Gabby Petito's parents have longed believed that Chris and Roberta Laundrie knew Gabby was dead long before her body was found. In trying to prove it, mother Nichole Schmidt, and father, Joe Petito, have sued the Laundries and their attorney Steve Bertolino for intentional infliction of emotional distress.  They claiming the trio were aware that Gabby Petito was dead but chose to do nothing.   In depositions for the upcoming civil trial, we learn two days after Brian Laundrie is believed to have killed Gabby Petito, he makes a frantic call to his parents. In the August 29, call,  Laundrie tells his parents that Gabby is "gone" and he needs a lawyer. According to Petitio family attorney Pat Reilly, Chris and Roberta Laundrie did not admit to knowing Gabby was killed, only that they were told by Brian that she was "gone".  A retainer was sent to attorney Steve Bertolino six days later. Reilly, however, believes the family was told more than they are now admitting. Reilly has filed a motion to force Bertolino into revealing what Brian Laundrie told him.    Joining Nancy Grace Today: Patrick Reilly -  Attorney for Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, Snyder and Reilly Trial Lawyers, Snyderandreilly.com  Caryn L. In a surprising turn of events in the ongoing civil trial between the families of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie, it has been revealed that Brian Laundrie's parents admitted to receiving a frantic phone call from him on August 29, 2021, just two days after the day Gabby Petito was believed to have been murdered. During the call, Brian informed his parents that Gabby was "gone" and needed a lawyer, according to attorney Pat Reilly, representing Gabby Petito's family.    This revelation emerged during depositions conducted for the upcoming civil trial, shedding new light on the events surrounding Gabby Petito's tragic death in August 2021.    While Chris and Roberta Laundrie confirmed that Brian told them Gabby was "gone" in the phone call, they did not admit to knowing that she had been killed, emphasizing only that Brian had used the term "gone."    In response to this development, attorney Pat Reilly stated, "I want to know what [Brian] told Bertolino. He probably admitted more. And did [Bertolino] know where Gabby's body was located?" Reilly has filed a motion to compel Steven Bertolino, the Laundries' longtime lawyer, to reveal any additional information he may have received from Brian during the aftermath of Gabby's disappearance. A hearing on this motion, as well as the question of whether Brian's attorney-client privilege should be upheld, is scheduled for December 20 in Sarasota County Circuit Court.    Ryan Gilbert, the attorney representing the Laundries in the Petito civil suit, has not responded to the requests for comment regarding this revelation. Similarly, Steven Bertolino has declined to make any statements on the matter.    The Petito family's allegations in the civil suit are based on the belief that, following Gabby's murder, Brian Laundrie used Gabby's phone to send text messages to her family in an attempt to deceive them. Among these messages, one text was sent to Gabby's mother, Nichole Schmidt, referring to Gabby's grandfather as "Stan." Schmidt has maintained that Gabby never referred to her grandfather by his first name, considering the text highly suspicious.    Nichole Schmidt and Joe Petito, Gabby's father, have brought a lawsuit against the Laundries and Bertolino, accusing them of intentional infliction of emotional distress. The Petito family alleges that the Laundries were aware that Gabby was deceased but chose not to take any actions apart from releasing a statement expressing hope for Gabby's safe return.    The trial for the Petito civil suit, which has experienced several postponements, is currently scheduled for May 2024. This new revelation regarding Brian Laundrie's phone call to his parents has added another layer of complexity to the legal proceedings, potentially bringing forth previously undisclosed information in the highly publicized case. This one has a list of unusual deaths, a brawl-for-all at a Pennsylvania Golden Corral, and a Canadian militia member seeking his dream woman on Craigslist. We also start off Episode #316 with a phone call from the one and only "Stone Cold Steve Austin" (co-host emeritus Dr. Pat Reilly) talking about his new podcaster lifestyle in a VERY trendy Los Angeles neighborhood.  "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers is our JAM OF THE WEEK! Hey y'all! This week on the Patreon, Rivers is joined once again by our brilliant co-host emeritus Dr. Pat Reilly for a discussion of 1993's "Wrestlemania IX"; an event that gets right to the very core of Vincent Kennedy McMahon's dark id. Undertaker gets chloroformed. There are two Doinks. Macho Man is awesome despite being sidelined on commentary. This event was weird as all hell but, ultimately, fun to watch and REALLY fun to talk about. This episode was a request by our friend Carl in Liverpool, England. Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast

Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner. Welcome to Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast, Episode 267, I will be your host thru a small selection of soundcast clips for which to theoretically make you interested in hearing the full episode…or at least give you an idea of what to expect on whichever soundcast we happen to clip…that's the basic idea. Last week on Epi266 my co-host and every-other-show-host Marc Hershon brought his "A" game with a show full of "B"s. Not the buzzy things that pollinate flowers and make honey and such but many things that start with the letter "B" — including the return of one of my favorite segments "Boozin' with Bill" with our very own Bill Heywatt, and clips from the soundcasts Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast, The Bitch Bible, Breaking Bread with Tom Papa, and Brittlestar's Really Great Podcast.…There's even a small chat with friend of Succotash and longtime soundcaster Chris Mancini…who does not seem to have a single "B" in his name…but other than that little inconsistency, the episode and all of the content contained within it is top-notch. Check it out if you should be interested in doing so. This week, I've got clips from the soundcasts Screams and Moans, The Goods From The Woods, and Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster. There's also a classic Henderson's Pants advert for their patented Pain Pants kicking around somewhere in the rotation so y'all have got that to look forward to as well. (Real sponsors take note, we are in the market for one or more of you…as we have been for 10+ years.) Anyway, thank you for listening… CLIPS Screams and MoansThe podcast about movies and sex but not together because that would be porn. Our clips is from February of this year (2021) - the episode entitled "Second Time is Better". Friends of Succotash abound here, in cluding host Megan Pentecost and her guest, Jason "Jabs" McNamara from The Dhead Factor and Boganwood soundcasts. Our clip is them getting into the movie The Event Horizon. The Goods from the Woods Hosts Rivers Langley, Pat Reilly, and Mr. Goodnight head off on their intrepid aural expedition through the world of oft-forgotten pop culture, featuring personal tales and recollections on the theme from the hosts and their special weekly guests. Reportedly, The Goods from the Woods will leave you enlightened and enraptured. Also, you will laugh. In this clip from long-ago 2013, the boys welcome yet another friend of Succotash Travis Clark (now a soundcast producer but then co-host of Tiny Odd Conversations with his wife Brandi Clark. Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster Comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster invite special guests into their magical restaurant to each choose their favourite starter, main course, side dish, dessert and drink. In this special edition we clipped, from just this past June,  the special of the day is Dan Aykroyd of SNL, Blues Brothers, and Ghostbusters fame. He dropped into promote his Crystal Head vodka. And there's what's in store. I do hope you find something enjoyable during the time you spend listening to it. I try to find find things that are both entertaining and informative for you…or at least one of those things when possible. It's all as subjective as comedy but I still try. Next week for Epi268, Marc Hershon will have something for you, and, presumably, I will have something for you in two weeks. Until then, if you are looking for more content to listen to, you can check out the show archive at www.succotashshow.com, you can check out Anti Social Show, a soundcast I host with Hunter Block on Soundcloud and at www.tysonsaner.com…and if you like gaming content there's plenty of that on my YouTube channel which is under my name - Tyson Saner - as well as being conveniently linked at my website along with a few other things. I am also available to guest on your soundcast so contact me if you are desperate for either content or human contact. Until show #269, be decent to each other, mask up to protect the unvaccinated, and if anyone asks if you've heard anything interesting lately won't you Please…Pass The Succotash? — Tyson Saner

