component in the fight against antisemitism and hate. Wikipedia has become a go-to source for information as the largest online encyclopedia, which available in over 300 languages. It is one of the most visited websites globally, with over 4.4 billion unique visitors last month alone. Unfortunately, a new ADL report has also found extensive evidence of a biased, coordinated campaign on Wikipedia related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This podcast focuses on what ADL has uncovered and ADL's recommendations for fixing this issue. Daniel Kelley is the guest for this podcast. He is the Director of Strategy and Operations for ADL's Center for Technology and Society. This center spearheaded the research into Wikipedia. To read the full report, visit: https://www.adl.org/resources/report/editing-hate-how-anti-israel-and-anti-jewish-bias-undermines-wikipedias-neutrality. This conversation was recorded for podcast in April 2025.
Bump and Stacy are joined by Daniel Kelley of FTN Fantasy to discuss the best and worst first-round NFL teams of the last decade, they look back on why Seahawks GM John Schnieder hasn’t paid for an offensive lineman yet, they give you their thoughts on another Luis Castillo starting for the Mariners and the Cardinals signing TE Trey McBride, and they discuss what is and isn’t working for the Seahawks in the first round.
In this week's episode of the show, I speak with Daniel Kelley about the culture of online gaming, and the unique set of challenges in the gaming space, related to hate, harassment, and extremism. We talk about the possibilities, and limitations, of regulating that space, and what the landscape of gaming might foretell about the future of increasingly online lives that we live, as more and more of our social interactions take place virtually. We talk about how to make those spaces safer and more inclusive, and whether moderation is the right tack to take in developing that more inclusive future, as well as what other strategies for cultivating such spaces might be possible. Daniel Kelley is the Director of Strategy and Operations of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Center for Technology and Society (CTS). CTS works through research and advocacy to fight for justice and fair treatment for all in digital social spaces from social media to online games and beyond. For the last five years, Daniel has been the lead author of the first nationally representative survey of hate, harassment, and positive social experiences in online games. He is also the co-author of the Disruption and Harms in Online Games Framework, a resource to define harms in online multiplayer games together with members of the game industry coalition the Fair Play Alliance. He also leads CTS' tech accountability research efforts, such as its Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial Report Card, which looks at ways to create research-grounded advocacy products to inform the public about the nature of hate and harassment online and to hold tech companies accountable.
"From the Frontlines" is an ADL podcast which brings listeners to the frontline in the battle against antisemitism and hate. It seems that with every news item, an active misinformation and disinformation campaign pops up almost immediately to fit a skewed narrative or agenda. Battling against this is a major frontline in the fight against hate. We certainly have seen this in the wake of the horrific Hamas attack against Israel on 10/7, and as we approach the November 2024 election, this only has the potential to get worse. This past week, the ADL activist group known as ADL New Jersey decided to host a very important webinar on this topic with two ADL experts, moderated by Scott Richman, the host of this podcast. It was called, “Misinformation and Disinformation: What Can You Do?” and an edited version is now available here as a podcast. The experts on this program were Sara Aniano and Daniel Kelley. Sara is a Disinformation Analyst at the ADL's Center on Extremism, and Daniel Kelley is the Director of Strategy and Operations and Acting Head of the ADL Center for Technology and Society (CTS). For more information about ADL's Center on Extremism, visit https://www.adl.org/research-centers/center-on-extremism, and for more information on ADL's Center for Technology and Society, visit https://www.adl.org/research-centers/center-technology-society. This podcast is an edited version of an ADL New York/New Jersey program which took place on July 25, 2024.
The documentary filmmaker Alison O'Daniel makes her first appearance on the podcast to discuss her film "The Tuba Thieves" which will have its broadcast premiere on Independent Lens (PBS) on May 20th. The central mystery of this unconventional documentary isn't about theft; it's about the nature of sound itself. Also, the Artistic Director and Founder of the Berkshires International Film Festival, Kelley Vickery, returns to the podcast to discuss this year's festival May 30th through June 2nd.

