She was also an American Idol in 2009, but was eliminated in the early rounds. She is a featured artist for Postmodern Jukebox and the Dave Koz band. Recognized on the global stage as a performer who can deliver in the most informal of settings as well as full festival audiences, her work is praised as being accessible, fresh and dynamic. She has worked with some incredible collaborators including Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Josh Groban, Smokey Robinson, Patrice Rushen and Pharrell Williams.

The First Place Award Goes To Whole Food Plant Based Diets For Lowering Blood Cholesterol - Joel Kahn, MD - Interview Joel K. Kahn M.D. • https://drjoelkahn.com/• Book - The Plant-Based Solution: America's Healthy Heart Doc's Plan to Power Your Health At his core, Dr. Joel Kahn believes that plant-based nutrition is the most powerful source of preventative medicine on the planet. Having practiced traditional cardiology since 1983, it was only after his own commitment to a plant based vegan diet that he truly began to delve into the realm of non-traditional diagnostic tools, prevention tactics and nutrition-based recovery protocols. These ideologies led him to change his approach and focus on being a holistic cardiologist. He passionately lectures throughout the country about the health benefits of a plant-based anti-aging diet inspiring a new generation of thought leaders to think scientifically and critically about the body's ability to heal itself through proper nutrition. One of the world's top cardiologists, Dr. Joel Kahn has treated thousands of acute heart attacks during his career. He'd like all that to stop. He'd like to prevent ALL future heart attacks by breaking through to the public to educate and inspire a new holistic lifestyle. Now is the time to focus on educating the public to eat clean, sweat clean and apply cutting edge science to their lifestyle. #JoelKahn #TheRealTruthAboutHealth  #WholeFood #Vegan #Vegetarian #PlantBasedNutrition CLICK HERE - To Checkout Our MEMBERSHIP CLUB: http://www.realtruthtalks.com  • Social Media ChannelsFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TRTAHConferenceInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/therealtruthabouthealth/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/RTAHealth Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-real-truth-about-health-conference/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheRealTruthAboutHealth    • Check out our Podcasts  Visit us on Apple Podcast and Itunes search:  The Real Truth About Health Free 17 Day Live Online Conference Podcast Amazon: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/23a037be-99dd-4099-b9e0-1cad50774b5a/real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcastSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0RZbS2BafJIEzHYyThm83J Google:https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5zaW1wbGVjYXN0LmNvbS8yM0ZqRWNTMg%3D%3DStitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcastAudacy: https://go.audacy.com/partner-podcast-listen-real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcastiHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-real-truth-about-health-li-85932821/ Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/us/show/2867272 Reason: https://reason.fm/podcast/real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcast • Other Video ChannelsYoutube:https://www.youtube.com/c/TheRealTruthAboutHealthVimeo:https://vimeo.com/channels/1733189Rumble:  https://rumble.com/c/c-1111513 Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TRTAHConference/videos/?ref=page_internal DailyMotion: https://www.dailymotion.com/TheRealTruthAboutHealth BitChute:https://www.bitchute.com/channel/JQryXTPDOMih/ Disclaimer:Medical and Health information changes constantly. See all the Healthcast at https://www.biobalancehealth.com/healthcast-blog/ Got Testosterone? The recent book written by Dr. Kathy Maupin and Brett Newcomb, MA LPC, just garnered the prestigious First Place Award for Men's Health by the Independent Press.  Got Testosterone? Explains how all-natural, bioidentical testosterone replacement therapy with long acting subcutaneous pellets can reverse the clock and help lessen the symptoms of age-related diseases such as, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, osteoporosis, obesity, high cholesterol among other health issues that occur with aging. Conducted annually, the IPPY awards honor the year's best independently published titles from around the world. According to IPPY officials, the award “rewards those who exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity to bring about change in the world of publishing.” Brett and I are so thankful to our writing mentor, Nancy Erickson (the Book Professor) for submitting our book for consideration for this award. We were so surprised when our book won first place for this coveted publishing award. We want to encourage all men to read Got Testosterone? so they can become healthy, virile and satisfied with their health and their lives no matter how old they are. I believe if healthcare would accept the fact that the majority of men NEED testosterone replacement after age 50, and that those