At long last… Brian Kelly has been fired! After one of the most painful weekends in recent memory (thanks a lot, Texas A&M), there's finally light at the end of the LSU tunnel. Josh & Joe break down what's next for the Tigers—revealing two dream hires, two realistic options, and two coaches they absolutely DO NOT want (no matter what the national media says).Feeling confident after an impressive weekend of college football picks, the boys admit they're starting to get a little cocky. What could possibly go wrong? (Famous last words.)Meanwhile, in the NFL, the Saints continue to test fan loyalty—but in true JMO fashion, the boys somehow manage to find both positives and negatives to rant about. Elsewhere around the league, the Jets finally won (yeah, we said it), the Chargers got the job done, and the Vikings pulled a very Viking move… leading to a heartfelt RIP to Skattebo.0:00 intro/weekend update4:25 LSU recap/ coach talk34:15 College football recap43:00 College football picks48:20 NFL Recap1:07:45 NFL Picks1:12:10 NBA/MLB News

The guys begin the show discussing the World Series so far, MLB manager hirings and the Brian Kelly firing. They then shift to the NFL where they discuss the sad news of Nick Mangold's passing before recapping week 8 and then previewing week 9.
RJ Bell, Steve Fezzik and Mackenzie Rivers break down everything that happened for NFL Week 8. RJ Bell, Steve Fezzik, and Mackenzie Rivers recap NFL Week 8, beginning with RJ joking about bagels before diving into betting trends. They note that favorites dominated and spreads barely mattered, leaving teasers and parlays heavy on Kansas City exposure. Fezzik observes that this week's final scores were mostly fair reflections, without many misleading results. The trio then shift into a long discussion about gambling integrity, comparing insider sports info to stock-market crimes. RJ argues that injury and lineup leaks are like insider trading and should carry harsh penalties. They cite NBA and college cases—LeBron injury rumors, Billy Walters, trainers leaking info—and imagine coded Twitter “dead drops” for illicit tips. RJ stresses that while some data like “LeBron out” has modest betting value, when players underperform deliberately or fake participation it becomes true corruption. They call for severe lifetime bans for manipulating personal stats, while leaks should draw lighter suspensions. Prop-bet abuse and small limits follow; Fezzik suggests $200 caps to deter fixing. They praise monitoring systems such as U.S. Integrity that now flag irregular betting instantly, citing the caught Alabama baseball coach. RJ says AI and DraftKings-style tracking would have exposed Donaghy within weeks. After that, they pivot to NFL: criticizing Harbaugh and the Ravens' handling of Lamar Jackson's surprise absence, speculating that transparency rules need enforcement. They analyze that game, calling the 30-16 Ravens win a “phony final” where Baltimore overperformed. Next comes Tampa Bay's misleading 22-3 over New Orleans—“ten-three at best,” Fezzik says—before RJ celebrates a same-game-parlay win. They review the Jets-Bengals comeback, noting lucky two-point conversions and that modern analytics justify going for two down eight. They dissect Bills, Giants, Steelers, and Packers games, emphasizing how late-game yardage can distort stats. RJ calls Cincinnati's defense “donezo.” They highlight teams awful versus the run (Giants, Bengals, Ravens) and conclude Pittsburgh's defense is overrated. Green Bay's D, by contrast, grades top five by EPA. The pair debate coaching: RJ says O'Connell is top five but mysteriously poor in night games, while Fezzik defends him. They agree the Vikings' O-line injuries keep them fragile. Closing out, they praise Belichick's Patriots for exposing Cleveland's travel defense, mock Dallas's showboating after Denver's blowout, and observe that great offense vs. great defense matchups often yield one-sided results. The show ends with schedule notes for next week's taping and RJ joking about his underdog pick and podcast timing. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Nick Wright recaps Week 8 of the NFL season, starting with Monday Night Football between Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs dominating the Washington Commanders. Then, Nick breaks down the bizarre situation between Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, and what penalties they may be facing. After, Nick debates if Jalen Hurts. Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles are better without AJ Brown, and what the ceiling is for Jordan Love's Green Bay Packers and Bo Nix's Denver Broncos. Nick also reacts to the 18-inning thriller in Game 3 of the World Series where Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers took down the Toronto Blue Jays on Freddie Freeman's walk-off home run. Later, Nick and Damonza answer your questions. #VolumeSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Hosts Brad Fowler and Alex Higdon break down all the biggest storylines from Week 8 in the NFL and Week 9 in College Football. We cover — Brian Kelly fired at LSU, and the College Football coaching carousel heating up fast. Could Steve Sarkisian really jump to the NFL? Plus, Ole Miss looks playoff-bound, Vanderbilt stuns Missouri in another program-changing win, and Diego Pavia might just be New York–bound as a Heisman finalist. We also rank the open (and soon-to-open) jobs — Texas, Penn State, Florida, and LSU — and debate which program truly sits at the top of college football right now. In the NFL, Jordan Love and the Packers finally look like the team we’ve been waiting to see, Bo Nix and the Broncos keep rolling, and Jonathan Taylor has entered the MVP conversation after another monster game. We discuss whether the Colts are suddenly a legit Super Bowl contender, if Drake Maye is a top-10 QB, and how the Ravens may have just saved their season. What a statement Sunday in Week 8! We break it all down here on the Korner Booth Podcast! From the Broncos dismantling the Cowboys to the Jets FINALLY getting their first win of the season, this weekend had it all. Let's break down all the action from Sunday's slate! TOP STORYLINES **JETS WIN! AARON GLENN GETS HIS FIRST!** The New York Jets are finally in the win column! After starting 0-7, they came back from a 14-point deficit to beat the Bengals 39-33. Breece Hall had a monster day with a wild passing TD, and the Jets offense finally came alive for new head coach Aaron Glenn. Cincinnati's defense continues to be a disaster at 3-5. **BRONCOS EMBARRASS COWBOYS** Denver put on an absolute clinic, crushing Dallas 44-24 behind Bo Nix and a relentless ground game. RJ Harvey scored THREE touchdowns as the Broncos extended their win streak to five games. Dak Prescott threw two picks in an ugly performance, and Denver's defense made the Cowboys look silly. Sean Payton got his revenge on the team that courted him multiple times! **SAQUON'S REVENGE GAME** Saquon Barkley torched his former team, averaging 10.7 yards per carry as the Eagles dominated the Giants 38-20. Philadelphia rushed for 277 yards total in their best ground performance of the year before Barkley exited with a groin injury in the third quarter. The Giants' run defense remains a glaring weakness. **JONATHAN TAYLOR MVP CAMPAIGN CONTINUES** The Colts' star RB is putting together an incredible season, averaging nearly 17 yards per carry (!) against Tennessee as Indy rolled to victory. With Daniel Jones at QB, Taylor has been the focal point of Shane Steichen's offense and he's been money all year. ##

The duo kick things off with the Late Hit, as the Green Bay Packers shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.Next, Nate & Charles go through their 3 Highs, 3 Lows from the Sunday slate. On the bright side of today's results were the New York Jets finally tallying their first win in a barn burner against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Denver Broncos finally looking like a playoff team against the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans showing signs of life as they beat the San Francisco 49ers.For the lows, the two hosts discuss what happened to Andy Dalton as the Carolina Panthers couldn't hang against the resurgent Buffalo Bills, Myles Garrett getting 5 sacks in a Cleveland Browns blowout loss and the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears laying eggs. Nate also gives a shoutout to Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor for his amazing, OPOY-worthy season so far.(00:45) - Packers beat Steelers 35-25(18:00) - Jets beat Bengals 39-38(24:15) - Broncos beat Cowboys 44-24(28:40) - Texans beat 49ers 26-15(34:50) - Panthers get blown out 9-40(40:25) - Myles Garrett & Browns lose 13-32(47:10) - Falcons & Bears lay eggs(59:45) - Extra Credit: Jonathan Taylor's OPOY campaignSubscribe to Football 301 on your favorite podcast app:
