Hello citizens of the Audioverse, my name is Lilith, I am the producer slash dungeon mistress of the chaotic and heavy metal tabletop roleplaying podcast Ghostpuncher Corps. GPC follows the misadventures of three heroes tasked by Lucifer herself to hunt down and recover wayward undead souls causing problems in the land of the living. This is episode 32, the second episode of our GRIDBREAKER arc which follows the team as they step inside an immersive video game world to hunt down a soul who seemingly lurks inside the game. For this episode and the rest of the Gridbreaker arc we are using The Sprawl roleplaying system which relies on a simple success, mixed success and failure system to resolve any potentially dicey situation. Each player will be playing their character from the rest of the podcast (the quote-unquote real world) playing another character in this Gridbreaker video game. It's a little high concept, but I promise it's not too hard to follow. Thanks so much for listening. https://ghostpuncher.net/corps
Mooncore. A city liberated from it's oppressors, filled with those who survived their rule, and those who were changed under it. Their human weapons remain behind, and try their best to be human. We are those weapons. Welcome to Ascendency, as we're joined by it's designer Ruby, special guest Lillith from Ghostpuncher: Corps, and Evan G to tell the story of those with powers in a world that hates and fears them.
The gang finally enter the world of Gridbreaker to pursue a lead regarding deaths inside the video game. The Ghostpuncher Corps are back and they've been tasked by Lucifer to trek down to southern California to meet with Brad Price, the project lead of G.R.I.D.br34k3r, a massively multiplayer video game that seems to be responsible for a number of deaths. Petua is none too excited to play one of these "video games", Mikey doesn't even know what a video game is and Elektra seems to have a vested, personal interest in this investigation. Petua, Elektra and Mikey walk right into the lair of the beast, joining the bizarre amalgamation of Walsh Tarleton and the demon prince Astaroth. You remember Walsh, right? He does the announcements at First Mapleville and he really liked the pecan sandies at the Halloween party last year. Now he finds himself possessed by the spirit of Astaroth, vengeful after a shameful defeat at the mechanical hand of Ghostpuncher. Now he's back for round 2 against Lucifer's minions. Astaroth has made it clear he's not walking away. This week's Ghostpuncher Corps is a fight to the death. Listen at your own peril. ANNOUNCING: The What Does C.O.R.P.S. Stand For? The gang have closed in on Astaroth. The First Mapleville Church of Christ seems to be where it's all going down the night of the Midnight Bike Ride. Petua, Mikey, and Elektra are gathered outside the church and after sending a scout in ahead to gather intel, it would seem things are exactly as bad as they had feared.
