Cole shares his journey from being a former football player who "wasn't a runner" to completing a 100-mile ultramarathon, and how that experience reshaped the way he thinks about identity, discipline, discomfort, leadership, and long-term success.  This conversation goes far deeper than performance or business strategy. Cole opens up about trauma, losing both parents, the pressure to earn love, anxiety attacks, success that almost destroyed him, and how God began rewiring his identity from striving for worth to living as a loved child of God. The value of this episode is in its raw honesty: it challenges men, leaders, entrepreneurs, and believers to stop chasing achievement as a substitute for healing and to build a life rooted in identity, endurance, mentorship, and obedience to God.

YouTube Video DescriptionHere is your optimized YouTube description based on the provided show notes. Why do service and skilled trades businesses lose bids? While it is easy to blame the price, the real culprit is almost always an invisible credibility gap.In part two of this conversation on the Smells Like Money podcast, host Suzan Chin-Taylor sits down with Daniel Strohli, founder of Profits X. Together, they break down how businesses unknowingly push prospects away with ghost town Google profiles and confusing websites. Tune in to discover actionable strategies to build instant trust, protect your time, and scale your operations using speed, proof, and extreme simplicity.Key Takeaways from This Episode:- The Illusion of Brand Awareness: Many long standing companies think people do not know them. In reality, prospects back out because the business fails to visually show its multi decade track record.- The Google Review Disconnect: Operating for decades with only a handful of online reviews creates an immediate trust gap. You need repeatable, team wide systems to secure consistent social proof.- The Three Second Website Test: Desperate buyers in a crisis want to know what is in it for them. If your website hero section looks like an "About Me" page rather than a clear solution, buyers will move to a competitor.- Money Loves Speed: High end consumers value time over money. Responding to a lead in minutes instead of days can drastically increase your effectiveness.- Pest vs. Welcome Guest Marketing: Shouting louder with bigger ad budgets does not build trust. When you show how much you care about solving a crisis, you become a welcome guest.- Pre Educating Your Clients: Educating prospects on job complexities before they sign protects your team's time and weeds out high maintenance, low profit accounts.Memorable Quotes:"When the value is there, it exceeds the price... If you can articulate who you are, why people should trust you, and the value that you provide, the price becomes an irrelevant topic."— Daniel Strohli"Simplicity, simplify to amplify. Complexity kills scale. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down one of the biggest reasons businesses stall—overcomplicating the offer. Because let's be real… If your prospect needs a spreadsheet to understand what you sell… You already lost them. Too many founders create: Fifteen pricing tiers Custom packages Too many services Confused sales scripts Broken fulfillment systems And then wonder why their business feels impossible to manage. In this episode, you'll learn: Why a confused buyer always says no How too many options destroy your conversion rate Why complexity crushes your margins and burns out your team How simplifying your offer creates faster sales, cleaner fulfillment, and stronger profits Because scaling is not about doing more. It is about doing one thing extremely well. One avatar. One problem. One elite solution. One clear delivery system. That is how you build a business your team can actually execute. That is how you create consistency. That is how you scale. The simpler the offer… The stronger the machine. Your Network is your NETWORTH! Typhoid Mary: The Shocking True Story of New York's Silent Killer is one of the most eerie, gripping, and unexpectedly timely episodes of Terrifying & True. In this Best of 2025 revisit, we return to the haunting real case of Mary Mallon, the woman history would remember as Typhoid Mary—an apparently healthy cook linked to deadly typhoid fever outbreaks across New York and Long Island. At the center of this unforgettable historical mystery is a terrifying idea: what if the person spreading disease shows no symptoms at all? In the early 1900s, affluent households were suddenly struck by baffling illness. The homes were clean, the water was safe, and no one could explain why people kept getting sick. As investigators followed the trail, they uncovered one of the most chilling public health cases in American history—one involving invisible infection, forced quarantine, fear, stigma, and a woman who insisted she had done nothing wrong. This episode is one of the most engrossing Terrifying & True episodes of 2025 because it works on so many levels at once: as a historical true story, a medical mystery, a New York nightmare, and a disturbing ethical drama about freedom, blame, and public safety. It's creepy not because of gore or violence, but because the threat is silent, intimate, and impossible to see. That makes this Best of 2025 re-air especially strong for discoverability—and especially worth revisiting.Inside this episode:The 1906 Oyster Bay outbreak that launched the mysteryGeorge Soper's investigation into a hidden source of repeated typhoid casesMary Mallon's confrontation, arrest, and forced testingThe quarantine on North Brother Island and the legal controversy that followedHer return to cooking under aliases and the second outbreak that sealed her fateWhy Typhoid Mary still matters today in conversations about disease, stigma, and public healthIf you're drawn to historical true crime, dark history, medical mysteries, epidemic stories, New York history, and bizarre real cases that feel almost unbelievable, this is one of the strongest examples of what Terrifying & True does best. This Best of 2025 episode is a chance to revisit one of the show's most unsettling and memorable stories—one that still feels unnervingly relevant more than a century later. We're telling that story tonight.

