This episode honors the many facets of mothering—through every season, from being a mom of young children to mothering teens, adult children, and even grandchildren. Whether you're a new mom or an empty nester, this episode is for you. Previous Healing Medicine Mother's Day Episodes include: 196. Stop Apologizing when you haven't done anything wrong 197. Do you feel Underappreciated? 134. Mindful Wisdom from a New Grandmother 74. Your Relationship with your Mother 72. Mother's Day Gift 71. How to be an even better mom 121. Exploring the “Richness” of the Mother-in-Law Relationship In this episode, we discuss how to embrace change as our children grow and how to practice mindful presence and trust as a parent. We talk about the importance of showing up—sometimes just being there without fixing or controlling—and allowing our children to navigate their own paths. Pearls of Wisdom: No exam—or any milestone—is worth your health. Prioritize well-being over perfection. Your kids don't need fixing; they need you to hold space, listen, and trust them. Getting help helps—building a supportive village makes the journey lighter and richer. Let go of the need to control outcomes; instead, trust your children's process of growing up. Mothering adult children means embracing their independence while still being present with love and acceptance. At some point, you have to stop shrinking to make others comfortable. You have to stop apologizing for your growth, your ambition, your truth. This is about owning who you are — not just when it's easy, but when it challenges the world around you.The first speech in this compilation begins with a simple declaration:“I can't be sorry.”Not for evolving. Not for wanting more. Not for refusing to settle. Each speech in this episode builds on that foundation — reminding you that life isn't about fitting in, it's about standing out. It's about chasing the moments that make you feel alive and being bold enough to live a life that reflects who you really are. This episode is for the ones who are done waiting for permission. For those who are ready to be themselves fully and make the most out of every breath they've been given.
In this episode, I sit down with the passionate Alanna Kaivalya to explore the lost — yet ever-present — power of the feminine. While modern women have more freedom than ever to shape our lives and careers, many of us still measure success through a masculine lens, chasing goals and strategies that don't reflect our deepest desires. This conversation is not about rejecting the masculine, but about reclaiming the feminine — the intuitive, connective, and compassionate energy that too often gets sidelined. Alanna, a bestselling author and spiritual teacher, shares insights from her new book The Way of the Satisfied Woman, a powerful guide for anyone seeking an alternative path to fulfillment.Together, we discuss how embracing the feminine can liberate us from burnout, invite greater ease, and reconnect us with what matters most: meaningful relationships, inner peace, and authentic expression.Alanna Kaivalya, PhD is a bestselling author, educator, thought leader, and expert on mythology, spirituality, psychology, and women's empowerment. The author of Sacred Sound and Myths of the Asanas, she earned a doctorate in mythological studies with an emphasis in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and is the host of The Satisfied Woman podcast. In this conversation, Alanna discusses:What defines femininity Why connecting with the femininity is more important than everWhat models of satisfaction look like for the modern womanHow women don't realize how minimized and oppressed they areThe definition of "satisfaction"Her run-in with facebookMasculinity and feminityCurating your lifeFour keys to a satisfied lifeRelearning how to interactTrustThe habit of apologizingVisit Alanna's website Listen to The Satisfied Woman podcast________ Listen to some absurd and unhelpful nonsense Inside the Box with Claire and Wendy podcast BECOME YOUR OWN SHAMAN Introductory Online Course Visit Wendy's website to learn more about the the Harmonic Egg® Lucid Cafe episodes by topic Listen to Lucid Cafe on YouTube ★ Support this podcast ★

Her mission is to help midlife women overcome people pleasing, perfectionism, and burnout and say YES to putting themselves first and living their best life now! Through her programs and private coaching, she teaches women how to harness the power of their subconscious mind to have positive self talk, healthy boundaries, and self love and self worth so they can live life on their own terms with ease. She loves witnessing her clients transform from the inside out and pursue their dreams, enjoy healthier relationships, and have more daily energy & joy. I do what I do because I've been there—I struggled with people-pleasing, poor boundaries, and perfectionism. It caused me to play small and not feel seen and accepted, and it was a vicious cycle. My passion is helping other women break free from these self-defeating patterns so they can live fun, fulfilling lives where they're "serving" others, not "pleasing" others.Heidi Gustafson | Mastering Midlife with Heidi | masteringmidlifewithheidi.com | heidi@masteringmidlifewithheidi.com | 602-622-2636 Sign up for one of our negotiation courses at ShikinaNegotiationAcademy.comThanks for listening to Negotiation with Alice! In this episode, Kehla dives into the powerful message of Stop Apologizing. It's time to let go of the subtle ways we shrink ourselves with unnecessary apologies and self-deprecating humor. Kehla explores how these habits disempower us by seeking validation or approval from others and why it's essential to break free from this cycle. Listeners will be challenged to ask themselves why they apologize, where they're seeking validation, and how they're holding themselves back to avoid failure or judgment. The episode offers a bold call to action: own your voice, stop shrinking, and step into your leadership unapologetically. Being unapologetic is about standing fully in your truth, owning your worth, and showing up without softening your edges. It's about recognizing that those who choose to engage with your message are there for a reason—and you don't need to explain or diminish your brilliance. Tune in for a transformative conversation with Kehla on embracing your power, leading with confidence, and stepping into the role you're meant to play without shrinking or seeking approval. How many times have you wanted to say or do something but felt like you were holding back because you were afraid to show your true self to the world? I know I have. And that's something many of us struggle with. And when we think about why it's so hard to show people how we really feel and what we really think, love, and want, it's clear that fear of rejection is a factor. We're programmed to seek validation from the outside. Our society has taught us to hide our emotions and conform to expectations, but true freedom lies in being YOU. Real growth starts when you begin looking for approval inside yourself and accepting your true, authentic self. During my journey, I learned to be comfortable being vulnerable in public and stopped apologizing for being myself. In this episode, I'll show you how I overcame that fear, started taking risks, and learned to embrace unpredictability and trust the process. Join me as I also talk about the power of emotional release, the importance of surrounding yourself with supportive people, and why taking action – despite the fear – is the real path to success. Let's dive in! Key Takeaways: Intro (00:00) Authenticity in all interactions (01:36) Vulnerability is a strength (04:48) Stop apologizing for your emotions (05:37) Risk everything to be yourself (11:13) Self-acceptance over external validation (19:15) Investing in personal development (23:44) Growth and social media (31:06) Recap (37:18) Additional Resources:
Adam is in Nashville and talks to Jason Whitlock about the power of Nike and China's influence on the NBA. Jason thinks men should stop apologizing and considers the BLM movement to be a sex issue rather than a race issue. The guys also talk about gratitude, religion, and living in Nashville. Lastly, Jason explains why he thinks Michelle Obama will be a presidential candidate in the next election. Adam then meets up with Derek Bieri from Vice Grip Garage. The guys chat in a parking lot outside as they look at one of Derek's restorations- a 1981 GMC shop truck. Derek shares his history working on cars and the guys talk about the evolution of trucks, all the way to the Tesla Cybertruck. Derek talks about racing a Crown Vic and why he prefers to find old cars and give them new life.