Mark Pannes is a highly accomplished US sports executive with an incredible career across the US and Europe, from his early days at the New York Knicks, to leading a large European Football Club (AS Roma) on behalf of a US Owner and learning the inside workings of one of the largest Banks in the world (HSBC Private Bank).  Mark has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and his views are well heard (through his own Podcast/Clubhouse talks) and respected in the industry. With the European Super League “fiasco” just over when we spoke, we off course took a good stab at the topic as well.  As always, lots of learning and great insights throughout the discussion. Enjoy.     Key Highlights How it all started, a High School dream to have a career in professional sports, leads to studying sports at UT in Austin and a summer internship with the New York Knicks First job on the operational side at Madison Square Garden (MSG), 19 different trade groups (Unions) working in the building, etc 10 years with the Knicks -  Patrick Ewing and Pat Reilly days – MSG a vertically integrated company, the venue owns the teams and broadcast network – sales force is media let - Knicks the bait to sell other content at the venue (bundling) Starting to sell Knicks as a stand alone property, non-media related – drove US$ 4 mil of new revenue (total team revenue over US$ 120 mil at the time) Brand driven vs sales driven approach,  digital and CRM starting to kick off Ground breaking deal with American Express, co-branded card for the first time First Entrepreneurial experience – Skilo Brand agency – range of clients and projects   First overseas sting, overseeing acquisition and then managing a Parisian Basketball Club (Tony Parker, French NBA player was part of the investor group) After cleaning up the club in phase 1, spending most of the time on ways to finance the “underfunded” Club and connected with HSBC Next stop HSBC Private Bank, London, banking athletes and IP owners, borrowing against assets IP owners and athletes, asset & wealth management, borrow against revenue.  COI (contractually obligated income) as security Insider look during the global Financial Crisis (2008-09) – HSBC's approach Next Raptor Accelerator, Jim Pallotta, US billionaire Family office – invested in AS Roma – new role as CEO of the club The numbers in the AS Roma deal – total US$ 160 million investment (according to reports) Learnings from his AS Roma days, running a Listed company, every club is a “selling club” – ability to sell players is important New Stadium plans, great project, big plans, the process to get it started (unfortunately till today it hasn't come to fruition) (Roman politics or what happened?) European Super League (ESL) discussion – 48 hours of madness – his view as an American Sports Executive with European Football experience Mismatch and disconnect between team owners, there was no “executive team” in place to represent the group (it appeared), no apparent media partners, rushed announcements, etc BCG , JP Morgan and many of the big Clubs got their fingers burned it appears in hindsight – surprisingly many rookie mistakes across the groups    The underlying challenges between the big clubs and the “others” haven't gone away – the issue will come again at some point in the future – even the big clubs have little leverage with UEFA, so they need to come up with these threats to push their agenda Union Sports – private consulting companies, advising on media and other long-term revenue streams Vancouver Whitecaps FC , turn around, clean up – just when the pandemic hit six months into it Inner Market Media – consulting and content creation for sports IP owners – focus on transatlantic view – “OTT Sports Speakeasy” (weekly on Clubhouse, Thu, 5pm UK time) and OTT Sports Podcast together with partner Michael Broughton Last thoughts on the growth opportunities in sports in current climate – expansion period for sports – new money coming in with lots of changes along the way in the process   About Mark Pannes Mark is the Managing Partner of Inner Market Media. Pat Reilly is a joy! He was a joy to interview, his music gives me goose bumps, and he has this amazing voice that makes me feel like I want this episode to last forever!"Music is the fire that burns within my soul" - Pat ReillyFrom his web site we can read the following about Pat:"Pat Reilly AKA "Pat the Panther" is an international touring guitarist, session guitarist, and songwriter. Born and raised in Queens New York, Pat started playing guitar at the age of 16, drawing influence from renowned guitarists such as Mary Friedman (ex Megadeth), Dimebag Darrell (Pantera), and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) to name a few.  