Nuacht Mhall. Príomhscéalta na seachtaine, léite go mall. * Inniu an t-aonú lá déag de Mí na Bealtaine. Is mise BarraMac Giolla Aoláin.Rinne Iosrael buamáil ar chathair Rafah i nGaza, áit atá dubhle daoine ag ceann thiar theas na Stráice. In ainneoin agóidíidirnáisiúnta, sheol Iosrael tancanna isteach in Rafah inné agus ghlac said smacht ar an trasbhealach teorann is mó. Is é seo an príomhbhealach chun cúnamh a fháil isteach i Stráice Gaza. Dúirt an Teach Bán go raibh siad in aghaidh ionradh ar Rafah. Tuairiscítear gur choinnigh na Meiriceánaigh siar lasta mór buamaí a bhí siad le seoladh chuig Iosrael an tseachtain seo caite mar gheall air seo. Bhí imní ar na Náisiúin Aontaithe faoi agus dúradh go raibh Iosrael ag "tachtadh" príomh-artairí cúnaimh Gaza. De réir tuairiscí leanann idirbheartaíocht síochána ar aghaidh san Éigipt idir Iosrael agus Hamas ach níl aon dul chun cinn déanta go dtí seo.Tá Éire tar éis dul ar aghaidh go dtí cluiche ceannais na hEoraifíse den chéad uair ó bhí 2018 ann. D'éirigh le “Bambie Thug” sa bhabhta leathcheannais Dé Máirt, leis an amhrán “Doomsday Blue” in Malmö na Sualainne. Dúirt máthair Bambie Thug Laura le Morning Ireland de chuid RTÉ “nach feidir léi fanacht” go bhfeicfidh sí an t-amhránaí as Corcaigh ag seinm sa chluiche ceannais. Bhí díomá ar lucht leanúna na hEoraifíse mar níor bhain an Astráil áit amach sa chomórtas i mbliana. Bhí ar na heagraithe leithscéal a ghabháil tar éis do dhuine de thaibheoirí Dé Máirt siombail a bhí ar son na Palaistíne a thaispeáint, agus rinneadh agóid mhór nuair a bhí an t-amhránaí as Iosrael ag seinm Déardaoin. Tá go leor daoine ag moladh gur chóir baghcat a dhéanamh ar an chluiche ceannais anocht, mar gheall ar rannpháirtíocht Iosrael, agus an cogadh fós ar siúl in Gaza.Beidh dhá chluiche ceannais cúige sa pheil ar siúl an deireadh seachtaine beag seo. Ceaptar go mbeadh an bua ag Baile Átha Cliath ar Lú go héasca i gcluiche ceannais Laighean, ach, maidir le cluiche ceannais Uladh i gCluain Eois Dé Domhnaigh, tá tá sé deacair buaiteoir a phiocadh amach idir Ard Mhacha agus Dún na nGall. Tá JimMcGuinness ar ais mar bhainisteoir Dhún na nGall agus támuinín ard ann. Tá sé ag cur orthu a chreidiúint gur féidirleo rudaí a dhéanamh nárbh fhéidir leo a dhéanamh anuraidh. Ar an taobh eile tá Kieran McGeeney ag lorg achéad bhua i gcraobh Uladh as deich n-iarracht. Ba cheart gur comórtas spreagúil a bheadh ann.  Bhuaigh Ciarraí agus Gaillimh na cluichí ceannais eile i gCúige Mumhan agus i gCúige Chonnacht an tseachtain seo caite. * Léirithe ag Conradh na Gaeilge i Londain. Tá an script ar fáil i d'aip phodchraolta. * GLUAIS trasbhealach teorann - border crossing lasta buamaí - a cargo of bombs tachtadh - suffocating, smothering lucht leanúna na hEoraifíse - Eurovision followers/fans taibheoirí - performers spreagúil - exciting

It was the most controversial transfer in GAA history. Seanie Johnston decided to move from Cavan to Kildare. What followed was an precedented journey, reporters at home, camera crews following his every move and in July 2012, Kildare met Cavan in the championship. His parents left the country and during the huge story- there was drama at every turn. For the first time, Seanie lifts the lid on how dark that period was, why he moved and how he reflects on the drama- a decade later! What was he offered by Kildare? Why did he choose the Lillywhites and was he really living in Straffan? In an unrestricted interview Seanie opens up on failing relationships in Cavan, the influence of Kieran McGeeney and sickness within the family. There is a dramatic low point and the steam room incident- all during an the most testing time in Seanie's life. His reflections are honest, blunt and compelling. Some people in Cavan will never forgive Seanie, some have, perhaps some will through time. Grit, despair, hurt, laughter- but is there regret? This is his story. An incredible insight.

It's been a weekend of huge highs and desperate lows on the GAA front and likewise on the football scene. Last week the IFA decided that – given the fixture delays due to Covid-19 - the 2020/21 Irish Cup will only feature 32 teams – those being the 24 Premiership and Championship clubs, along with the 2019/20 Intermediate Cup semi-finalists and the next four teams in the league pyramid. That decision sees current Premier Intermediate Champions Annagh United FC in – while they still await their first league match since promotion to the Championship – and Armagh City FC left out in the cold, along with almost 100 other unlucky clubs. We also have the reaction from Kieran McGeeney to Armagh's loss while Sinead Reel speaks of her delight as Armagh book as semi-final spot against reigning All-Ireland champions Dublin.

John O'Hanlon has been a well-known name in footballing circles for many years – 25 of those with Windmill Stars FC - both at youth and senior managerial level as well as on the field. His work has not gone unnoticed by his club, nor by the IFA, who recently named him the regional McDonalds IFA Grassroots Volunteer of the Year, at their awards ceremony in Windsor Park.  We also hear from Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney, after the Orchard County beat Clare in the final Allianz League fixture of the 2020 season, to win promotion to Division 1 for the first time since 2012.