"From the Frontlines" is an ADL podcast. It is hosted by ADL New York/New Jersey Director Scott Richman and focuses on ADL's efforts to fight antisemitism and all forms of hate in the United States and around the world. In this battle, a particularly pernicious form of antisemitism is Holocaust denial. It is of course absurd and deeply offensive. It is also extremely troubling as our eyewitnesses - the survivors of the Holocaust - are mostly gone. After a long battle, many social media companies have finally agreed to ban this form of hate from their sites. But, how well are they managing to keep Holocaust denial from polluting their pages? That is the subject of this show. Daniel Kelley, the Director of Strategy and Operations for ADL's Center for Technology and Society or CTS, recently completed an assessment of how well these companies are responding. It is called ADL's Holocaust Denial Report Card, and he joined the show to tell us about it. CTS is ADL's unit which fights antisemitism and hate in digital social spaces. It is hosted by ADL New York/New Jersey Director Scott Richman and focuses on ADL's efforts to fight antisemitism and all forms of hate in the United States and around the world. In this battle, online games have unfortunately become a breeding ground. ADL's annual report on experiences in online multiplayer games shows that the spread of hate, harassment, and extremism in these digital spaces continues to grow unchecked. This is a problem as over 215 million people of all ages play video games as part of this $203 billion industry. Daniel Kelley joined the show to unpack the details of this year's report which he authored. He is ADL's Director of Strategy and Operations for ADL's Center for Technology and Society. Content moderation in video games turns out to be just as much of a bummer as content moderation everywhere else, perhaps even more so. This week on Arbiters of Truth, our series on the online information ecosystem, Evelyn Douek and Quinta Jurecic spoke with Daniel Kelley, the director of strategy and operations for the Anti-Defamation League's Center for Technology and Society. He studies how companies deal with the many moderation issues that pop up in gaming, from harassment to digital recreations of violent hate crimes and white nationalist propaganda. And his team at the Anti-Defamation League has a new report out on how players experience abuse—but also joy and connection—while gaming. Quinta and Evelyn asked Daniel to make the case for why everyone, gamers and non-gamers alike, should care about games, why harassment in gaming seems particularly bad compared to non-gaming platforms, and where the gaming industry stands when it comes to investing in content moderation. Daniel Kelley is the associate director of the Center for Technology and Society at the Anti-Defamation League. He leads the center’s work to fight hate, bias and harassment in online gaming. And he explains why games should be considered as social spaces, and toughen their moderation and harassment policies.

2nd Sunday of Easter Dive Mercy Sunday by Fr. Daniel Kelley Homily. Today, on the final day of the Octave of Easter, the eight-day celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, we give praise and thanks for God’s mercy. Scripture is replete with examples of divine mercy, foremost among them Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Truly, as we hear repeated in the responsorial psalm today, “(God’s) mercy endures forever.” As we celebrate today’s liturgy, let us recall the times in our lives when we have felt that tender mercy. #stjoe88
Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord #Homily - Cycle C with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today we remember Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem, when he was met by crowds of disciples who joyfully welcomed him to the holy city. As our palm branches are blessed today, we welcome Jesus into our lives, asking that he make them holy by his presence. Then, when we leave today with our blessed palms, we will praise God with joy, for Christ has won the victory over sin and death, winning for us our salvation.#stjoe88 #danielkelley
5th Sunday of Lent Year C with Fr. Daniel Kelley. If our God were a vengeful God, who could survive? We are sinful creatures, struggling to do good in God’s eyes, but often coming up short. Even now, during this penitential season, we need to seek God’s mercy. Fortunately, our God is a merciful God, always ready to forgive us. As we celebrate with each other today, let us thank God for this overflowing mercy and consider those whom we ourselves need to forgive
8th Sunday in Ordinary Time- Cycle C Fr. Daniel Kelley Lent is just around the corner, so today is a good day to think about our character as we approach this holy season. Am I prone to judge others, more likely to recognize others’ faults rather than my own? Jesus points out that when we overlook our own faults, not only are we ourselves left deficient, but our judgmental outlook distorts our view of others.
1st Sunday of Lent - Cycle C with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Always on the First Sunday of Lent we hear Jesus being tempted by the devil during the forty days he spent in the desert. We too are beginning a forty-day period during which we are challenged to repent and reorient ourselves toward God. We face temptations every day that distract us from following the Lord or lead us away from God. May our gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist inspire us and nourish us in the weeks ahead.
Second Sunday in Lent - Cycle C with Fr. Daniel Kelley, pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. In Luke’s account of the Transfiguration, which we hear in today’s Gospel, a voice from the heavens calls out, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.” At that, Peter, John, and James fall silent, enabling them to listen to the Lord. Let us take this opportunity during our Lenten journey to listen to Jesus and reflect on what he is saying to us. #stjoe88
Third Sunday of Lent, Year C with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Two and a half weeks ago, as we began our Lenten journeys, we may have been told, “Repent, and believe in the Gospel.” It was not a suggestion. It was a command, a command to orient ourselves toward God. Have we followed this command? Are we putting our faith into action? It’s not too late. Like the fig tree in today’s Gospel, we are cared for by a patient gardener. We have been given another chance to bear fruit.
