My friend Julie, whom I know from my time of living in North Carolina, joins me on the podcast in this episode. She's a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Certified Health Coach, Akashic Records Soul Realignment Practitioner and a Qigong and Kundalini Yoga Teacher. Julie calls herself a way-shower, because she sees you as a human and a soul and guides you back home to who you really are at soul level. The parts of you that you have forgotten about, suppressed, or maybe even not known were there. The journey back home is beautiful, eye-opening, awe-inspiring, validating, and inspiring, and she loves witnessing the process. We discussed her journey from California to North Carolina, burn out in the health field, self identity as a healer, the profundity of randomness, and coming home to oneself. Julie currently lives and practices in Beaufort, North Carolina and she can be reached through her website drjuliehutsellstarling.com. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wilderness-dawn/support
Burnout is becoming a positive thing in our environment where we're always on the go. We are always congratulated for working hard, waking up early, working late than we're supposed to, and leaving no room for ourselves. No one is immune to burnout. Everybody can experience it. It doesn't matter how proactive, energetic, or determined you feel. If you are not looking out for yourself and showing yourself some self-love, you will soon start to feel drained. Sometimes we get caught up in our work, clients' success, and other things that need to happen in life that we forget ourselves. When we're not taking care of ourselves, we are not being true to ourselves or honoring our needs because we don't have loving boundaries, which creates illnesses and burnout. Burnout is just a symptom of losing and abandoning yourself. Learning to show yourself some love and care for yourself is your best path to overcoming burnout. In this episode of Fall in love with Fitness, Julie Hutsell Starling shares with me her journey and experience with burnout. She also expounds on burnout, self-love in stepping out of burnout, and how we can overcome it to enjoy doing what we are passionate about. What You'll Learn from this Episode: How to reclaim and refine yourself on your path to success. How to leverage self-care to give out a full cup without feeling selfish How to create a space for yourself and step out of burnout How to overcome burnout through self-love and alignment with who you are And much more! “Burnout is a symptom of losing and abandoning yourself” – Julie Hutsell Starling Topics Covered: 01:51 – About Julie and how she got into the burnout space 03:26 – Julie's realization and her journey to reclaim herself 06:23 – Burnout and the deviation from our authentic self 10:56 – Learning how to conserve our energy in the longterm 13:24 – Aligning with your true self to give out from a full cup 16:13 – Selfcare Vs. self-love in healing burnout 18:08 – How Julie shifted and made everything work for herself 23:42 – Steps on how to come out of burnout and align with your path 27:13 – Stop managing burnout symptoms and go for healing 27:51 – Julie's final words of inspiration 28: – How to reach out and connect with Julie Key Takeaways: Overcoming burnout is not about working less but aligning with your true calling. Self-care is not being selfish; it's being true to yourself. Self-care it's not what heals burnout; self-love does. When you are true to yourself, everyone around you benefits too. In this episode of Chasing the Insights, I talk to health professional and entrepreneur Julie Hutsell-Starling. Julie talks to us about how to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur. Since 2000, Dr. Julie Hutsell-Starling, DACM, L.Ac has been discovering, studying, and experiencing the mind/body connection and multiple energetic modalities that allow you to tap into your body's innate sense of balance, health, and well-being. Her personal journey started when she was just 27 and diagnosed with chronic pain. While healing herself, she discovered acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, which she found extraordinarily helpful with the pain and more importantly, helped her get to the root cause of the pain, which has kept it from returning all these years.

My guest this week is Jennifer Hutsell. For more than four decades, Jennifer lived her life driven by fear. Early childhood abuse and instability laid a foundation for her to have difficulty in trusting those closest to her, especially men. This led to a life entangled with severe codependency, divorce, addiction, and estrangement with her daughter and other family members. In the last eight years, God has graciously walked her through a healing journey where she now lives at peace and in freedom to be who He created her to be. Join us as we hear from Jennifer about her journey from fear to freedom. https://www.facebook.com/jennifer.hutsell.14 https://www.instagram.com/hutselljennifer
