Aujourd'hui comme dans le passé, le parfum peut avoir mille et un usages et ne sert pas seulement à sentir bon. Et c'est particulièrement le cas au 16e siècle, période pour laquelle Océane Fontaine Cioffi a justement étudié les parfums, leur fabrication, et leurs usages ! Océane, je l'ai reçue récemment en entretien, que vous pourrez écouter ici dans les prochains jours ! Durant l'émission, il y a un usage qui a particulièrement piqué ma curiosité au sujet de la peste, car dès la fin du Moyen Âge, les parfums étaient utilisés pour la combattre. Et comme le logo Nota Bene est un médecin de peste avec son masque et son nez pointu, vous voyez où je veux en venir… Bref, bonne écoute !

Unser heutiger Gast gehört zu den prägenden Führungspersönlichkeiten der deutschen Digital- und Handelswelt. Sie hat ihre Karriere im stationären Handel bei Peek & Cloppenburg begonnen und dort früh verstanden, wie wichtig Kundennähe, Sortiment und echtes Handelsverständnis sind. Danach führte ihr Weg in den E-Commerce. Über viele Jahre war sie bei eBay in unterschiedlichen Führungsrollen tätig, unter anderem in General Management, Business Development, Strategie und Category Management. Eine Zeit, in der sie gelernt hat, wie Plattformen funktionieren, wie digitale Märkte skalieren und was es bedeutet, Systeme zu bauen, die Millionen von Menschen erreichen. Später übernahm sie als CEO Verantwortung bei brands4friends und wechselte anschließend in die Payment- und Fintech-Welt. Als CEO von Ratepay führte sie ein Unternehmen durch Restrukturierung, technische Skalierung und Automatisierung und richtete es wieder auf Wachstum aus. Seit März 2025 ist sie Senior Vice President und CEO von parfumdreams und Niche Beauty innerhalb der Douglas Group. Damit verantwortet sie zwei Beauty-Welten, die auf den ersten Blick sehr unterschiedlich sind: parfumdreams als große Online-Parfümerie mit breitem Sortiment und attraktiven Preisen, und Niche Beauty als kuratierte Plattform für Premium- und Luxusmarken. parfumdreams hat seine Wurzeln in der Parfümerie Akzente, die 1995 gegründet wurde. Der Online-Shop startete 2004 und wurde zu einem der relevanten Player im deutschen Beauty-E-Commerce. Seit 2018 gehört das Unternehmen mehrheitlich zur Douglas Group. Heute geht es um weit mehr als den Verkauf von Parfum, Pflege und Make-up. Es geht um Technologie, Daten, Markenführung, Loyalität, Kundenerlebnisse und die Frage, wie sich Online- und Offline-Handel in einer Branche verändern, die gleichzeitig sehr emotional, sehr persönlich und sehr wettbewerbsintensiv ist. The result is a smooth, glowing fragrance that feels effortless and uplifting.'Then we made a beeline for the brand new M&S Studio Fragrance collection - and were both completely blown away! The quality is apparent the second you pick up the bottles: stylishly pared back they feel satisfyingly weighty with good quality lids, and even the labels are slightly recessed - a very luxe touch, all for £22.50 per 100ml eau de perfume. And the SCENTS! Oh my. So many great ones to choose from (shall we do a whole series?) but we chose…Suzy's favourites:M&S Studio Amber Crème‘This Amber Crème eau de parfum is a refined and evocative choice. Le parfum est partout : dans notre mémoire, dans la séduction, dans l'identité que l'on projette aux autres. Pourtant, son industrie reste largement méconnue, entourée de fantasmes, de storytelling… et parfois de grandes illusions. Pour en parler, j'ai reçu Francis Kurkdjian : parfumeur, directeur artistique de sa propre maison mais aussi directeur de la création des parfums Dior. Il est l'un des créateurs de parfum les plus influents au monde. À 25 ans, il crée Le Mâle de Jean Paul Gaultier, l'un des plus grands succès de l'histoire de la parfumerie. Un triomphe qu'il raconte avoir… très mal géré. Avec beaucoup de lucidité, il revient sur cette peur de devenir “l'homme d'un seul parfum”, sur la réalité parfois peu glamour de l'industrie, où les matières synthétiques dominent largement malgré les imaginaires de champs de fleurs entretenus par les marques, et sur son choix audacieux : créer sa propre maison alors qu'aucun parfumeur, à l'époque, ne signait véritablement en son nom.