Solemnity of Christ the King Homily with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King, acknowledging that Jesus Christ is above all temporal rulers, past, present, or future. We also recognize that Jesus Christ should reign in our lives, guiding us in our thoughts, our decisions, and our conduct. In both the universe that is the entire world and the universe that is our own heart, Jesus Christ is Lord. We will spend the next several minutes listening to the word of the Lord. Though scripture was written by different types of authors—storytellers, prophets, psalmists, letter writers, evangelists—and in different forms—historical narratives, myths, psalms, testimonies, epistles—it all is the word of God. In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells Pilate that everyone who belongs to the truth listens to his voice. We belong to the truth, so now we listen to God’s voice.
33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. The month of November is the time when the Church traditionally recalls those who have gone before us. We mourn their loss, we pray for their souls, we hope to be reunited with them when we ourselves die. As it is the end of the liturgical year (it will begin anew in two weeks with Advent), we also bring to mind the end of time. Though we cannot know the day nor the hour, our trust and hope is in the Lord.
28th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Homily with Fr. Daniel Kelley. “All things are possible for God.” Jesus follows a series of challenging pronouncements with this line—some of the most consoling words that he utters in the Gospels. As we celebrate Mass today, recall the times that you have had to rely on God because you didn’t know if you could manage on your own. For us human beings on our own, it may well be impossible, but for God, all things are possible. Solomon makes a wise decision in today’s first reading, choosing wisdom over power or riches. He realizes that those things are temporary, whereas wisdom is lasting. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches the rich man the same lesson, noting the incompatibility of wealth and the kingdom of God. This is our challenge today. How are our temporary possessions obstacles to our mission and ultimate goal? Can the “two-edged sword” that the writer of Hebrews invokes separate what lasts from what doesn’t?
27th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Homily by Father Daniel Kelley. “If we love one another, God remains in us,” we sing before the Gospel reading today. How appropriate on this Respect Life Sunday. All life, everyone’s life, is a gift from God, a gift given out of love by our Creator. Therefore, all life is precious in God’s eyes. If all life is precious, all life is worthy of our love. With that attitude and with God remaining in us, we can sing the second half of the Gospel acclamation, “and God’s love is brought to perfection in us.” Twice in today’s readings we hear, in reference to those who are married, “the two become one flesh.” Significantly, we hear these words first in Genesis, where the first person becomes a co-creator, naming all the animals and even providing a rib so that God could create a partner. In becoming one flesh, two people create a new and unique entity. Let us reflect on how we have or can become co-creators, creating bonds and creating life from the impulse of love.

Holy Thursday at the Evening Mass with Fr. Daniel Kelley. On this Holy Thursday, we begin our three-day celebration of the Paschal Mystery, the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ in history and in our own lives today. Let us enter into this celebration with hearts made ready by our Lenten practices and God’s grace, so that we may be open to the movement of God’s spirit and ready to hear God’s message of comfort and challenge. #stjoe88 #stjosephcatholicchurch
Feast of the Presentation of The Lord with Fr. Daniel Kelley, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington TX. Today's homily is on the Feast of the PResentation of The Lord. On this fortieth day after Christmas, we find yet another reason to celebrate the great incarnation of Jesus Christ our Lord. This day was traditionally the end of a much longer Christmas season than what we currently observe, and in the midst of continuing winter darkness it is good to recall yet again the true Light of the world. Let us enter joyfully into this celebration, and together with Simeon and Anna announce salvation to all the world.
33nd Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Many think that because they can compare what is going on in the world around us with the vision presented by Jesus in today’s Gospel, the end of the world must be near. The truth is that we just don’t know. But Jesus wants us to be ready, to persevere to the end so that our lives will be saved. Let us listen with open ears and hearts to the warnings that God gives us today
The Solemnity of All Saints with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today we remember and celebrate all those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith and have made their robes white in the blood of the Lamb. Our Eucharist is but a foretaste of the heavenly banquet, but it bids us to persevere in the faith of those who have joined the communion of saints. So let us call on all the saints today to help us to grow in our own faith toward the day when we can share with all of them in the banquet at the Lord’s heavenly table. #stjoe88.org #stjosephcatholicchurch #frdanielkelley
31st Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Saint Luke once again presents us with a story about a man whose wealth was gained at the expense of others. But this time the man, Zacchaeus, repents, and Jesus proclaims salvation for him. As we move through this celebration today, let us pray for the wisdom to repent of our own sins, so that we too will hear Jesus proclaim salvation for us. #stjoe88 #frdanielkelley #stjosephcatholicchurch
30th Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today we are gathered in prayer once again at God’s invitation. It is our choice, Jesus tells us today, whether to pray from our hearts or for show. Let us take the time that we need today to search our hearts and find at least a small part of our inmost selves that we can offer up to God in prayer. This can be a first step, perhaps, in deepening our relationship with the God who loves each of us so profoundly.
