In this episode of Narcissist Apocalypse Q&A, Brandon discusses the role of feelings/body sensation language and how it can help an abuse survivor translate their story more effectively to themselves and to others. Brandon delves into the importance of visual language through metaphors and analogies, helping create a fuller picture of what your emotions will look and feel like. The more visual you can get, the more impact your feelings and body sensation language can be, and for an abuse survivor to leave abuse, get support, and heal. Join Swami Padmanabha and Bhima-Karma as they bring to the table topics of abuse shrouded by narratives of denial and various forms of evasiveness, healing from trauma and the positive choice of redemption, and the importance of embodied direct experience. Before a problem can be solved, it must be acknowledged and explored deeply through the sharing of experience, each from their own place. Only after exhaustive exploration will the solution be self-evident, and therefore, comprehensive. “What kind of kirtan can we have if we can't have a conversation? Without that, kirtan becomes an evasive device.” Bhima-Karma's concluding thoughts: “Be situated in direct experience.” Watch, and join in, this conversation on YouTube ▶ WATCH ON FACEBOOK ▶ WATCH ON YOUTUBE ▶ PURCHASE RADICAL PERSONALISM: Revival Manifesto for Proactive Devotion in hardcover, paperback, and/or Kindle formats on Amazon ▶ WRITE your REVIEW of RADICAL PERSONALISM ▶ CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION: Gaudiya Reform Forum on Facebook. ▶ FOR MORE INFO: SwamiPadmanabha.com

Love shouldn’t hurt: Healing from narcissism abuse and control

Domestic Violence and Abuse are not something comfortable to talk about - but they're actually a bigger problem then most people think. In this exclusive interview with author, speaker and women's empowerment coach Jacke Wilson, we discuss the different kinds of abuse, how to recognize an abusive pattern, why we stay in abusive relationships and how you can get out and begin to create change in your life. It's an absolutely awesome conversation and I encourage you to share it with anyone in your life that is struggling with abuse or to heal from it.
Are you 1 out of the 3 women who have experienced childhood sexual trauma? Do you believe you are missing a fulfilling life and relationship? Carolin Hauser marries the power of her personal story of healing from abuse with 15 years of experience in the field of alternative healing and psychotherapy.
Words cannot express the love I have for our next guest. She started out as my son’s girlfriend but ended up being so much more… Over the years we’ve remained connected and close and witnessing her growth and transformation through heartache & pain has been a miracle to say the least. Heather’s not only been working through the pain of growing up in an abusive, violent, and alcoholic environment but is now helping others heal through her art. I’m so proud of the work she’s doing in the world and she’s only getting started at 25 years old. This old soul has an incredible mission in this life and I’m excited to be able to play a small part of her journey. Torey Ivanic (www.openspace4.com) is the author of “No Big Deal From Athlete to Advocate: A Memoir of Childhood Betrayal and a Journey to Justice.” Torey is a mom, wife, and founder of Open Space. Torey coaches people to navigate life changes with a sense of fun, adventure, and appreciation and respect for nature. She grew up in Ohio, worked her way west to California, then replanted her family in Colorado a few years ago. Through her coaching practice, Torey inspires people to grow, heal, and live more authentic and intentional lives. Writing "No Big Deal" has been cathartic for Torey and has brought greater clarity to her work and life purpose. In this episode Torey shares about her process of acknowledging the abuse she experienced as a young gymnast from her coach, the impact it had on her life and others, and what it took for to heal, thrive, and seek justice. Torey now uses her personal experience as well as her formal training as a homeopath, to help folks navigate change and thrive. You can purchase her book on or after July 31st, 2018 at amazon.com. Torey’s story is a Me Too memoir. And the Me Too movement has always been about healing. This is one example of how one woman pursued healing and justice while bringing hope and helping others on their journey as well. Torey illuminates the uncomfortable tricky pitfalls and nuance of trusting, loving, AND being afraid of her abusive coach. I love and stand with Torey’s BOLD commitment to raising awareness on consent, reclaiming healthy sex, living with compassion, and dramatically reducing sexual violence for future generations. I met Nancy over 11 years ago when we were both members of a unique group at the Family Place in Dallas, TX. What made us different is that we didn't fit the societal stereotype of abused women. We were white with prominent and financially successful spouses. We were thought to be privileged, and no one entertained the possibility that abuse was the defining word for our marriages. Our group was even in a documentary that aired on the Lifetime Channel. Although we no longer see each other weekly, Nancy is one of those people who seem to be in my energy field. Every few years we wind up in the same place at the same time from restaurants to clothing stores to the Dallas Yoga Center. We even have carved out careers helping others to improve their lives as best-selling authors, radio show hosts and counseling with myself as a life coach and Nancy as a health counselor. None of this was predictable given the trauma we experienced. Join us Thursday to hear how Nancy left abuse and healed!
We all grow up with fears, feelings of not being good enough and insecurities. Now add being told by your family, society and your religion that there is something innately wrong with you, that you need to be fixed, that there is no room in heaven for you and top if off with the belief that God does not love you. How do you have any good feelings about yourself? How do you make it through the day? This is the experience of most people who grew up lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender. Yes, things are changing, but a lot of damage has already been done through the abuse experienced at the hands of family, society and religion. This abuse seems normal to many and opens the door to abuse within their intimate relationships. If you don't feel you deserve anything better, it is hard to leave abuse. In fact, you might even have the false belief that no one else could ever love you and that you're lucky to have anyone at all. Please join us Thursday for Healing Abuse in the LGBTQ Community.

A study of nearly 4,000 men and women revealed that 32 percent of men and 23 percent of women typically kept their feelings bottled up during marital spats. Women who didn't speak their minds in those fights were four times more likely to die during the 10-year study period as women who always spoke their minds. In fact, self-silencing takes a surprising physical toll on women. Other studies have linked the trait to numerous psychological and physical health risks including: depression, eating disorders and heart disease. Additionally, the way you interact during marital arguments is as important a heart risk factor as whether you smoke or have high cholesterol, says Timothy W. Smith, a psychology professor at the University of Utah. For women, whether her husband's arguing style is warm or hostile had the biggest impact on her health. Interestingly, the level of warmth or hostility had no impact on men's heart health. Instead, the men's heart risk increased if disagreements with his wife involved a battle for control-- regardless of whether he or his wife was the one vying for control.. A study that evaluated 600 women between the ages of 30 and 65 over the course of 10 years revealed that loving and healthy relationships had a positive influence on the way the heart functioned. How often were you told: Don't cry. You're fine. It doesn't hurt. That's enough now. Pull yourself together. Don't be a crybaby. Or maybe even: Stop crying or I'll give you something to really cry about. I'd like to think that this doesn't happen anymore, but I know better. Boys get a much heavier dose of this kind of training than girls do. We have a distorted idea of what it means to be strong. The truth is that strength develops by allowing ourselves to feel. That's what it means to be human. We must learn for ourselves and then teach our children that feelings are normal. It is not only OK to cry, it is necessary. Tears actually have a healing chemical in them. It's part of our body's wisdom and innate drive to heal. Strength is when we come out the other side, knowing that we can handle more than we ever thought possible. We must be open to all of our feelings, including pain in order to feel empathy and love. Join us Thursday to learn the importance of feeling in healing abuse.

How is it possible not to absorb these projections? What can you do to protect yourself against the projections of being the one continually at fault.
