In the past few years, as I've been going through coach training and coaching professionals and entrepreneurs, I have seen a theme around the importance of paying attention to mindset as it relates to their ADHD and how they were managing it before and after hitting their tipping point. Often these adults come to me to learn how to manage their day more effectively, be more productive, and learn new tips and tricks on managing ADHD. As we start the coaching process they start to see that managing their ADHD has a lot to do with their mindset and perspective on how they respond and react to challenging situations. In this episode, I interviewed Jeff Copper - ADHD coach, who has a few insights on why it is so important to pay attention to our mindset first before we dig into the tactical things. He talks about the struggle that some will have around their ADHD diagnosis such as, who they are and who they were supposed to be. In this conversation, Jeff said, “Let's open up our mind and change our mindset and not define it to be a specific way.” this is such a powerful statement as it relates to the diagnosis of ADHD, we can choose to focus on the possibilities of the unique brain wiring instead of creating tension and stress on focusing on the things we have a hard time with. I invite you to listen to this episode with an open mind and listen for opportunities where you can experience a shift in mindset as Jeff explains his approach to managing ADHD. Did You Know - related to this topic, I use a tool with my clients to actually measure their level of perspective and how they see the world and react to circumstances. This measurable self-awareness tool is a game-changer for many of my clients, it empowers them to shift to an optimal mindset and a new perspective on how they react and respond to stress and overwhelm. ~ Currently, this assessment is on a special rate - find out more. In 2018, Forbes Coaches Council recognized it as one of the “11 assessments every executive should take.” About Jeff Copper: Email: jeff@digcoaching.com | Website: www.digcoaching.com Jeff Copper, MBA, PCC, PCAC, CPCC, ACG, is an attention coach and expert on attention issues. He is founder of DIG Coaching Practice and founder/host of Attention Talk Radio and Attention Talk Video. He coaches individuals with ADD/ADHD symptoms who are seeking personal and business results by helping them realize their potential. As someone who has had to learn to manage attention and deal with his own challenges, Jeff helps his clients understand themselves and how their minds work. To this end, Jeff developed his anatomy of attention construct to help them regain control of their attention and move past barriers. Using his anatomy of attention construct, they can achieve what they are capable of faster, with less stress, and create productive environments they need to succeed. Jeff received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, an MBA from University of Tampa, professional designations from International Coaches Federation (ICF), Professional Association for ADHD Coaches, and certification programs at ADD Coach Academy and Coaches Training Institute. Jeff is a member of Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD), ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), Professional Association for ADHD Coaches (PAAC), ADD Resources, and International Coach Federation (ICF).
In the third episode of Sacred Conversation On Work host Carol Ross speaks with Dr. Home Nguyen, the founder of the MindKind Institute. He is a certified executive coach, and earned his Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. He received his coaching certification with the International Coaches Federation (ICF) and with the Coaches Training Institute. Additionally, Home has taught courses on Self-Awareness Training, Interpersonal Group Dynamics, and Adult Development at Columbia Business School and Yale School of Management. In this not-to-be-missed conversation, Home shares his incredible life story and shares how he went from being a teenage refugee escaping the communist regime to a challenging 10-day silent meditation to becoming a leading mindfulness researcher and coach in America. Home also shares deep life lessons he learned after dropping out of college and starting a theater company called Club O' Noodles Theater Company in Los Angeles. He used this company to help refugees, gay men with HIV/AIDS, and people traumatized from war to heal through performance.
