Spinning Out (another music podcast) We talk to artists about their favorite albums and go on wild tangents. This week on the pod we're joined by JP Flexner. We're talking about the Angus soundtrack. We also chat a lot about the film & all of the bands on the soundtrack. Little departure from the usual format, but it was a fun little detour. JP is an artist who has recently done work for the Mountain Goats, Sleater Kinney, Green Day and recently even did the album art for my band, Late Bloomer. He's a great friend who I've known for over ten years and just a delight to chat with. Just to note, this chat goes long, but there's so much to cover with the film, the soundtrack, the bands included & our relationship. JP also runs Sparkwell Design Studio with his lovely partner, Nicole Saltzer. They've worked with clients such as Neshaminy Creek, Dottie's Donuts, Althouse Dispensary, Trauger Brewing and Baywater Farms. Between band AND brand design, they've got both covered, so hit them up!! https://www.sparkwelldesignstudio.com/ Subscribe to our Patreon here: www.patreon.com/spinningoutpod Follow us on social media -- twitter and instagram (@Spinningoutpod)

This week we are joined this episode by Jeremy Myers from Trauger Brewing! We talk about Trauger Brewing's approach to brewing according to the "Reinheitsgebot," or the German Purity Law. We talk to Jeremy about brewing in Germany vs America, brewing to the German Purity Laws abroad, and we fan out on Jeremy's time with Neshaminy Creek. Cold air had been holding across the Midwest during the first week of March in 2008. Storms had been frequent in that region during that time, but none of them particularly strong. That changed on March 8, 2008. A major storm moving across the Tennessee Valley brought snow to the Midwest, strong thunderstorms to the Southeast and heavy rain and flooding the Northeast. Columbus, OH set a 24-hour maximum heavy snowfall record of 15.4“. The storm total reached more than 20 “. Memphis, TN received 1.4“ of snow, breaking the daily record. Jackson, TN also had an inch of snow, breaking their daily record. Trenton, NJ had a daily rainfall record 1.49“, with a record of 1.47“ in Philadelphia. Flooding occurred all along the Neshaminy Creek in the Philadelphia suburbs causing people to flee their homes. Damage occurred in parts of a VA from powerful thunderstorm generated winds. Brady welcomes Ryan Salsman (@taptraveler) as the new co-host of Brew Chat by sitting down with Jon Dispenza and Harrison Hickock, hosts of Drinking Socially – The Official Untappd Podcast (@untappd, @drinkingsocially).They each share their craft beer journey, different beginnings with the same end. Harrison began as a brewer for Thimble Island (@thimbleislandbrewing) and Neshaminy Creek (@neshaminycreekbrewingco) before his wife discovered an Untappd job posting. Jon, a Buffalo native, decided 35 years of "coldness and darkness" was enough that he deserved 35 years of sun and beaches in Wilmington, NC. He discovered the Untappd application after early days in Buffalo tasting "beers with flavor." He jumped at the opportunity to work for Untappd the same time as Harrison. The Drinking Socially podcast is a passion project in addition to their daily sales and marketing duties. Their goal is to introduce "more beer to more people" by making beer more approachable. The new season includes a feature called Beer 101 which focuses on education, the science of brewing, and Harrison's colorful brewhouse anecdotes.Untappd is evolving with the recent changes in the craft beer industry. There is less time spent on the roof deck overlooking the Cape Fear River and daily shifts in service to their brewing partners. A short list of changes include: Gregslist – a comprehensive database of COVID details for all partners, QR code tap lists, and an unrestricted "Untappd at Home" location. They've also seen drastic changes in their social media strategy, spinning up Untappd TV on Facebook and hosting virtual festivals. They have been so successful that they may remain permanent.Things end with discussions on Minnesota Craft Beer, Ryan and Brady's selection for the first beer in their personal "Mount Beermore," and what trends they are sick of. Ryan throws Harrison a head scratching "Would you Rather" before Brady asks which beer style they most resemble. You'll even get a bold prediction on the next big beer style. This week the gang goes back in time to an episode we recorded back towards quarantine, where we sat down to enjoy Neshaminy Creek Brewing! While our biggest difficulty was trying to pronounce Neshaminy, we had no difficulty enjoying these delicious beers. We tried a few beers, the Cherry Hibiscus Wheat, Strange Rituals Red IPA and the Shape of Hops to Come Double IPA.https://neshaminycreekbrewing.com/"Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company was founded in 2010 by head brewmaster Jeremy Myers and assistant brewers Rob Jahn and Steve Capelli. It takes its name from the nearby creek of the same name, from which it draws water for its beer. The facility itself, located at 909 Ray Avenue, officially opened on June 1, 2012. In 2013, the Churchville Lager won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival.[5] In 2016, Neshaminy Creek won two bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival for their Vienna Lager and their smoked beer.In 2016, Neshaminy Creek announced the opening of a location and tasting room in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.