men who receive Testosterone pellets will avoid the diseases of aging (Cardio-vascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, cancer autoimmune diseases, diseases of poor immunity that cause more frequent infections). Why does medicine in the US and Europe concentrate on “fixing” one symptom or disease at a time, and not attend to treating a patient globally by preventing disease,  and treating the whole patient? How medical information is taught and transmitted to patients: You learn about your condition and the treatment from your doctor, you doctor is guided by guidelines from his specialty's governing group who certifies specialty physicians like ACOG who certifies OBGYNs , then doctors in that specialty learn new information from drug companies, conferences and journals from his or her specialty organization. When new research is done in multiple specialties and by many drug companies and research organizations, who puts it together across specialty lines? No one! There is no one to develop protocols, or new treatment plans that involve many specialty groups. That is what Brett and I accomplished with this book: we combined research from more than 5 specialties of medicine, as well as American and European medical research and translated it into easy to understand tables and graphs as well as bulleted points that are meant to make important information memorable to our readers. In the medical world it is difficult to get practical truthful information about new medical treatments that is understandable to lay people. We  have translated complicated medical research and practical information about how vital testosterone is to men into entertaining and realistic advice. It is important for lay people to know the truth about who needs testosterone replacement, the most effective and safest way to take it, along with the risks and benefits of T replacement. We have found that bio-identical testosterone pellets are the best form of testosterone for men and women. Our book, Got Testosterone? Men-Return to the Sexier, Stronger, Smarter You! is easy to find on-line in the Amazon bookstore, and it is available at Dr. Maupin's office as well. Do yourself and the man in your life a favor and read it! Please watch for the audio version of our book coming out soon.

First off, I'm kicking off this Epi100 show blog by revealing the all new Succotash logo for Season 2! Designed by Page Branson, co-host of the Level 7 Access podcast, this spiffy new look will soon be available in the Succotashery on shirts n' stuff. Okay. So, my ORIGINAL plan was to do the first live Succotash show for Epi100 but the occasion was dovetailing with my wife and I making a move to a new place AND me making a move to a new job. I was also afraid that the thing would turn out to be not quite so tremendous an extravaganza as I was picturing in my mind. Instead, I planned a trip back to Studio P to visit with our Engineer/Producer Joe Paulino. We have a nice discussion in studio about where the show has been and where it's going, as well as a mini-state of the podcast form as it exists today. As we also discuss, Succotash has gone beyond having to rely on Joe to cobble together our nonsense but he is still my rock and my inspiration. Plus he puts together great stuff for our show all the time. Coming up in this Epi100, our final show of Succotash, The Comedy Podcast Podcast, Season 1, we FINALLY have a new Boozin’ with Bill segment, wherein our booth announcer Bill Heywatt teaches me (and you) how to whip up a special concoction in honor of our centennial ‘sode of Succotash. Embarrassingly, it called “Up The Hershon Highway”. I include the formula here. Our sponsor Henderson’s Pants has created a new pantaloon specifically in honor of our 100th episode. We also have a double dose of political comedian Will Durst with our Burst O’ Durst. (If you're in or near the San Francisco Bay Area this holiday season, be sure to catch Durst and his cadre of comics who are appearing in the Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show XXII December 26 - January 3, 2015. Cast of the Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show Oh, and we dip into the Tweetsack this episode as well. We got a pile of congratulatory messages – thanks so much to those of you who took time out to send those along, either called into the Succotash Hotline or sent in to us. We play those throughout the show, including a really nice message from our own Associate Producer Tyson Saner, whose become a vital component to make this show happen. (Special thanks to Dana Carvey, who supplied the messages from Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Paul McCartney, and Michael Caine!) We’ve got some clips, as per usual - none of which have anything to do with our 100th episode milestone. CLIPS Chillpak Hollywood HourOur friends in podcasting – Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness – of the Chillpak Hollywood Hour, have been doing a series of pre-recorded shows and, as usual when that happens, there are not a lot of Succotash mentions for us to replay. This week, they sent along a very special Happy 100 episode message! (By the way, their show last week with guest