Although Pat's musical passions lie in the metal genre, his songwriting is quite diverse, ranging from classically composed intros to full-fledged groove-based metal compositions.  Many listeners may consider Pat a "Shredder" but he frowns upon the term as he prides himself on the emotional element of songwriting and guitar playing, not so much on being purposely technical.  Pat's songwriting philosophy is "Write for the song not for the ego" On the touring side of music, Pat's experience is fairly extensive.  He has toured with bands such as Tengger Cavalry, Through the Discipline, Vajra, and Awaken, playing several hundred shows throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe most notably performing at New York City's prestigious Carnegie Hall.  As a solo artist, Pat has released 5 instrumental tracks since 2017 and put out his first full-length album titled Path to Transcendence on January 3rd of 2020. Pat's guitar solo work can be heard throughout Tengger Cavalry's Northern Memory, Vol. 1 album, as well as on Through the Discipline's 5 Ronin EP, Rival Order's Save Me and Fellahin Fall's Of Fallen Words. (Monika Scott and Luke Jensen) podcasts to have a good old fashioned and rambly Thanksgiving dinner in Dr. Pat's freezing backyard. Natalie, the vegetarian, accidentally eats sausage stuffing, Kyle clings to the mic like a life raft, Burnside discusses Midwestern traditions and Laura talks about growing up on a mesa. You can listen to Part 1 here http://goo.gl/lkQ1Ao over at "Goods from the Woods" and hear the full episode tomorrow on "What Did We Learn?" in this totally not-confusing crossover special.

Welcome to "This Is Rad!", brother! This week Kyle and Matthew tackle their most requested episode topic since Dungeons & Dragons: Wrestling. And who better to do this topic justice than the fine fellows from the Goods from the Woods podcast: Rivers Langley, Pat Reilly and Mr. Goodnight. In this "Rad from the Woods" crossover, the boys present an in-depth historical overview of Wrestling in all its glory. Rivers teaches us carny speak and wrestling terms, Goodnight talks about the Memphis scene, Pat professes his views on '90s creative stagnation, and Kyle gets a dollar stapled to his tit. First off, I'm kicking off this Epi100 show blog by revealing the all new Succotash logo for Season 2! Designed by Page Branson, co-host of the Level 7 Access podcast, this spiffy new look will soon be available in the Succotashery on shirts n' stuff. Okay. So, my ORIGINAL plan was to do the first live Succotash show for Epi100 but the occasion was dovetailing with my wife and I making a move to a new place AND me making a move to a new job. I was also afraid that the thing would turn out to be not quite so tremendous an extravaganza as I was picturing in my mind. Instead, I planned a trip back to Studio P to visit with our Engineer/Producer Joe Paulino. We have a nice discussion in studio about where the show has been and where it's going, as well as a mini-state of the podcast form as it exists today. As we also discuss, Succotash has gone beyond having to rely on Joe to cobble together our nonsense but he is still my rock and my inspiration. Plus he puts together great stuff for our show all the time. Coming up in this Epi100, our final show of Succotash, The Comedy Podcast Podcast, Season 1, we FINALLY have a new Boozin’ with Bill segment, wherein our booth announcer Bill Heywatt teaches me (and you) how to whip up a special concoction in honor of our centennial ‘sode of Succotash. Embarrassingly, it called “Up The Hershon Highway”. I include the formula here. Our sponsor Henderson’s Pants has created a new pantaloon specifically in honor of our 100th episode. We also have a double dose of political comedian Will Durst with our Burst O’ Durst. (If you're in or near the San Francisco Bay Area this holiday season, be sure to catch Durst and his cadre of comics who are appearing in the Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show XXII December 26 - January 3, 2015. Cast of the Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show Oh, and we dip into the Tweetsack this episode as well. We got a pile of congratulatory messages – thanks so much to those of you who took time out to send those along, either called into the Succotash Hotline or sent in to us. We play those throughout the show, including a really nice message from our own Associate Producer Tyson Saner, whose become a vital component to make this show happen. (Special thanks to Dana Carvey, who supplied the messages from Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Paul McCartney, and Michael Caine!) We’ve got some clips, as per