In senior roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, TaskUs, and QSC, he managed large international teams and drove major transformation programs—experiences that revealed how easily careers stall when strong managers are promoted without the confidence or presence to step fully into leadership. That observation became the foundation forThe Leadership Studio, where Crispin helps leaders bridge the gap between how they see themselves and how others experience them. His coaching focuses on practical shifts that carry real weight in the room: learning to project calm under pressure, making decisions when information is incomplete, and moving past the perfectionism that undermines confidence. If you're transitioning from employee to entrepreneur—or trying to scale—this episode offers a clear reality check on what it actually takes.Key Takeaways:“Employee thinking” is rooted in security, while entrepreneurship requires value creation and risk toleranceSurrounding yourself with honest, high-level feedback is critical to avoid blind spotsFounders must resist overbuilding teams and overhead too earlySuccess comes from focusing on high-impact “rainmaker” activitiesYou must be willing to be uncomfortable, make mistakes, and look foolishManaging your time (and protecting white space) is essential for breakthroughsStarting as a side hustle can reduce risk while building momentumShow Notes:Wealth Without Apology :https://amzn.to/4mfPinLBreakthrough U:https://randygage.com/breakthrough-u/Randy's Website:https://randygage.com/How to Founder:https://www.howtofounder.com/

Viktor Glinka: When Internal and External Team Members Have Divergent Goals — The Silent Killer of Agile Teams Read the full Show Notes and search through the world's largest audio library on Agile and Scrum directly on the Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast website: http://bit.ly/SMTP_ShowNotes.   "The root causes for destructive team patterns often lie outside the team itself." - Viktor Glinka   Viktor shares a story from a manufacturing organization where one team stood out — and not in a good way. The team was composed of both internal and external members, and what no one saw coming was that their implicit goals were fundamentally divergent: the external members were focused on maximizing revenue for their own company, while the internal members cared deeply about product quality. The signs were visible to anyone who approached them — they barely talked to each other and preferred to work individually. When Viktor tried to raise the topic of cooperation and trust, he was met with awkward silence. One team member finally told him: "I don't want the team to blow up. In my previous experience, I raised this topic and that was the end of the team." Fear kept the truth underground. Viktor brought his observations to the manager, who acknowledged the lack of a shared goal as the root cause — but couldn't fix it because he wasn't authorized to manage the external people. The takeaway was clear: three key success factors for any team are the right team composition with people who want to work together, a shared goal that unites diverse perspectives, and clear expectations set by their manager.   In this segment, we talk about LeSS self-designing team workshops and the importance of team composition in scaled setups.   Self-reflection Question: Does your team have a shared goal that everyone — including external members and contractors — genuinely understands and cares about? When was the last time you checked? Featured Book of the Week: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time by Jeff Sutherland Viktor recommends The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time by Jeff Sutherland as the book that sparked his passion for Scrum. As he puts it: "I know the title is very controversial and often criticized, but I could deeply relate to the stories inside the book. They sparked a passion that is still with me." Viktor also recommends a bonus book: Reinventing Organizations by Frederic Laloux, which showed him the real power of self-organization and validated what he had already started experimenting with in his project management career. It pushed him to explore holacracy, sociocracy, intent-based leadership, and coaching.   [The Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast Recommends]