Suli McCullough last week was dynamite! It touched on race and racism, both in and out of the Hollywood business, as well as growing up in Silicon Valley, and was also hilarious at times.) Screams & MoansFriend-of-Succotash Megan M recently made her first year as a podcaster with Epi26 of her own Screams & Moans podcast. Also known as @PodcastWhore on Twitter, she's been a big supporter of Succotash. And we’re glad to see her interest in the medium has turned into an avocation. Congrats, Megan! We feature a clip of her awarding the First Place Award to her Most Drunken Listener. Urban Mamas PodcastOur Associate Producer Tyson found us this clip from the Urban Mamas podcast out of Portland, Oregon, where Ray Ann Peil and Kelli Martinelli say – via their website – that they are "out to change the world one swear jar at a time." Crammed into this clip are such topics as adoption, the aforementioned swear jars, and negotiating Halloween candy. Joining them as a guest is anotha mutha, Sabrina Williamson. Wheelbarrow Full Of DicksWe got a 100th episode congrats message in the Tweetsack from Mike Moore and the gang – Nappier, Travis, and Drunk – over at Wheelbarrow Full of Dicks. It reads: “First off, congratulations on the milestone over there. 100 episodes is an impressive number.  We appreciate all that you do." And they included a clip from a new segment on their show called "Romance Is Dead."  It's basically a sit-com featuring a suburban dad in a post-apocalyptic world whose family who were all bitten and turned to zombies. Taco TuesdayThanks to Podcast Dan and Adam Wolf for their congratulations message. They also included a taste of their Taco Tuesday podcast. These guys do a real combo platter of stuff: tech, music, and comedy. And it’s the only podcast I know of – so far – booming out of Killeen, Texas. In this clip from their Epi16 – it goes back a bit to Thanksgiving time – they’re talking whether to brine a turkey or not, and whether deviled eggs are better with Miracle Whip or mayo. The Higher Learning ChannelSometimes the best way to lure in new listeners, as well as to make your show stand out from the crowd, is to give your podcast a high-falutin’ name. Seems to work for The Higher Learning Channel, out of New York City and hosted by Ginzilla and Matthew Sire. It’s just a cover for another pop culture-based podcast, one which features – according to their homesite – “Weirdos. Creatives. Podcasters.” In this clip from Epi14, their guest is comic book creator Pat Reilly and they get into the art of drawing dicks. Yeah, dicks. But classy, comic book dicks. That’s it! The end of Succotash, Season One! 100 episodes, presented in order and in their entirety. (Plus a handful of mini "halfisodes"…) If you missed any, you should be able to dredge them up at our homesite, http://SuccotashShow.com. Starting with Episode 101, we switch to our new split format, where shows will either be Succotash Clips or Succotash Chats. And with any luck at all, we’ll start getting them out on a regular basis. Thanks so much for being part of our first season. Hope you’ll stick around to see where we go next with the show. And please remember to pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

Simon Spear's award-winning celebration of our water planet home that we share with marine life great and small. This beautiful short film has won awards and accolades in film festivals all over the world. Among the achievements is the First Place Award in the Conservation Video category for the Our World Underwater/Wetpixel/DivePhotoGuide Competition. Simon discusses his film on his website www.viewfromtheblue.me.uk: "70% of our planet's surface is covered by water, and yet we call our planet Earth. Seems strange eh? For centuries we have believed that our oceans were an endless resource and we have harvested their bounty to their maximum potential. However over the last decade in particular we have begun to realize that this is not the case and that our oceans are just as fragile and prone to destruction as any other habitat. "Commercial fish stocks the world over are on the brink of collapse and at current rates will disappear by 2050 at the latest. Shark populations have been decimated as we continue to kill up to 100 million sharks a year. As a result many species are in imminent danger of extinction. Today we have only 5% remaining of our coral reefs that once carpeted most of our tropical seas. By 2050 it is believed that we will loose a further 95% of what little remains. We are in danger of turning our most incredible of natural wonders into a barren desert completely devoid of life. "With all these words of doom it perhaps seems strange then that this film attempts to celebrate our water planet by sharing some of the wonders that I have seen during the past 12 months or so. I truly hope that I can convey at least a small part of the wonder and amazement that I often feel while under the surface of our water planet. I have very little hope that it will be possible to save our oceans in their current state, but we must try with all our resolve, because if we loose this amazing resource, we may find that our species may also be on a very short path to extinction."