[7]The company brews six year-round beers and several seasonal beers, which are distributed to the greater Philadelphia area and New Jersey."Give our episode a listen to see what we think of these beers and give you some information on Neshaminy's origin story! On this episode, we talk more about home haircuts and our personal facial hair. Also, we get into the epic drive-thru and takeout lines we've seen during the lockdown and ask if the long Memorial Day weekend was a blessing or a curse. Sicko was an American rock group from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1991. Exceptionally, the three-piece pop-punk group maintained a constant membership for every recording as a band. This line-up was Denny Bartlett (guitar, bass, vocals), Ean Hernandez (guitar, bass, vocals), and Josh Rubin (drums, brother of Aaron Rubin from The Mr. T Experience). Sicko released four full-length albums and five 7" eps as well as a retrospective CD with unreleased and rare material, a released demo and a tour video. They also appeared on approximately fourteen compilations on labels such as Lookout! Records and Liberation Records. They once exchanged covers with Cub. The vast majority of their recorded output was recorded by Kurt Bloch of The Fastbacks and released on Seattle-based punk label eMpTy Records. One EP and the retrospective CD were released on Mutant Pop Records. Three Sicko songs were featured on the Xbox game Project Gotham Racing 2 alongside artists like The Flaming Lips and Princess Superstar. 88 Fingers Louie is an American band from Chicago which was formed in 1993. They played a style of hardcore punk, melodic hardcore, and punk rock. After disbanding in 1999, guitarist Dan Wleklinski and bassist Joe Principe formed the well-known punk rock band Rise Against. The band reunited in 2009 and has continued playing shows in Chicago, Canada, Belgium, Las Vegas, and Asbury Park. The band held a 20th-anniversary show in 2013. The name comes from a Flintstones gangster who sells dodgy pianos. Fun fact, Denis is a fan of the podcast. Well, I mean he said he liked a few episodes so I’m going to take that as he has the logo tattooed on his chest now. I asked him if he’d like to talk about the days of 88 and how cool Chicago is and he said The Ballet Where did the video for "I’ve Won" go? This episode takes place at the bar in Rob's house and was recorded on 3 iPhones. We each had one in front of us. All 3 files were sent to Richard where he married the audio to make it sound whole. Only issue was, Jay Rose got 2 calls during the recording which threw off the Synch. Richard being the audio dynamo that he his, saved the episode. JR sounds a little like a Daft Punk robot toward the end which isn't the end of the world. That's what he gets for not turning on airplane mode while recording. We drink beers from Omnipollo, Evil Twin, Neshaminy Creek, and our boys Tonewood. A NICE time was had by all.
This episode we set up at a beer fest we’ve never recorded at before, Hop Rods and Hops at Neshaminy Creek Brewing. This annual event features several local breweries, food trucks, live music from Soul Custody and, of course, lots of cool cars. We sat down with Neshaminy Creek brewer and co-owner Jeremy Myers to talk about the event and kick off the day with some stellar (and award-winning) beers. Then, we ran down the lineup of visiting breweries, chatting with some new friends and old, and sampling many of the concoctions on offer. This event was a blast, and always benefits a good cause – this year, proceeds went to the Croydon VFW.
This week TJ Del Reno from Unlimited Lives fills in for Jessica, Bronston Jones joins us as we chat with Johnny from Neshaminy Creek Brewing at the NYC craft beer festival.
In this episode of the Beer Here! podcast, we discuss beers that pair well with lawn mowing or other grueling activities in the summer heat. Will discusses the history of the lawnmower, then beers are samples from Neshaminy Creek and Bells. News include the new Brewers Association logo for 'real craft breweries', Flying Dog's rejection of its use, more brewery acquisitions and mergers, as well as speculation as to what the next major shock purchase will be. Music is as always 'Son of an American' by The So So Glos. Thanks for listening and cheers!
In Ep #40 Tony and Eddie once again visit Hogwarts, the Forbidden Forest and this time...Grimmauld Place. They sit down to talk about about Order of the Phoenix members sitting down to discuss the grave possibilities of the future of the wizarding world. Tony comes in low on his rating of this movie. Shockingly low. But Eddie tries his hardest to sway him by describing some of the brilliantly depicted/acted/portrayed scenes in this film. Whether you're a big Harry Potter fan or not, we think you'll enjoy hearing the boys engage in constructive...criticism. Come and crush a cup of butterbeer with us!

3rd and final segment from the Neshaminy Creek Brewing's 4th Anniversary Party. In this episode we sit down with Rob Jahn and Steve Capelli, Co-owners and operators of Neshaminy Creek Brewing, we get pretty deep (for us) into the heated world of politics with Richard, and a couple random ladies take over the open mics toward the end. 3rd segments are usually never a good idea, this one is easily our best. Crack a Jawn and get in to it.
46 is segment 2 from the Neshaminy Creek Brewing 4th Anniversary Party. Not bad for a second segment! John Hoyos from Hunterdon sits in, and we introduce a new segment called "Beer Soaked Politics With Richard THE Rastafarian." We don't get too far into the segment before it gets derailed by the Neshaminy Creek GM, the one and only, Pat Pie. Strap in, this is a FUNNY EPISODE! Get into it!
45 Finds us in the enormous warehouse space before the doors open at the Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. 4th Anniversary party. Philly Beer Week is recapped, we dissect micro vs craft vs independent beer with John Hoyos from Hunterdon, and we talk about how craft spirits seem to be "more craft" than beer. We also get a long overdue update on the ever evolving status of Richard's many occupations. Crack a JAWN and enjoy the ride.