usual - none of which have anything to do with our 100th episode milestone. CLIPS Chillpak Hollywood HourOur friends in podcasting – Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness – of the Chillpak Hollywood Hour, have been doing a series of pre-recorded shows and, as usual when that happens, there are not a lot of Succotash mentions for us to replay. This week, they sent along a very special Happy 100 episode message! (By the way, their show last week with guest Suli McCullough last week was dynamite! It touched on race and racism, both in and out of the Hollywood business, as well as growing up in Silicon Valley, and was also hilarious at times.) Screams & MoansFriend-of-Succotash Megan M recently made her first year as a podcaster with Epi26 of her own Screams & Moans podcast. Also known as @PodcastWhore on Twitter, she's been a big supporter of Succotash. And we’re glad to see her interest in the medium has turned into an avocation. Congrats, Megan! We feature a clip of her awarding the First Place Award to her Most Drunken Listener. Urban Mamas PodcastOur Associate Producer Tyson found us this clip from the Urban Mamas podcast out of Portland, Oregon, where Ray Ann Peil and Kelli Martinelli say – via their website – that they are "out to change the world one swear jar at a time." Crammed into this clip are such topics as adoption, the aforementioned swear jars, and negotiating Halloween candy. Joining them as a guest is anotha mutha, Sabrina Williamson. Wheelbarrow Full Of DicksWe got a 100th episode congrats message in the Tweetsack from Mike Moore and the gang – Nappier, Travis, and Drunk – over at Wheelbarrow Full of Dicks. It reads: “First off, congratulations on the milestone over there. 100 episodes is an impressive number.  We appreciate all that you do." And they included a clip from a new segment on their show called "Romance Is Dead."  It's basically a sit-com featuring a suburban dad in a post-apocalyptic world whose family who were all bitten and turned to zombies. Taco TuesdayThanks to Podcast Dan and Adam Wolf for their congratulations message. They also included a taste of their Taco Tuesday podcast. These guys do a real combo platter of stuff: tech, music, and comedy. And it’s the only podcast I know of – so far – booming out of Killeen, Texas. In this clip from their Epi16 – it goes back a bit to Thanksgiving time – they’re talking whether to brine a turkey or not, and whether deviled eggs are better with Miracle Whip or mayo. The Higher Learning ChannelSometimes the best way to lure in new listeners, as well as to make your show stand out from the crowd, is to give your podcast a high-falutin’ name. Seems to work for The Higher Learning Channel, out of New York City and hosted by Ginzilla and Matthew Sire. It’s just a cover for another pop culture-based podcast, one which features – according to their homesite – “Weirdos. Creatives. Podcasters.” In this clip from Epi14, their guest is comic book creator Pat Reilly and they get into the art of drawing dicks. Yeah, dicks. But classy, comic book dicks. That’s it! The end of Succotash, Season One! 100 episodes, presented in order and in their entirety. (Plus a handful of mini "halfisodes"…) If you missed any, you should be able to dredge them up at our homesite, http://SuccotashShow.com. Starting with Episode 101, we switch to our new split format, where shows will either be Succotash Clips or Succotash Chats. And with any luck at all, we’ll start getting them out on a regular basis. Thanks so much for being part of our first season. Hope you’ll stick around to see where we go next with the show. And please remember to pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

Resilient Network Systems is one of five companies that were awarded a grant to pilot part of the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace. Pat Reilly, executive vice president of business development at Resilient, spoke with Regarding ID's Gina Jordan about the award and what the company will be piloting with the award. Resilient will be doing two projects, one around health care and another around child safety online. "How do I make it so that doctors, insurers and physicians know how to find the information about me from other doctors and labs, etc.," Reilly asks. "How does that whole chain of sharing happen across the health care field?" "And then the second pain that we looked at was basically child safety, online safety. So how do you make sure that the identities of children aren't being misused, that people that purport themselves to be a child indeed are or are not a child and so taking all of that kind of nastiness out of the Internet," Reilly says.
