Send us a textAs the metalcore world continues to thrive on its past and push forward into new territory, few bands walk that line more masterfully than August Burns Red. The Grammy-nominated heavyweights recently made a powerful appearance on The Barn's very own Vulgar Display of Podcast, where drummer Matt Greiner joined the conversation to dive into the band's legacy, relentless touring schedule, and their latest massive undertaking — a full re-recording of their iconic debut Thrill Seeker. And as fate would have it, the timing couldn't be better. ABR is set to join Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine on The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour 2025, which hits The Factory STL in St. Louis on Saturday, April 19. The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of both Ascendancy and The Poison, with each band performing their breakout records in full. With Bleed From Within also on the bill, it's a stacked night of explosive metal — and ABR is bringing the heat. But the fire doesn't stop on stage. The band is marking 20 years of Thrill Seeker with a complete re-recording of the album, this time featuring longtime frontman Jake Luhrs on vocals — a longtime dream finally realized. The anniversary edition drops January 24 via ABR Records, packed with upgraded production from Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, and features guest spots from Killswitch Engage's Adam Dutkiewicz and former ABR vocalist Josh McManness. Plus, the bonus track “Pride & Humility” gets a proper reimagining. Known for their tight musicianship, complex structures, and emotionally rich themes, August Burns Red has carved out a space uniquely their own — what Kerrang! once described as "thrillingly empathetic." Whether tearing up stages across the globe with Parkway Drive and Bring Me the Horizon, or dominating headlining tours celebrating albums like Constellations and Leveler, ABR has proven time and time again that they're built to last.
Baby Huey talks to Matt Heafy from Trivium about the band's tour with Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium's second album Ascendancy turning 20 years old, how he overcame the tough early years of the band, his mental health, the evolution of Trivium's sound over the years, his friendship with former WWE Superstar Baron Corbin and what he loves about music. The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour starring Bullet for My Valentine, Trivium, August Burns Red & Sylosis will be at The Masonic in San Francisco on Thursday, April 3rd. I'm taking a detour from my regular rhythm on the podcast this week to share some of my thoughts on the current state of the US and the fascist regime change underway, orchestrated with maximum chaos, brutality, corruption, and incompetency. Here I'm reading from three essays I've previously posted online where I'm applying my background as a professor of Religious Studies. The first, "What is a Cult?" comes from Jan, 2021. The next, "A Brief Guide to the 'Spiritual' Forces at Play in Trumpism," was from Nov, 2024, and the final, "On the Apotheosis of Loyalty as the Ultimate Virtue in the Trump Cult Kakistocracy" is also from Nov, 2024.

Conduce l'episodio Jacopo Casati, giornalista, promotion manager e digital specialist.Il podcast è disponibile su Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts, YouTube, Deezer, Spreaker e molti altri.

Launched to high anticipation, it attracted over X million players in just 72 hours across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Analytic Dreamz discusses the game's initial revenue of $XX million in its first month and a peak of Y00,000 concurrent players on Steam. Athleisure haters and lovers alike will appreciate our nostalgic nod to pioneering designers like Jean Patou and Coco Chanel, and the game-changing inventions like the rubber-bottomed tennis shoe and Lacoste's polo shirt. Fast forward to the present day, and we cover how the pandemic, social media, and celebrity culture have solidified athleisure as a wardrobe essential. Don't miss my reluctantly appreciative take on athleisure's strides toward sustainability and inclusivity, even if I still claim the title of its biggest skeptic.Follow our link: https://linktr.ee/magnifiquepodSupport the show

Forest fires, droughts, and rising sea levels beg a nagging question: have we lost our capacity to act on the future? Dr. Liliana Doganova's book Discounting the Future: The Ascendancy of a Political Technology (Princeton University Press, 2024) sheds new light on this anxious query. It argues that our relationship to the future has been trapped in the gears of a device called discounting. While its incidence remains little known, discounting has long been entrenched in market and policy practices, shaping the ways firms and governments look to the future and make decisions accordingly. Thus, a sociological account of discounting formulas has become urgent. Discounting means valuing things through the flows of costs and benefits that they are likely to generate in the future, with these future flows being literally dis-counted as they are translated in the present. How have we come to think of the future, and of valuation, in such terms? Building on original empirical research in the historical sociology of discounting, Dr. Doganova takes us to some of the sites and moments in which discounting took shape and gained momentum: valuation of European forests in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries; economic theories devised in the early 1900s; debates over business strategies in the postwar era; investor-state disputes over the nationalisation of natural resources; and drug development in the biopharmaceutical industry today. Weaving these threads together, the book pleads for an understanding of discounting as a political technology, and of the future as a contested domain. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose new book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. Episode Summary: In episode 177 of the Aerospace Advantage, Hypersonic Ascendancy: Regaining America's Edge, John "Slick" Baum chats with Dr. Michael Brown, the Principal Scientist of the High-Speed Systems Division at Air Force Research Laboratory, and Mark Rettig, Vice President and General Manager for Business and Technology Development at GE Aerospace's Edison Works about what the Air Force and industry are doing to help realize this crucial capability at an operational level. The U.S. spent the 1960s as the undisputed hypersonic leader, with the famed X-15 executing 199 successful flights, many over five times the speed of sound at the edge of space. This conversation begins with members of the Mitchell Institute team visiting the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's legendary X-15 up close, discussing the program's significance, and then exploring how this competitive advantage faded over subsequent decades. Now, America faces fierce adversary competition in the hypersonic realm, and our defense community must respond. We turn to AFRL's Dr. Michael Brown and GE's Mark Rettig to better understand how the government and industry are striving to realize the necessary innovations to field this capability at an operational level. We also discuss how and why hypersonic technology will impact tomorrow's battlespace. This is an incredible conversation with key leaders who are pioneering the future.
