Today I released a new podcast which is a conversation with Amy Hughes who is a senior executive on the Experian Automotive team. We discuss new data that automotive dealers can access to give them unprecedented insights in local shopper behavior before and now during COVID. Experian has published a Consumer Sentiment Dashboard which shows buying patterns for a number of industries including automotive. The dashboard are updated daily and I suggest that you start by looking at the different segmentations they offer including generations, urbanization, and media. While these dashboard views show larger trends in the marketplace, the good news that I can share today is that Experian is offering dealers a customized market data analysis of the zip codes that surround your dealership. The metric is referred to as HVU which stands for High Value User. A website visitor on a dealership website that meets specific behavioral criteria over a period of time demonstrates a 14% purchase transaction rate, nearly double that of a BDC.
