Introduction: Host Michael Rand found Tuesday's comments from Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy to be noteworthy. Plus the Wild retained Michael McCarron on a long-term contract and the Lynx continued to roll. 11:00: La Velle E. Neal III joined the show for a World Cup preview. The Stanley Cup Final is four games deep, and we're breaking down everything we've seen from the series so far, including our updated predictions, biggest surprises, and whether momentum has shifted heading into the final stretch. We also dive into the latest Dylan Larkin trade rumors, with reports linking the Red Wings captain to Florida, Minnesota, and Vegas. Which destination makes the most sense, which teams need him the most, and what could Detroit realistically expect in return for a player with four years remaining on his contract? We also discuss the Edmonton Oilers' decision to hire Mike Babcock as their next head coach, whether coaching was truly the team's biggest issue, and what Babcock brings to the table that Kris Knoblauch didn't. Plus, we react to the latest NHL Awards, including the Jack Adams, Norris, Ted Lindsay, and Vezina Trophy winners, before making our own predictions for who will take home the Hart Trophy. In this week's Money Moves segment, we examine the Minnesota Wild's six-year extension for Michael McCarron and what it means for their salary cap situation moving forward, as well as Evgeni Malkin's new one-year deal to remain in Pittsburgh. Would we have made the same decisions if we were running those organizations? Finally, we continue our offseason Team In Review series with the Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, and Calgary Flames, identifying the biggest priorities each franchise must address this summer. We wrap things up with another edition of Flaming Hot Takes, where we each bring two bold NHL predictions and put them to the test. #NHL #Hockey #StanleyCupFinal #StanleyCup #NHLPlayoffs #ConnorMcDavid #NathanMacKinnon #DylanLarkin #DetroitRedWings #EdmontonOilers #VegasGoldenKnights #FloridaPanthers #MinnesotaWild #MikeBabcock #NHLRumors #HockeyPodcast #AfterTheHorn #GuerillaSports #HockeyTalk #NHLNews Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This Detroit Red Wings podcast tackles Red Wings trade options & free agency paths as Steve Yzerman weighs how aggressive to get this summer. News and analysis breaks down the Elias Pettersson trade scenario, Bobby McMann free agent fit, and what a real roster shakeup could look like for Todd McLellan's group. (0:00) Remembering Claude Lemieux Opening with condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Claude Lemieux, who passed away at age 60. (1:12) Intro Warning the residents along TPC Michigan, Oakland Hills, and Detroit Golf Club fairways that the WWP crew is coming to town. Fortify your windows. (4:10) Red Wings Offseason Paths Walking through Max Bultman's three scenarios (article here) for the Detroit Red Wings: targeted adds (Bobby McMann, Michael McCarron), the bigger free agent swing (Alex Tuch, Mason Marchment, Vitek Vanecek, plus a Cossa-for-Howard trade), or the bold Elias Pettersson trade with Nate Danielson as the headliner. Why the rising cap makes Pettersson's $11.6M hit less scary, which option two terrifies us, and where McMann fits as the most realistic add. Also: is there a chaotic option four where you reset around Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond and move on from Dylan Larkin, Alex DeBrincat, and Patrick Kane? 0:00 - Here we are 2 days later, and Brett still can't that Michael McCarron did what he did in Game 4. Hockey is the only sport in the WORLD where the players are not only allowed to police themselves, but it's encourages and ALLOWED. And yet, he spent the whole game flopping and yapping at the refs. That's certianly a choice.15:58 - The Broncos will start the year by playing the Chiefs on Monday Night Football...on the road...in KC. Is that a disrespectful move? The Broncos were within spitting distance of the Super Bowl, and yet they didn't earn a home game in Week 1? That doesn't feel right. After that, the Rockies an into an immovable object last night named Paul Skenes. That guy is unbelievable.33:36 - Chris MacFarland has been nominated for GM of the Year. Well deserved. He absolutely should win. Every single mid-season acquisition the Avs picked us is contributing in the playoffs. And he does this every year. Remember last year when he swapped Mikko for Marty Nachos? How's Nachos been?

Nick Kypreos, Justin Bourne and Sam McKee recap Colorado Avalanche's Game 4 win over the Minnesota Wild, Josh Manson butt-ending Michael McCarron, before bringing on Sportsnet reporter Sean Reynolds (8:20) covering the series to get his thoughts on Minnesota on the verge of getting eliminated in Game 5, Colorado's goalie swap, Quinn Hughes' nearly playing 35 minutes, how Jared Bednar and his players adjusted to utilizing their depth, Cale Makar's performance during this series, does either Vegas Golden Knights or Anaheim Ducks have a chance against either Wild or Avs, and Hughes' future in Minnesota. Then, the guys chat about the Golden Knights withholding their permission for the Edmonton Oilers to interview Bruce Cassidy, the Oilers looking into a new head coach, and the Vancouver Canucks offering Ryan Johnson a head of hockey operations role. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
0:00 - ONE. MORE. WIN. That's all the Avs need to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Final. They beat the Wild last night in Game 4 and looked COMPLETELY different from Game 3. Much improved. Way more focused & bought in. 14:48 - Josh Manson got in a scuffle with Michael McCarron last night. He rammed his stick into the side of McCarron's head/neck area. DURING THE GAME, in an intermission interview, McCarron said Manson's a dirty player. Again, he said that DURING THE GAME. That's crazy! He doubled down on the dirtiness in his postgame comments. And honestly. GOOD. You need a pest that gets in your opponent's head.33:08 - MacKinnon caught a slapshot right in the face. Stopped that puck with his nose. Next period, he was back in the game. Even got the game-sealing empty-net goal. Hockey players are truly built different. After that, we learned today that the first Monday Night Football game of the season is scheduled for September 14 between...the Broncos and the Chiefs! Hell yeah, brother. What a way to start the season. But, Brett said this is an indication of something larger...
0:00 - Hockey hits are truly different than any other sport. You're not just colliding with other humans. You're getting slammed full force into immovable planks of solid wood, by huge humans moving at high speeds. There's no other sport like it.Also, we were critical of Jared Bednar yesterday for sticking with MacKenzie Blackwood in net for Game 4. It seemed like a solution in search of a problem. And today, we're here to eat crow. Clearly Bedsie knows that goalie room better than anyone else, and that's all that matters. But now, here's where it gets really interesting...who starts in net tomorrow for Game 5?17:05 - Josh Manson clearly got in Michael McCarron's head last night. Manson is a pest. He plays right on that line, but he doesn't cross the line. Every team needs a player like that. Josh Manson is doing to the Wild what Jaden McDaniels did to the Nuggets.32:39 - Some final odds and ends here...The Broncos probably need to a get a restraining order against Von Miller. What happened to Cal Raleigh, who (you could argue) should've won AL MVP over Aaron Judge? Is it okay to send a tweet to the group chat during the waining seconds of a playoff game? LaMelo Ball's partner is named Ana Montana, and they named their son LaOne? Huh?

There is a void in the State of Hockey that will never be filled, as we remember our colleague and friend Jessi Pierce, who's life, alongside her 3 children and family dog, was cut short in a tragic house fire on March 21st, in White Bear Lake, MN.
