Welcome back listeners to another episode of World Forge! This week we're joined by Dante from the Are We Rolling Podcast! Together we design some interesting treasures, and the adventurers who seek them! But what qualities are most important in a treasure hunter? Or an interesting treasure for that matter? What happens when a treasure is a place, a person, or an idea? We also talk about what it's like to be on the other side of the fence, who are the brave crusaders who safeguard these treasures from falling into the hands of greedy adventurers? If you want to check out Dante's podcast you can find it on all major podcast platforms as the Are We Rolling Podcast, or on twitter @wespeakcommon! We had three fun rec room recommendations as well this week, all in the form of treasure themed games of various kinds! We are big big fans of Spelunky, a, Indiana Jones-esque rogue-like with randomly generated dungeons to traverse, Renowned Explorers: Adventure Society, a choose your own adventure game with light strategy elements, and Escape: The Curse of the Temple, a fast-paced board game that combines yahtzee with exploration and collaborative puzzle solving all on a 5 minute timer! As always, if you enjoyed this episode or want to share any feedback please consider reaching to us on on social media! We can be found on twitter @worldforgepod. We're also available via email at worldforgepod@gmail.com. We love to hear about all the ways you use and improve upon our ideas, and if you show us something really interesting we may just share it on air! And if you're feeling particularly generous, please consider leaving us a review on Apple Podcasts, or your podcasting app of choice! Leaving us a review is the best way to support this podcast for FREE, because it helps get our show in front of new listeners! We also want to thank James Duke for our amazing theme music, he can be found at jamesduke.info! Thanks again listeners, we'll be back again next week!

I’ve been preaching … about the decline of values in a godless society. If you don’t have God defining right and wrong, there is no right and wrong. We’re proving it in America every day.I’ve been reading … quotations from Mark Twain. All this time I’ve thought I was a big Mark Twain fan. All this time I was wrong.I’ve been hearing … Carli Lloyd is thinking about trying out for an NFL team. I say, good luck. But seeing is believing, and if Ms. Lloyd is really an NFL prospect, we’ll know soon enough. I’ve been playing … Escape: Curse of the Temple. I play games to alleviate stress. When I find a game that causes stress, I just say no.

It's over six months late, but we finally get around to wrapping up our Extra Life weekend long board gaming event that raised money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. We played twenty four hours of board games across three days and raised over two thousand dollars for charity (over $2000!). We're very proud of what we accomplished in our first year and are looking forward to more success as we continue this annual event in our community.Mostly, Jim spends this episode grasping for that word for the structured play mat that you play cards to in popular hobby games and stages an intervention for Adrienne's recent addiction.Thank you to all our Extra Life supporters. We have amazing and generous friends, fans, and family members. We wouldn't have been successful without all of your support. Some of the games we talk about this episode include:7 WondersAction Castle and the other Parsley games (they're like $5 a piece)Are you a werewolf? It's not a great plan, but it's our plan and we're sticking to it. Join as we plot to put a meeple in every pot- or at least on every table. We slipped the bonds of our robot masters, so the only opinions represented here are our own. We are however in league with Amazon, so a percentage of every purchase made through our links goes into our onshore accounts (thanks!). Some games have been provided by publishers for review while we picked up others for a buck or two at a thrift store or yard sale. Others are from our own collections or games we played with friends and strangers. You should be proud of yourself for reading all this small print- we are!