26 Sunday of Ordinary Time and Baptism Sunday with Fr. Daniel Kelley. This Sunday continues our focus on the least ones of the world and God’s care for them. In our society’s preoccupation with acquiring more and more material goods, our celebration today is a good reminder that we need to remember those who are being left behind. Let us pause and take the time to pray today for the ability to see beyond the distractions of the things we possess to recognize our brothers and sisters in need. #stjoe88 #stjosephcatholicchurch
27th Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr Daniel Kelley. As we gather today at the invitation of our loving God, our focus is on faith—how much we have, what it enables us to do in God’s name. Sometimes it is difficult for us to maintain our faith when so much of the world around us seems to deny what we believe. Yet we hear again today that even the smallest amount of faith can accomplish great things. Let us resolve today, then, to look for those instances when someone’s faith is fruitful, and allow those occasions to nourish our own faith. #stjoe88 #stjosephcatholichurch #frdanielkelley
28th Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today we recognize and celebrate our God who brings the gift of healing. In the Gospel Jesus heals ten lepers, but we know that God heals many kinds of afflictions. As we gather today, let us bring with us all our cares, concerns, injuries, and ills, and ask the God of all to heal our brokenness as only God can. #stjoe88 #stjosephcatholicchurch #frdanielkelley
25th Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. With all the media coverage of finances and markets and money, the last thing most of us might want to hear in church is more money talk. Yet that is what our God has invited us here for today. As you might expect, Jesus has some interesting things to say. In particular, he encourages us to use our wealth and resources for the benefit of others. So perhaps our prayer today can be for the humility to recognize that what we have is not ours but God’s, and for the grace to be able to share it with our sisters and brothers. 24th Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today is a day to rejoice in God’s mercy. In the Gospel, we will hear that Jesus welcomes sinners and eats with them. And here we are, gathered around the table of the Lord! Indeed, the Gospel relates three stories of recovery of what was lost and the joy that follows. The first reading as well is a story of love and forgiveness. Perhaps our best response to such a loving and merciful God is a prayer of gratitude, which we can offer during our celebration today. Join us every weekend for one of our weekend masses. St Joseph Catholic Church is located at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Alringont, TX. 23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. As we gather today, the school year is in full swing and the parish schedule is full. With so much to give thanks and praise to God for, we are reminded in our readings today that God desires our full commitment to the task of discipleship. Perhaps our prayer today can be for a renewal of commitment in all our parish ministries, and for renewed hearts for each of us as well. Join us every weekend for one of our weekend masses. St Joseph Catholic Church is located at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Alringont, TX. Check our website at http://www.stjoe88.org #stjoe88 #stjosephcatholicchurch #frdanielkelley
22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley. As we gather on this Labor Day weekend, we are reminded at this Mass that God seeks out and upholds the lowly of this world. Our psalm refrain sings, “God, in your goodness, you have made a home for the poor,” and our Gospel says, “The one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Let us give praise and thanks to God today for all who labor, whatever their rank or position, and pray for all who need work. And let us pray for the grace of humility for ourselves. Join us every weekend for one of our weekend masses. St Joseph Catholic Church is located at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Alringont, TX. 19th Sunday of Ordinary Time with Fr. Daniel Kelley pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. Today dear brothers and sisters, our gathering today at God’s invitation con¬tinues a topic introduced in last week’s Gospel: proper preparation for the coming of the Lord. Last week’s Gospel concerned the preparation of an individual for the end of his own life. This week we are confronted with communal responsibility. As we move through today’s celebra¬tion, let us be aware of how we can prepare ourselves as a community for the coming of the Lord. Join us every weekend for one of our weekend masses. St Joseph Catholic Church is located at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Alringont, TX. Check our website at http://www.stjoe88.org #stjoe88 #stjosephcatholicchurch #frdanielkelley
