Whoooooaaaaaaahhhhhhh shiiiiiiiiiiiBack with a smily face & a deep breath before you press play. This is a catch up with the lead actor from the 2022 released movie, Annie Hardie (the 2021 film festival run can not be included, c'mon you know the drill on A Year In Horror by now). It's been a couple of years since Dashcam was having its festival run & I wanted to get the lowdown from her on how she feels about the movie with this space in between its release & right now. How does anyone cope with the social media attacks like she faced, well, I asked. This episode is the result. I ramble on for maybe 15 minutes before the interview with Annie begins. Enjoy
Welcome back from our crazy winter break ! Tonight we talk about all sorts of stuff - music, moving, stories,... it got a little weird - but it's us, so what do you expect? Playing for Change... look that up, listen, and buy a high quality t-shirt if you like the message and cause. We had a romp through "Eric's Playlist" - including The Gories, Welshy Arms, mygut, Flat Duo Jets, Giant Drag and many others. There was that interlude about El Carpe's "finding the family" story - and we'll keep you abreast of any developments there... Thanks for joining our bit of silly, and the traipsing through our musical shennanegans... We appreciate both of you, and hope we passed the audition. Pour me another Brother.

Giant Drag were one of the most exciting bands of the mid-00s indie rock scene, and their singer, the cherubic Annie Hardy, was one of the most interesting rockstars around. Their debut album, 2005's Hearts And Unicorns, is as good as debut records get, really, all neo grunge sass and indie pop pout – with an awesome, heart swelling cover of Chris Isaak's ‘Wicked Game' tagged on to it to boot. Giant Drag made more records, and very good they were too, and she collaborated with the Deftones, appeared in a Spike Jonze movie, and performed with the Jesus & Mary Chain. But Annie got ill. Then suffered colossal tragedy – losing her baby son and partner in less than a year. Understandably, she went quiet, until she appeared as an exaggerated version of herself in this year's excellent Dashcam movie, a found footage horror from the makers of 2020's best horror movie, Host. In recent times, we've become friends. She's become a good friend. She's been there. She's a good one. And so I thought it was probably time we had a conversation for the podcast. Hilarious, unique, a bit batshit, maybe, a heart of gold. Annie Hardy rules, as I think you'll agree at the end of this hour long episode.Join the Substack!
On this week's episode, Scotty comes face to face with a giant drag queen, and Jeremy reveals he is not dying. Unfortunately, The Astros win the World Series, and Alabama is out of the College Football Playoff! Are the NY Jets for real, and is Justin Fields the franchise quarterback the Bears have been waiting for? Are kids cussing overrated or underrated, and what's the worst thing about living in Mexico? What are the worst souvenirs you can buy at a gift shop, and would you be a part of a daily book club? Enjoy another episode, and keep laughing, assholes!

Getting weird with Annie Hardy and Collin Deatherage of Giant Drag, an indie rock band from Los Angeles, California – that we have been blasting loud while walking through life for a long while – was an adventure to say the least. Their mix of poetic punk rock and subtle scream-o music lends itself perfectly to questions about funky neighbors, conspiracy theories, lemons and coffee, and much more mischief. This interview is as rare as a giant hamster hanging out with a giant peacock, and as fun as dicks and curses. Strap in for one helluva a ride.

The Giant Drag album "Waking Up Is Hard to Do" is highly recommended as a good place to start buying.

An absolute stonker of an episode this week as I have one of my favourite people and friends in the world on... ANNIE HARDY! This episode, we discuss Annie's time working with director Spike Jonze on his robot movie - where Annie plays a robot named Annie - her new album, and a bunch more things this side of controversial. There is ALOT to talk about as Annie also talks about the incredible tragedies that have happened to her and all leads to a very colourful episode of WTWON indeed. Six more recommendations of tv shows/films/docs you can watch right now on the streaming platform of your choice that come with the WTWON thumbs up. We take the hassle out of choosing so you can spend more time giving us good review on Itunes! (thank you). Please rate, review and subscribe if you are so inclined and please tell your mates!