Jeannette looks into the most dangerous place in business: comfort.  While many leaders fear failure or competition, the true threat is a quiet slide into irrelevance. She explores why the most successful leaders are those who treat reinvention as a requirement rather than an option, especially in an era of rapid AI integration and shifting consumer behaviours.  From identifying lethal stability to mastering the art of the strategic pivot, this episode is a wake-up call for any leader or entrepreneur who has stopped feeling uncomfortable. You'll Learn Why: Constant revenue and steady clients can mask a dangerous lack of evolution. Accepting a good status quo is the primary barrier to achieving greatness and long-term growth. Technology is shifting the goalposts, making current relevance more valuable than past reputation. Staying ahead requires questioning your assumptions every six months to avoid becoming a "Kodak leader." Powerful leadership demands a consistent upgrade of your network, mindset, and identity. In this episode of The Slight Shift Show, Chris and Angela dive deep into the second principle of Il Il Shin. Avoiding anger at all costs. While passion is a strength, unchecked anger acts as a destructive force that destroys you from the inside out, impacting both physical health and mental clarity. Drawing from personal anecdotes, Chris and Angela explore why shifting from a reactive emotional state to a logical, empathetic one is life-altering. They discuss the importance of self-awareness, recognizing physical "tells," and the leadership power found in remaining calm under pressure. Key Discussion Points The Il Il Shin Philosophy: Understanding the principle of renewing oneself daily and why even a single moment of anger can negate hours of personal growth and meditation. The Physical Toll of Emotion: Angela shares a powerful story of how a stressful airport experience years ago caused physical chest tightness that lasted for a long period of time. Identifying Your "Tells": The importance of self-awareness. Recognizing if your heart races, your palms sweat, or you shut down, and catch anger before it takes control. Control vs. Influence: Using the "90% Rule": most situations causing anger are outside of our control. The shift lies in choosing how to react internally. Channeling Energy: How to redirect the energy behind anger into productive problem-solving rather than destructive outbursts. And much more!

This The Standard Within episode is a short-form reflection on personal accountability, discipline, and self-leadership for people navigating pressure, responsibility, and growth. In this episode, we focus on: how blaming makes us feel betterYou've been there before. A project crashes, a deadline sails by, or a relationship starts to fray, and your brain immediately goes on a hunt for the culprit. It feels like finding the last piece of a puzzle when you finally point the finger at the person who messed up. That click of "knowing" who's at fault provides a massive hit of relief because it makes sense of the chaos. But here's the hard truth: blame is a sedative, not a cure. It numbs the sting of a bad situation, but it doesn't actually move your car any closer to the destination. When you're operating at a high level, it's easy to see the flaws in everyone else's process while remaining completely blind to the gaps in your own. This is attribution bias in action. You might be 100% factually correct that someone else failed, but focusing on that failure is like staring at a broken car and just saying the engine stopped. It's an autopsy of the past when what you really need is a navigation system for the future. If you're waiting for the person who broke it to fix it, you've surrendered your power. This episode explores how to shift from being a "historian of your problems" to a leader of the solution. It's about selective ownership—acknowledging the storm you didn't cause, but owning the decision to find shelter. Stop asking who's at fault and start asking what your next move is. The world doesn't reward the best excuse; it rewards the person who stays in the arena.Share this episode with someone who could benefit from the information.CONNECT WITH THE PODCAST:IG: https://www.instagram.com/paulpantani/IG: https://www.instagram.com/thestandardwithinpodcast/QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS:thestandardwithinpodcast@gmail.com