18th Sunday of Ordinary Time by Fr Daniel Kelley. My friends, we gather here at God’s invitation to give thanks and praise for the great things that God has done for us and given to us. Yet we must acknowledge that these gifts, no matter how wonderful, are but fleeting. Our eyes and our desires must always be focused on God’s reign, both here and hereafter. As we worship together today, let us pray for God to help us to grow rich in the things that matter to God. Join us every weekend for one of our weekend masses. 10th Sunday of Ordinary Time homily with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today marks our return to the Sundays of Ordinary Time. Right away we find ourselves listening to stories about the dead being restored to life and Saint Paul being raised from spiritual death through his conversion. Now, we may not be able to raise the dead, but perhaps we can lift the spirits of a struggling parent. We may not be able to convert someone like Paul, but we can proclaim the Good News and let God take care of the rest. Today let us pray to begin Ordinary Time listening for what God wants us to do. St. Joseph Catholic Church is located at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington, Texas a suburb in the middle of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ "Corpus Christi" with Fr. Daniel Kelley, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX Today we remember in a special way the gift of the Holy Eucharist, first given to us by Jesus at the Last Supper. This is a gift that we celebrate weekly, some of us even daily—Christ’s Body and Blood given for our salvation and for our nourishment. We are so familiar with it that every now and then we need a reminder of how profound a gift it is. So let us give thanks and praise to God especially today for this great gift of the Eucharist. Solemnity of the Ascension with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Our Easter season continues today with the great celebration of the Ascension of our Lord into heaven. Often we don’t know what we are capable of until we have to take responsibility for something ourselves. Perhaps Jesus knew this trait of human nature when he chose to leave us on our own. Of course, he promised the Holy Spirit to help us. Our prayer together today can be that we will be faithful witnesses to all that God has done for us.

5th Sunday of Easter with Fr. Daniel Kelley. On this Fifth Sunday of Easter, Jesus’ new command to us is to love one another as he has loved us. In a world that seems to be marked more and more by intolerance and suspicion, following this command can seem to be extraordinarily difficult. Friday of the Passion of the Lord (Good Friday) with Fr. Daniel Kelley. As we continue our celebration of this sacred three-day liturgy, we are invited to ponder what great love God has for us, that God’s only Son endured this Passion for us and for our sins. Let us listen to the story of this amazing love, which begins with the words of Isaiah describing God’s suffering servant and Saint Paul’s proclamation of Christ the High Priest. Let us be moved by this great love that will end not in death, but in victory over death, and allow ourselves to be transformed and freed from our sins. St. Joseph Catholic Church is located at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington, Texas a suburb in the middle of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. May tonight’s Eucharist strengthen us for this three-day pilgrimage and lead us to new life with our risen Lord. Thursday Evening of the Lord’s Supper. Palm Sunday Homily by Fr. Daniel Kelley, pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. We have spent this Lent in prayer and sacrifice. As we gather here today, we will bless these palm branches and carry them high in honor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us carry with us throughout this holiest of weeks this sense of honoring our Lord as we retrace his steps through Jerusalem to Calvary. May these palms be reminders to us not of our failures and sins, but of Christ’s great victory over sin and death, and his rule over our hearts for ever.
5th Sunday of Lent Fr. Daniel Kelley pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington TX. As we gather here today, let us take stock of how the Lenten season has gone for us so far. Perhaps we haven’t done everything we had hoped we could do when Lent began. If we take today’s liturgy to heart, we just might see that we can’t do it alone. We need the help of our loving and merciful God, who opens up paths in even the most difficult ter¬rain. Let us pray today for the grace of new determination, with God’s help, to carry out our Lenten disciplines. St. Joseph Catholic Church is located at 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington TX.
4th Sunday of Lent by Fr Daniel Kelley pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. We rejoice this Laetare Sunday, at the halfway mark of our season of Lent. Not because we have less than three weeks of Lenten sacrifices remaining, but because our celebration today reminds us that God is always ready to forgive, always willing to be reconciled with us. How have our Lenten disciplines opened us up to the wonder of God’s rec¬onciling love? How are we willing to be likewise reconciled with our loved ones, our neighbors, and even those who have hurt us?
3rd Sunday of Lent Fr. Daniel Kelley homily. Now into the third week of the Season of Lent, our Sunday Gospel prepares us to hear Lent's call to conversion and repentance. Today's reading is found in the chapters of Luke's Gospel that describe Jesus' journey to Jerusalem. During this journey, Jesus teaches and heals. He must also respond to those who question and challenge his authority and actions. There is no parallel in Mark's or Matthew's Gospels for today's reading from Luke. While Mark and Matthew describe an incident in which Jesus curses the fig tree, today's reading makes the barren fig tree the subject of a parable. Fr. Daniel Kelley is the pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX
