Today's episode gets personal—and maybe a little uncomfortable. I'm talking about the lies we believe about ourselves—and the truth that sets us free. These aren't just surface-level insecurities. They're the quiet, unspoken beliefs that sneak into your mind when no one's looking. Beliefs like “I'm too much,” “I'm not enough,” or “I'll never get it right.” They don't start as facts, but over time, they feel true—because they've been repeated in pain, shame, or silence. The way you see yourself isn't just shaping your confidence—it's shaping your choices, your relationships, and your faith. So today, let's peel back the layers and start getting honest about the lies—and the freedom on the other side. In this series we're trying to call out and directly engage some of those in-the-back-of-your-mind-thoughts that many people struggle with like "I don't matter" or "I'm too broken" or "I have to earn God's love." These are the kind of thoughts that can kick off our anxiety or whittle away at our faith. We believe that God has a different narrative for us that is rooted in His truth. This morning, Pastor Nick breaks down the lie that we have to 'earn God's love' by taking us through several Biblical stories and specifically engaging insecurity, worth and working to prove ourselves. With clarity, compassion, and conviction, he walks through God's design for the body, sexuality, and holiness, challenging both men and women to flee temptation and pursue deeper affections in Christ… yes, it's an issue for women too. What if everything you've been chasing for happiness is actually leaving you empty? Our world tells us that happiness comes from success, relationships, money, or instant gratification. But no matter how much we achieve, buy, or experience, it never seems to be enough. In this message, we unpack the Lies We Believe about what makes us happy and the truth that actually leads to fulfillment. The Bible warns us about three major lies—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—all of which convince us that happiness is found in temporary things. But Jesus offers something greater. In John 6:35, He says, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” True happiness isn't found in stuff, status, or shortcuts—it's found in surrendering to the only One who can truly satisfy. Have you been chasing temporary happiness instead of lasting joy? Where are you believing the world's lies instead of trusting God's truth? This week, read Psalm 73 every day and ask God to reveal where you've been settling for less than His best. Let's stop searching for happiness in the wrong places and start finding fulfillment in Him.
